CMLL announces tentative CDMX lineups, continues in Guadalajara tonight

CMLL skips it’s fifth straight Mexico City (and one Puebla show) tonight. There’s no Tuesday night card for the second week in a row. We don’t have complete records to know how long they were dark in 1985. Back in 2009, when public gathering areas were closed to be cleaned and inspected after a horrible flu outbreak, CMLL went 17 days without Mexico City shows.

CMLL’s hoping it’ll only be 12 days between shows this time around. They’ve put out line ups from Friday Arena Mexico and Saturday Arena Coliseo, saying they are the shows CMLL will run if they get governmental permission to run again by then. There hasn’t been lineups until now, so they must feel like they have a good chance of getting the OK. Mexico’s soccer leagues are scheduled to resume tonight. If those events are happening, CMLL has a pretty good chance of getting an OK.

(Not sure if no Sunday Arena Mexico lineup means they’re taking that day off and just sending everyone to Guadalajara. CMLL does say they hope to run Arena Puebla next Monday if they get approval there.)

CMLL is running in Guadalajara like normal tonight. The main event there is Flip Gordon versus Ultimo Guerrero, which is the same main event CMLL’s hoping to run Friday night. Few people are going to see both (which is good, because it’s UG so it’s probably going to be the same move by move match), but it’s still strange. We’ve seen over the summer that CMLL will book all the visiting foreigners on as many shows as possible. My completely uninformed theory is they’re getting a guaranteed amount, and CMLL’s trying to spread the cost over as many shows as possible. They can’t really with Flip, there aren’t many shows right now, so they have him working singles main events instead.

AAA’s put up this week’s TV show. They lead off with a Llave a la Gloria match that’s pretty good.

+LuchaTV’s podcast has Bandido & Johnny Mundo as guests.

The Crash is selling earthquake benefit shirts starting Thursday.

LuchaWorld has the latest news update and this week’s Poster-Mania.

IWRG said No Wednesday Shows in September, so this must be some strange new month that exists before October.

A 24 man IWRG cage match sounds like a popcorn eating disaster. Can’t wait.

There was a Leroy trainee back in 2012. He stuck out because he was a luchador named Leroy and also his mask looked a lot like the Traumas.

I think we’re all thrilled to have one more person named Pantera. This is probably no the La Pantera of Jalisco but who can say.
