The Crash is running tonight in Tijuana. This is the charity show they’re running for victims of the Mexico earthquakes. The main event is Brian Cage, Penta and Rey Mysterio versus La Mascara, Pierroth and Rush. The big match may turn out to be Rey Fenix vs Flamita, as they were said to have an amazing match in San Luis Potosi a few weeks ago. The fourth match is scheduled to be Jack Evans, M-ximo, and Willie Mack against Yellow Rebelion trio Bestia 666, Black Taurus and Garza Jr., but Garza’s probably missing the match. It’s a seven match card, including OVE (the Crists) and a three way Impact X Division title match with Trevor Lee, Daga and Ultimo Ninja. The show will turn up on handhelds and on Konnan’s Patreon.

Garza Jr. won’t be in the match because he’s currently in the hospital. Multimedios website isn’t up, but they had a couple videos explaining the situation: Garza separated one of his shoulders on one of Ernersto Chavana’s TV shows (the clip made it seem like it happened backstage, not an incident in front of the crowd), which was an injury he originally suffered 3.5 years ago. Garza worked the NOAH show with the injury, then came back to get surgery. I haven’t seen how long he’ll be out.

On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned Lucha underground was looking at coming back for a season 4 with reduced funding. This is not really a new development; if you listed to Eric Van Wagenen’s interview on The MMM Show a couple weeks ago, he mentions just coming from an MGM meeting and mentions trying to do with less money than they hoped and a little luck. From what I can tell, and have written here a couple times now, the entire reason this decision has taken so long is there is an offer, but it’s not what the MGM side wants, and there’s no hurry to jump at until they get close to a deadline. That deadline appears to be coming close – an actual announcement could pop up at any time this month.

Who would be around for Season 3 is a question. We know Rey & Prince Puma are out of their contracts. Meltzer strongly suggested others wanted out of their deals. It also appears some people just may already be out of their deal; the idea of everyone but the top names being under a seven season deal seems iffy if Sexy Star was only under a three year deal. ESPN Wrestling section, which is running a series of interviews on Wednesdays corresponding to whoever’s got a big Ultima Lucha match that week, had one with Catrina yesterday. It’s interesting, but it stood out that Karlee Perez refers Catrina as a role she had, and one she wouldn’t have time to return to with the rest of her schedule. “Return” sounds like she’s out of her deal already.

Likewise, Marty the Moth posted a farewell message to Lucha Underground as if he’s moving on too – I don’t know if he thinks the show is done or if he thinks just his part in the show is over. Or, because it’s wrestling, if he’s just messing with everyone.

SoCalUncensored says that lucha flavored wrestling audition in California is being run by Aroluxe. This is a production company which took over TNA/Impact in 2016, and include bald twin tall wrestlers the Harris Brothers among their management staff. They are not part of Impact now – it ended badly, if I recall correctly – and this sounds like they’re trying to find another way back into the wrestling business.

Today’s the 11th anniversary of Antonio Pena’s passing. AAA has a public mass today. Bernado Guzman writes a column about Pena in El Universal.

Leo Riano has the details on what happened with El Fantasma: his heart felt bad after a show in Cancun on a Friday, he went to to local hospital the next day, but they did not have the equipment to check his heart’s condition. Hijo del Fantasma found a doctor who could operate on the heart, but the doctor was in Cozumel, 2.5 hours away. Hijo del Fantasma rented an ambulance, which took his father to a hospital in Playa del Carmen to diagnosis the heart issue. They said Fantasma needed an operation right away, so Fantasma had to take a ferry to Cozumel and then had the operation there. He’s doing better now.

Riano also says Mesias broke a 4000 (USD) TV monitor and a Jesus Zuniga’s iPad in the Heroes Inmortales main event.

Lucha Memes announced three more matches for 10/22 in Puebla’s Arena La Loma

Centella de Oro used to be awesome, haven’t seen him in a long time. I think I liked Prayer/Virus less than most people but I’d still be interested in seeing how that one goes.

Mr. Niebla missed Saturday’s Arena Azteca Budokan show in addition to his CMLL bookings. He’s not listed on any upcoming cards right now.

Turiluchas bus service resumed on Tuesday with the restart of shows.

This week’s Lucha Talk talks about the WON HOF.

Zona Ruda had Pepe Casas, Drago and Chessman.

Aeroboy is asked if Mexican wrestling is the best in the world.
