Diamante Azul’s team won in straight falls, setting up a title match with Marco Corleone next week.

The Sugehit/Zeuxis match seemed fun from what I saw but the rest of the show doesn’t sound like it went well.

Today’s CMLL show is nothing special. Last week’s show set up an Ultimo Guerrero/Mistico feud, which probably will be a singles match next week. They already made it clear it’ll happen and wanted it to happen this week, so they’re just killing time this week. UG should be back from the UK in time to wrestle that match next week. This week, he teams with Cavernario & Negro Casas and Mistico with Rush & Valiente.

Drone versus Puma should be a fun lightning match. Maya, Idol & Cometa face Misterioso, Sagrado and Virus could be good. The opener has Fiero & Retro making a stream, which is the first CMLL YouTube appearance for Retro ever. It’s still not a promising card.

Guadalajara has Diamante Azul vs Euforia. Arena Aficion has a Mexico vs the World match of their own with any foreigner available.

CMLL announced they’d have a press conference on Wednesday to talk about the Anniversario main event. I’m setting my expectations at Diamante Azul/Rush & Niebla Roja/Gran Guerrero so it can only turn out better than expecting. On Friday, Zeuxis and Princesa Sugehit were saying they hadn’t heard from CMLL’s Programming department or Paco Alonso if they’re on the Anniversario, which is very believable.

I think Matt Taven & Juice Robinson may be at the press conference as well to promote the Gran Prix, and possibly the crew going to the UK to promote that.

Dr. Wagner says Psycho Clown has more to lose in the mask match, because he’ll disappoint his family, his friends, and his entire promotion.

+Lucha’s podcast talked to Heavy Metal and Extreme Tiger about being possibly part of the Copa TripleMania match. Heavy Metal sounded like he wasn’t interested and wasn’t in it right now but didn’t 100% rule out his mind being changed later. It was harder to make out Tiger’s audio but he didn’t seem like he’d be participating either.

Powerbomb.TV says Puma King is returning on 10/22 for their FUTURES show, which will also have the final of their tag team tournament.

Villano IV says he’s forming a civil association, Dinastia Imperial, to fight for better conditions. One of the problems with this idea and Octagon’s idea are these are being fronted by people who are at the end of their career and don’t have much leverage to force the changes they’d like to see.

5) Marco Corleone © vs Diamante Azul [CMLL HEAVY]
3rd defense

Not a super promising match.

A title change doesn’t seem out of the question; Azul would’ve been the favorite to win the title had he been around. They could have him win it to build him up if he has a big match in September, or they could have Rush cost him the match for the saem reason.

Robinson & Taven are working Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and probably Tuesday.

  1. Zeuxis/Sujei lacked the intensity of their last Puebla title match imo, but the Kraneo/Soberano etc. match was quite enjoyable. I recommend giving that a watch.

  2. Toro Bill Jr is still MIA in CMLL. Ever since he was replaced in (no-showed) that tercera, he hasn’t been back on a CMLL card. I think he has been (semi) active on the Indies.

  3. Heavy Metal! where’s he been? was starting to worry he might be ill or something.

Doesn’t seem to have been in AAA for 3 or 4 years now
