CMLL shows canceled this weekend, Santo postponement

Tonight’s CMLL’s show is canceled. So are Saturday’s and Sunday’s Mexico city show. Ovaciones reports CMLL will decide on Monday if they’re running a show on Tuesday. If they’re not deciding until Monday, that probably means Puebla is off.

CMLL will continue to accept supplies tonight from 10-6. They’re looking for medicine for pets, babe food, water and tools. Many other wrestling arenas are accepting supplies as well.

Skandalo, who hasn’t been seen in the ring since March and is believed to dealing with an eye injury, was among those collecting supplies.

IWRG luchador Blue Monsther was among those helping remove debris from a collapsed garment factory in Mexico City. He said he’d normally be teaching at a gym but felt his energy could be better used there. People working at the site have found twenty bodies and saved four people.

There’s also a story involving CMLL luchador Nitro, though I’m not exactly sure what it is. Rey Bucanero wrote something about Nitro risking his life and safety to save others. He apparently got hurt while saving two other people, but is safe now.

Fenix and Penta have canceled their appearances in Australia this week to stay with their families.

El Hijo del Santo says his show in Tulancingo scheduled for tomorrow will now be held next Thursday (09/28) at the request of the government. They’ll give a 25% ticket discount with an item donation for earthquake relief. Santo will be part of a mass in front of his father today, and will visit the Santo statue tomorrow.

The FULL show scheduled for Saturday has been postponed to 10/21.

The Crash announced their next Tijuana show ill now be held on October 5th (a Thursday, two days earlier) and tickets will be free for donations of earthquake relief supplies.

DTU resumed their shows in Xalapa. Trey Miguel kept his Rockstar Pro title over Pardux and Toto. Los Masizos may be splitting up. They won the main event over Ovett, Halloween and Shlak, but Crazy King stole the pin from Ciclope.

AAA Japan announced non-tournaments matches for the 10/10 Lucha World Cup
King Cuerno vs Angelico
Danny Jones, Diego, Sumrise Natsu vs Taylor Adams, Rekka, and Heidi Katrina

I guess that means Cuerno and Angelico aren’t in the proper tournament itself, but should have a pretty good match. It also helps explains why Angelico is still in AAA at the moment. This show, and the 10/09 show the previous day, also pop up on DJZ’s upcoming schedule. Also, this is my required mention that this show is less than 3 weeks away, the Mexico side of AAA has still not acknowledged these shows are happening at all, and that seems concerning.

AAA’s weekend in Riveria Maya starts this weekend.

R de Rudo’s Mauricio Rebollo writes about what he’s seen in Mexico City the last couple days. He was in a walkway connecting two buildings when the earthquake happened, which sounds like a place I really would not want to be. SuperLuchas has photos of destruction from Morelos, the epicenter of the earthquake.

LuchaWorld has the latest edition of the podcast.

Lineups

The Crash (FRI) 09/29/2017 Plaza de Toros Eduardo Funtante, Mazatlán, Sinaloa
1) Dr. Necropsia, Pajaro, Thunder vs Argus, Sangre Maligna, Sigma
2) Eclipse & Relámpago vs Brian Villa & Willy Banderas
3) Jack Evans vs Bestia 666
4) Daga & Zorro vs Máximo & Rey Escorpión (Indie)
5) Penta 0M, Rey Mysterio 619, Willie Mack vs Brian Cage, Carlito, La Máscara

Full card for the debut in Sinaloa. Villa & Banderas are in from Guadalajara (but work here for indies some times.)

MDA (SUN) 10/01/2017 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
1) Mini Hator vs Tekilita
2) Vasco Jr. vs Quinto Elemento
3) Rey Horus vs GalactarFuror
4) Antifaz & Dos Caras Sr. vs Charles Lucero & Panthro
5) Zack Sabre Jr. vs Xtreme Tiger
6) Alberto el Patrón vs El Hijo Del Santo vs Silver King

Can ZSJ finally beat a Mexican? Probably not. I think the card would’ve been more interesting with ZSJ vs Alberto and Santo vs Silver King, but Sabre probably is just here because he’s a indie name people in charge have heard of but not actually seen.

Lucha Memes (SUN) 10/01/2017 Coliseo Coacalco, Coacalco, Estado de México
1) Notoryus Fly & Psycho Kid vs Ciclón Infernal & Súper Dragons
2) Aramis vs Sansón
3) Impulso vs Tiger [falls count anywhere]
4) Imposible vs Titán (CMLL)
5) Soberano Jr. © vs El Bandido [MEX WELTER]
first defense
6) 19 Y 1/2 vs Gato De Ecatepec123456789101112131415161718 [Memes Rumble]

There’s 4 matches there I would’ve really liked to been able to see.

  1. Is i remember, MDA co-produced with Lucha Memes the Naucalpan show that had the Negro Navarro vs. ZSJ match…so they give ZSJ a more dinamic opponent…Alberto vs. ZSJ could be great, but it would depend on how they are at that day…as it is said by some…

  2. Some past MDA shows have been done with Lucha Memes, but I believe this one is MDA alone.

I know the actual deal is Santo and Alberto are both only working the main event and Silver King’s the guy they know and trust so it’s a three way and ZSJ has to be in another match. But it’s less fun that way.

  3. You can tell when MDA works with Dhani because the cards have more star power since they provide the money. Like Dhani’s show on 10/1 is no MDA so he has no money and presents a card like that. It has some good matches but it’s not worth discussing since he doesn’t understand how to monetize it & works with Mas Lucha to film it who are only interested in collecting footage, not distributing it as far as I’m aware.

They actually would make great regular partners since Dhani knows how to book good matches but never has any actual money meanwhile MDA always has money but have no idea what matches are interesting or who to book from outside Mexico.
