Attendance was just about normal for the barely hyped Anniversary show, maybe up a little. They did have a ceremony to start the night to mark the occasion.

1) Acero & Aéreo b Pequeño Olímpico & Pequeño Violencia
2) Forastero, Misterioso Jr., Virus b Oro Jr., Star Jr., Starman

3) Fuego, Johnny Idol, Rey Cometa b Bobby Villa, Luciferno, Vangellys
tecnicos took 1/3
4) Guerrero Maya Jr., Titán, Valiente b Gran Guerrero, Niebla Roja, Ripper
Niebla Roja & Gran Guerrero could not get along and lost easily.
5) Carístico, Dragón Lee, Mistico b Cavernario, Felino, Mephisto
Dragon Lee came back from ROH on an early morning flight. Rudos took 1/3, Cavernario submitting Dragon Lee

Niebla Roja’s only match this upcoming week is the Rey del Aire, so it may be slow going on wherever they’re headed with him.

Freedom Bar and Grill announced their Arena Mexico restaurant will open on May 12th. They’ll have service only on days CMLL is running shows, Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. It’s unclear if it’ll be outside of show time.

AAA’s Octagoncito did appear in Tijuana as the new Mini Rey Misterio, with Rey Misterio Sr. endorsing him. However, that Octagoncito said he was still in AAA. I’m not sure how he can be in AAA and work with a different gimmick on shows with Ciberentico and LA Park, among other issues.

Mocho Cota Jr., Soul Rocker and Carta Brava Jr. have dubbed themselves the Nuevo Poder del Norte. The old Poder del Norte was Mocho (Tigre) Cota Jr., Tito Santana (who’s now Soul Rocker) and Rio Bravo. That last one was a problem, because there ended up being two different people under the Rio Bravo name – just like there’s two different Carta Bravas.

DTU announced Dezmond Xavier will be coming in at some point.

LA Park vs Rush vs Lashely vs Hechicero aired on a Facebook page.

MiedoTiempo has an interview with The Crash’s promoter. No news in this, but it does seem like they’re trying to do media to get some more hype for their debut on Wednesday. It’s tough with no regular presence in Mexico City.

LuchaWorld has the latest news update.

Lineups

CMLL (SAT) 04/08/2017 Arena Coliseo
1) Magia Blanca & Marvel vs Grako & Yago
2) Estrellita, La Vaquerita, Marcela vs Amapola, Tiffany, Zeuxis
3) Drone, Fuego, Soberano Jr. vs El Cuatrero, Forastero, Sansón
4) Blue Panther, Johnny Idol, Titán vs Luciferno, Misterioso Jr., Sam Adonis
5) Diamante Azul, Marco Corleone, Stuka Jr. vs Ephesto, Kráneo, Mephisto

Tercera would be fun if we could see it. Estrellita is back. Yago exists again! He was the vaguely Averno looking rudo who had a few matches in spring, popped up once in October, and hasn’t been seen much at all. He was wrestling indies and then stopped that too.

CMLL (SUN) 04/09/2017 Arena México
1) Bengala & Leono vs Apocalipsis & Cholo
2) Magnus, Pegasso, Stigma vs Hijo del Signo, Metálico, Nitro
3) Fuego, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa vs Puma, Skándalo, Tiger
4) Marco Corleone, Máximo Sexy, Valiente vs Kráneo, Pierroth, Rush
5) Cavernario, Felino, Mr. Niebla vs Atlantis, Dragón Lee, Volador Jr.

CMLL is setting up Dragon Lee/Cavernario to take place on the non-taped show and I’m going to lose my mind.

CMLL (SUN) 04/09/2017 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Avispón Negro Jr. vs Quca
2) Black Sugar & Johnny Dinamo vs Relámpago Azul & Thunder Boy
3) Tigre Blanco © vs Linterna [SINALOA WELTER]
4) Explosivo, Mágico, Metatrón vs Évola, Ráfaga, Sádico
5) Magnum, Nautilius, Star Black vs Joker, Mr. Trueno, Rey Trueno

The Sinaloa Welterweight championship seems like it might be a real thing – I have a record of a match for the vacant title in 2015 with Tigre Blanco involved – but not a particularly active thing, and it seems like Guadalajara should have about a half dozen titles of their own to play with.
