Attendance looks good, but not great and the building looks really dark. I’m not sure who was actually promoting it but they must have been throwing some money at this one.

The latest Sexy Star/Dulce Garcia update is her next fight will be August 5th. No opponent has been announced. She’s also saying now that she’s never ever thinking about retiring from wrestling any more, she just is focused on boxing and doesn’t want to have to cancel wrestling if something changes with her boxing. She previously said she was retiring from wrestling in Mexico after her last The Crash date. In the article, Sexy Star, the woman who no showed her last AAA date as part of quitting the company, talks about how she’s always fulfilled her dates. She’s amazing.

CMLL (SUN) 07/02/2017 Arena México

4) Diamante Azul b Rush

5) Carístico, Mistico, Niebla Roja DQ Euforia, Shocker, Último Guerrero
UG unmasked Niebla Roja again, but Roja at least got him to commit to a singles match next week.

Azul/Rush sounds like what they’ve done before, which hasn’t been much good. Doing the UG/Niebla Roja singles match on the non-TV match is typically weird for CMLL, but it won’t be the first one if (when) they run into each other Friday.

AAA being weird

On his facebook, Vampiro blames other people for his inability to call Taya before he took the Reina de Reinas title away from her. He apologizes in there too. It’s unclear if that means Vamprio has now called Taya: usually that’ll lead to the angry wrestler backing off or even deleting the angry social media posts. Taya is still posting not happy messages, ones that would lead you to expect she’s not coming back. This could all still be easily turned into a storyline down the road but it doesn’t appear like it’s become one yet.

Vamp also tries re-explaining his storyline and stating that is a storyline. I’m sure people understood that, they were all making fun of it for being a really dumb storyline. AAA would’ve been better off if Vampiro didn’t post anything on Facebook on this.

AAA & the Crash on Slammiversary

LAX kept the tag titles over AAA’s Drago & Fantasma, NOAH’s Noamichi Marufuji & Taiji Ishimori and The Crash’s Laredo Kid & Garza Jr. It was the The Crash team that took the loss, which probably was the safest political move. The wrestlers themselves don’t appear to have any particular problem with each other,, it’s management as always.

Representatives of AAA, NOAH and The Crash were shown before the match. Dorian Roldan was there representing AAA. I’m not sure who was The Crash rep, since Konnan was with LAX and Nacho was in Oaxaca for that Crash show.

Alberto won the GFW & Impact title in the main event, with Dos Caras and Hijo de Dos Caras getting involved.

The AAA & The Crash wrestlers are expected to be on the TV tapings this week

NJPW US

On today’s NJPW USA show, the team of Juice Robinson, Jay White, Volador Jr., Dragon Lee, and Titan defeated the LIJ with White beating BUSHI. This match was said to be longer and better than yesterday’s show, where the Titan took the loss to BUSHI.

During the show, Ricochet made an run-in and took a not-so-veiled shot at Lucha Underground. He blamed them for not appearing on the show.  That might have not been the actual reason Ricochet wasn’t booked. It’s still someone still in a lot of Lucha Underground episodes – including the one coming up this Wednesday! – saying negative things about the company in a way to draw attention to his comments.

That statement to PWInsider trying to explain how AAA wrestlers were able to wrestle in Impact but other Lucha Underground wrestlers were not allowed to wrestle elsewhere seemed like a reference to this situation before it happened. Ricochet doesn’t seem like the only person upset with Lucha Underground, but he’s the one who acted on it. It’ll be worth watching if LU does anything back – or, more importantly, runs some shows or does anything else to ease the very obvious frustration a lot of people have with them right now.

NJPW announced they’d be back in 2018. That was expected: they sold out these shows so fast that of course they’d be coming back, and maybe the news is they won’t be coming back sooner than 2018. Early speculation is on NJPW running a show WrestleMania weekend in New Orleans, which would means CMLL wrestlers being part of that weekend of shows.

Other Items

Matt Tremont kept the GCW title over Crazy King on the Saturday DTU in Arena Roberto Paz.

Lucha Underground posted a Dante Fox promo, which seems overdue.
