What happened:

Electrico & Pequeno Nitro

Barbaro Cavernario decided he must destroy Volador for reasons which were only obvious to the caveman. He attacked Volador from the moment he got the win and defeated him cleanly for the win.

Thoughts:

Slightly interesting show.

Cavernario angry!

Cavernario & Volador have really good chemistry, and Cavernario was moving around super fast in the ending sequence. That match is going to be great. Not sure I’ve seen Stuka do the headscissors escape to his feet before. Shocker doesn’t look good, it’s going to be a long time until he’s there if he’s going to ever be there, and it’s going to be tough to have a good match with him involved. He’d be better off being the commentator instead of Hechicero.

The Dinamitas/Panthers match wasn’t quite as good as some of the other matches, with the NGD holding back a bit, but The Panther made up for it by looking super the whole way. He came off as one of the best dozen guys in CMLL, with the first fall finish specifically needing to be brought back in a bigger spot. Blue Panther Sr. also did a lot of his crazy old man stuff (attacking the cameraman!) which really worked for the crowd.

Sangre Imperial

The Titan/Ephesto lightning match wasn’t much. A lot of Titan throwing himself around to create action when Ephesto wasn’t doing much. The tercera was entertaining for Stigma trying to do mat wrestling with Virus to start and getting nothing. Fuego woke the crowd up, who hadn’t been into it much before.

The minis match had the rare bit of a team losing one person via elimination and coming back to win. It was used in the first fall where it didn’t really make an impact, but you could they were trying to do something there. It didn’t quite work, but it did give us better pace and some dives.

And Sangre Imperial looked terrible on a missed springboard in the first match and not much better rest of the way. It’s hard to understand why he’s there except being Sangre Chicana’s son, because he hasn’t impressed at all.
