LyC The Crash (SUN) 04/09/2017 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [Lo Mejor de Lucha, MedioTiempo (1-3), MedioTiempo (5-6)]
1) Babe Fox, Chocolata, Mini Hator b Faceman, La Bestia, Mini Difunto
2) Epydemius & Ninja Jr. b Psicótico & Titanik
4) Laredo Kid b Juventud Guerrera, Arez, Rico Rodríguez © [LyC CRUISER]
Laredo Kid is new champ
5) Zorro b X-Fly, El Divo
Zorro beat X-Fly & Divo. Ultimo Ninja was moved up.
5) Daga & Rey Fénix (US) b Sammy Guevara & Último Ninja
Ultimo Ninja replaced DJZ
6) Garza Jr., Penta El Zero M, Rey Mysterio Jr. b Bestia 666, Damián 666, Nicho el Millionario

This one sounds like it was more successful the The Crash show, with attendance guesses ranging from 90% to a total sell out. I haven’t heard much about the matches.

IWRG (SUN) 04/09/2017 Arena Naucalpan [+LuchaTV, The Gladiatores]
1) Shadow Boy b Keiser Drago
2) Aramis & Black Dragón b Lunatik Xtreme & Skanda
3) Diablo Jr. I, El Hijo del Diablo, Imposible b Demasiado, Diva Salvaje, Nigma [EdM Trios]
Title change! Exoticos fall on first defense.
4) Cerebro Negro b Relámpago
Cerebro wants a middleweight title shot.
5) Leo, Mike, Rafy, Teelo b Black Terry, Demonio Infernal, Hip Hop Man, Ovett
6) Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. b Dr. Cerebro, Heddi Karaoui, Herodes Jr.
Fishman & Joaquin Roldan were remembered with a moment of applause before the main event. Pirata beat Herodes to set up challenges.

Hooray for the Mariachis. Hijo del Pirata is back and getting a top feud immediately.

The biggest match on today’s Puebla show is Espiritu Maligno & Policeman putting up their hair. They’ve been feuding for about a month, but it’s been pretty one sided. Policeman sent Maligno packing to the tecnico side, then beat him in every match until last week. Any outcome is possible when it comes to Puebla locals, but Policeman being so dominant until the end suggests Espiritu is going to win.

The rest of the show are ordinary stuff with some build to next week. The main event is a rematch, Rush, La Mascara and Atlantis taking on Volador, Maximo and Marco. They seemed to be setting up Atlantis versus one of the two Ingobernables last week, but we’ve seen more frequent changes of feuds in progress of late. Mistico, Titan and Valiente take on Cavernario, Negro Casas and Niebla Roja in semimian, and Dronge, Fuego, Stigma face Disturbio, Puma & Tiger in the third, two trios matches which could be good. Black Tiger & Tigre Rojo Jr. team against Fuerza Chicana & King Jaguar, and Asturiano & Zaeta Roja open against Joker & Rey Apocalipsis.

The show will air at 9pm on CMLL’s YouTube channel.

A news report on Joaquin Roldan’s wake.

LuchaWorld has this week’s Poster-Mania.

A YouTube star is accusing Coco Rojo and others acting as arena security of beating him up as a wrestling show. (It might have been at the The Crash show on Wednesday.) He posted a video about this, of course.

Picudo said Pagano is a copy of him. This comes off like Picudo would really like a match with Pagano.

Lineup

CMLL (SAT) 04/15/2017 Arena Coliseo
1) Robin & Sangre Imperial vs Artillero & Templario
2) Estrellita, La Jarochita, Marcela vs Dalys, La Metálica, Reyna Isis
3) Guerrero Maya Jr., Johnny Idol, Rey Cometa vs Rey Bucanero, Sam Adonis, Vangellys
4) Ángel de Oro, Dragón Lee, Titán vs Hechicero, Kráneo, Ripper
5) Marco Corleone, Máximo Sexy, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Pierroth

Like Yago, Templario was around last spring, came back for about a match in October, and then hasn’t been on CMLL shows for six months until resurfacing here. I feel like there’s a moderately good story we’re not getting, but it’s also CMLL so there could be no reason at all. Anyway, he’s a rudo now I guess.

CMLL (SUN) 04/16/2017 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Avispón Negro Jr. & Micro vs Guerrero de la Muerte & Quca
2) Black Sugar & Capitán Cobra vs Destello & Destructor
3) Dark Fire & El Alteño vs Gran Kenut & Payaso Infernal
4) Nautilius & Star Black vs Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno
5) Omar Brunetti, Sky Kid, Smaker vs Frezzer, Furia Roja, Mosco X Fly

Payaso Infenral & Dark Fire are back in from Sinaloa. X-Fly is back in from everywhere. They may be setting up something out of the semifinal.

CMLL (SUN) 04/16/2017 Arena México
1) Magia Blanca, Magnus, Star Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Inquisidor, Nitro
2) Blue Panther Jr., Fuego, Starman vs Forastero, Puma, Virus
3) Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Titán vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Felino, Pólvora
4) Dragón Lee © vs Cavernario [CMLL SL]
5th defense
5) Diamante Azul, Marco Corleone, Volador Jr. vs Mephisto, Pierroth, Último Guerrero

Dragon Lee & Cavernario had that match on FantasticaMania and it was pretty good.

CMLL (THU) 04/20/2017 Arena Coliseo
1) Zoom Driver vs José Marquez
2) Canek Jr., Hijo del Solar, Ultramán Jr. vs Fishman Jr., Herodes Jr., Universo 2000 Jr.
3) Blue Panther & Solar I vs Black Terry & Negro Navarro
4) Ángel de Oro, Atlantis, Mano Negra vs Fuerza Guerrera, Máscara Año 2000, Mr. Niebla
5) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Último Guerrero vs Canek, Rush, Villano IV

This is the ring Ringo Mendoza benefit show, with some unusual names working the show and two kickboxing matches (I have no idea why.) Villano IV working for AAA and working a main event of a CMLL endorsed show is very strange.

One thought to “Rebelion in Monterrey, Mariachis champs, Puebla preview, CMLL weekend lineups”

  1. Nothing on the lucha side on Mty(CRASH). Daga/Rey Fénix vs Sammy/one of the ninjas worth the 100 pesos.
Only 5 matches with a lot of dead time, girls came out and do same dance routine twice and too much Roberto Figueroa.
