Hechicero took falls 1/3 to retain. 3rd defense

Main event was pretty good, about as good as you’re getting from Atlantis in a singles match outside of September. Hechicero did the his SSP that he’s been doing of late and not really landing all that cleanly, and this time landing not that cleanly meant his knee smashed Atlantis’ nose. Atlantis was bleeding thru the third fall.

The rest of the show was rushed and they still went pretty long. At least I know now why they bothered to do the women’s match, since that’s a feud now. Ares & Espiritu actually interacted at the end of their match.

Tonight’s CMLL show should be one of the best Tuesday night shows of the year. It’s an oddly loaded lineup with 2 for 1 ticket discount which should provide a lot bigger crowd than usual. The main even is a rematch of an excellent match from last year, Volador putting up the NWA Welterweight Championship against Cavernario. The caveman has won in straight falls in the last two matches. A title change is unlikely but it’s likely the match will be pretty good.

The semimain has Caristico & Mistico teaming up again, with Valiente as the third partner, against the Hijos del Infierno, which looks good. The fourth match has Blue Panther, Fuego and Drone taking on Cuatrero, Sanson and Sam Adonis, which looks good. The third match has the Panther brothers & Pegasso against Puma, Tiger and Virus, which looks good. The second match has Magnus, Metatron, Oro Jr. versus Akuma, Canelo Casas, and Sangre Azteca, which looks….not so good. The opener is a minis match that’s probably skippable too, but it’s going to be a good night if you tune in about 40 minutes after start time. The show proper starts at 7:30pm on CMLL’s YouTube page.

Guadalajara has the return of Diamante Azul, teaming with Marco & Niebla Roja versus Pierroth, Rush and Shocker.

Lucha Libre y Pasion announced Marty Scurll is coming in for their next show (which I guess confirms they have a next show.) No date, location announced. It’s also the oddness of a ROH/NJPW wrestling coming to Mexico City and apparently not working for CMLL or Lucha Memes (though I suppose this could be an extra match part of the Gran Prix?)

Rush faces LA Park on 07/29 in Arena Lopez Mateos on another Super Astros show. No word yet who else will be on that show.

Freelance/Mike Segura is currently listed on the DTU show in Arena Roberto Paz (Guadalajara), the Invasion Independente show in Arena Neza, and the FILLM in Arena Lopez Mateos show on July 1st. That’s not going to work. Dulce Garica (Sexy Star) is also listed on the Arena Neza show, after previously said she’s not wrestling any more in Mexico.

AIW posted the Flamita vs Alex Daniels vs DJZ match from last year. It’s a real fun match you should go out of your way to watch. AIW’s Chandler Biggins passed away early this morning. I didn’t know him outside of listening to AIW’s wildly entertaining podcast, but the news knocked the air out of me when I heard it this morning. My condolences to everyone who knew him.

+LuchaTV’s latest podcast has interviews with Hugo Savinovich, Ultimo Ninja, Draztick Boy and Flamita.

AULL referee Sovietico passed away.

LuchaWorld has this week’s Poster-Mania.

Black Terry beat Latigo in the main event of the Rudos Neza show.

51 year old Blue Demon says it’s too early too think about a successor.

Lady Flammer won the LLF championship.

Mortiz won Crazy Frank’s hair in Tijuana.

There’s a Wednesday show announced on Tuesday, seems about right. The main event has students from Arena 23 de Junio as the opposition.

CMLL (MON) 06/26/2017 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano & Vega vs El Perverso & Joker
2) Estrellita & Sanely vs Amapola & Dalys
3) Espíritu Maligno, Fuego, Pegasso vs Ares, Arkángel de la Muerte, Canelo Casas
4) Drone, Johnny Idol, Stuka Jr. vs Felino, Puma, Tiger
5) Dragón Lee vs Negro Casas [lightning]
6) Pierroth, Rush, Último Guerrero vs Niebla Roja, Rey Bucanero, Terrible [Relevos Increíbles]

Main event is bad? Probably bad! I’m excited for Ultimo Guerrero’s invisible soccer moves.

Semimian should be better and fourth match has a chance. Women’s match has to be setting up Dalys versus Estrellita or Dallys versus Sanely. Probably the first one.

Ares & Espiritu are having a hair match in a few weeks based on long feud they haven’t been having, I’m assuming. It’s so dumb.

One thought to “Hechicero keeps title over Atlantis, Volador/Cavernario tonight, IWRG FILL tomorrow”

  1. Canelo Casas getting more bookings in Arena Puebla than either Batallion member… Toro Bill Jr. hasn’t been booked since being replaced in that tercera a few weeks back. Canelo almost makes me miss week after week of Stigma/Skandalo.
It looks like Joker might have permanently lost the mini/pequeno
