4) Bestia 666 & Black Taurus (Indie) b Delta & Jack Evans
Black Taurus is officially part of Rebelion Yellow. Bestia beat Jack.
5) The King (Rey Fenix) b Rey Horus ©Sammy GuevaraÚltimo Ninja[The Crash CRUISER] Campeonato Crucero The Crash: Rey Horus vs. Fenix vs. Sammy Guevara vs. Ultimo Ninja (posted by Luchamania Monterrey)
Fenix won the title. Money thrown in.
6) Daga b Garza Jr.
Yellow Rebelion distracted Daga, but he came back and surprised and overconfident Garza with a cradle. Bestia, Garza, Ultimo Ninja and Taurus beat up Daga and Fenix when he tried to make the save.

Attendance looks weaker than you’d expect for this show. The Crash already teased a heavyweight title tournament but they really should just stick with the cruiserweight title as their only main title; most of their guys are that size, they already have the title on a top guy, and they’ve got enough personal issues that they don’t need a third different singles title right now. They’re going to add a heavyweight title and bring back the tag titles because having titles to keep luchadors happy is what Mexican promotions do, but it’s a waste of time.

No one’s quite sure when Black Taurus joined Yellow Rebelion – if only it was a possible for a promotion to explain their own storylines to people who don’t go to shows – but he already had a yellow mask made so it must’ve been planned before this run of shows.

This is what I think the factions are, but I’m not 100%
Rebelion Red: Fenix, Penta, Rey Mysterio, Daga, Zorro…and maybe Damian, he might have joined in Mexicali
Rebelion Yellow: Garza, Ultimo Ninja, Bestia 666, Black Taurus
La Mascara, M-ximo and Rey Escorpion are their own Ingobernable thing, but allied with the Yellow group at the moment.

The Crash debuts in San Luis Potosi tonight. Main event is Blue Demon, Rey Mysterio and Fenix against La Mascara, M-ximo and Rey Escorpion. Daga & Zorro team are scheduled to face Garza & Ultimo Ninja. Zorro posted his plane ticket to the show, so he’ll be there. Keyra is supposed to face Chik Tormenta & Lady Maravilla, but I’d assume Maravilla is off the show. Rey Celestial, who won the minis division of the last AAA talent search, debuts in the segunda of this card.

Nicho is having the first of two knee operations today.

IWRG (Black Terry) vs Indy Nation (Centrvion). Gallo Frances interfered to cost IWRG (and probably Black Dragon) the match. Back to back wins for Indy Nation.
6) Emperador Azteca © b Arez [IWRG IC WELTER]
first defense. Glenn Calavera interfered frequently. Dinamic Black tried to count, but he was caught by the referee and ejected. Azteca still retained. Arez threatened to come after Arez’s mask.

This show may turn up Saturday on AYM and there’s a good chance +LuchaTV will post it. I don’t know what Indy Nation’s goals are, but it helps to be successful if you want people to get interested in you, and winning the two Higher Powers are a start. Stealing a title would be better.

AAA’s Japan office announced the return of the Lucha World Cup in Tokyo. They’ll have a Lucha Underground focused show on 10/09, then this year’s edition of the LWC on 10/10. There had been reports of the LWC happening in Japan this year going back to before last year’s edition, but not much talk this year – the last it came up in the spring, the locations were either the US or Mexico. This seems like it’ll be a scaled down competition, but we’ll know when AAA in Mexico announces it. Lucha Underground has been airing on SamuraiTV the last year, with Season 2 beginning this past Friday.

This week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentions Fenix & Garza are going to NOAH in October. I don’t think dates have been announced for that tour yet. NOAH usually participates in the Lucha World Cup, and would be expected to be here, even while working with other guys normally. I’m sure they’d like to have all the people who are in The Crash, but they’re all announced for a show in Torreon the day before so they’re not planning on coming.

CMLL announced King Haku is off the 09/01 Gran Prix. It reads like it’s visa problems. ROH’s Kenny King will replace him, which means ROH will now have more than 1 person on the team. Kenny King has been appearing on this season’s The Bachelorette, though it hasn’t seemed to build a bigger reaction for him in ROH.

Dhani of Lucha Memes says tickets for the Anniversary will be 100 pesos ($5.58 USD) on the low end. If right, that’s going to open the show up to people who’ve been priced out the last few years. The low end of the tickets was 300 pesos for the three big years, and down to 189 last year (including service fees, which might not be in that 100 peso price.) The other way of looking at this is CMLL is acknowledging they don’t have the kind of the card for this show they’ve had in past years and have to make it easier to get in. The high end price for Pierroth/Azul in match show was 1849 pesos, and I’d guess it’ll be the same here.

Lucha Memes also officially announced they’re running the Sunday after the Gran Prix, 09/03, in Coacalco. They hinted at a show the Sunday after the Anniversary show as well, but haven’t officially announced it or the location yet.

ROH announced Titan & Mistico will team KUSHIDA to face Naito, SANADA and BUSHI on 08/20 as part of their UK tour. That should be a fun match. ROH’s description of Titan & Mistico’s history is completely wrong, but no one’s going to correct it unless I tweet directly at ROH and I’d rather them be wrong rather than playing their copy editor every single time.

El Siglo de Torreon talks to Mano Negra about his life. Mano Negra’s story about his name is he wanted to be a masked wrestler when he was training, so he would always cover his face with his hand in photos. Lucha Libre magazine editor Valente Perez saw one of the photos, where not-yet-Mano’s hand appeared black because of the flash, remembered John Carlos & Tommy Smith’s protest from the Mexico City Olympics three years ago, and came up with the name Mano Negra. The glove, which Sanely’s since adopted as an opera glove, is a direct reference to that moment. The mask design was one sent in by fans in Mil Mascaras mask design contest. Laguna luchador New Warrior is mentioned to be Mano Negra’s grandson (and so, a fourth generation luchador.)

Taya says she’s got new gear she’s saving for something secret in a few weeks. TripleMania is in a few weeks, guess it could be that. For what it’s worth, Taya & Johnny Mundo are mentioned as denying their issues with AAA are a work from the beginning in the WON.

Zeuxis told ClaroSports that her dream growing up was never to be a luchadora, but she saw the Marcela/Dark Angel title match and she was into it from there.

Impact Wrestling tonight has Hijo del Fantasma & Marufuji vs Laredo Kid & Garza Jr..

TKD and CultIcon recap last night’s Lucha Underground.

AAA posted Zona Ruda, who had Dark Cuervo & Psycho Clown as guests.

Hey, it’s a mystery person in the main event, Mascara can start the Rush rumors and Garza can start the Pagano rumors and it’ll be like Silver King or something.

(Or the lineup doesn’t really matter since Maravilla probably isn’t working this show.)
