If you’ve been in withdrawal over not seeing Diamante Azul fight Pierroth for a whole four days, CMLL’s got you covered today. The usual spate of mask matches rematches continues tonight in Arena Mexico, with the two people in last week’s mask match meeting in the main event. Azul teams with Matt Taven & Volador Jr. against the Ingobenables.

The best match of the night is Dragon Lee versus Niebla Roja in a lightning match. They’ve had two singles matches off of TV already, which were probably pretty good considering their interactions in trios matches. The time limit will reduce what they can get in, but it still should be pretty fun.

The only other important match on the show is the women’s match, where Zeuxis & Princesa Sugehit also continue to fight. It’s Sugehit, Sanely, and Sileuta against Dalys, Reina Isis and Zeuxis. Zeuxis & Sugehit have a title match Monday in Puebla, but the feud seems like it might be more than that. CMLL’s about four weeks away from a medium sized show in celebration of the Arena Mexico building’s anniversary, and they’ll usually have at least one important match for it. It’s still too soon to tell, and they have time to come up with something new tonight, but Sugehit/Zeuxis seems like the strongest pushed match (especially with Soberano & Misterioso disappearing for a couple weeks.)

Ther rest of the card includes Peste Negra taking on Angel de Oro, Mistico and Valiente in the semimain. Maximo, Stuka, Titan and Hechicero face Hechicero, Kraneo & Ripper. The show opens with Electrico & Shockercito versus Demus & Pierrothito. All these matches could be good, but nothing’s a standout card.

CultIcon previews the show. The show starts 8:30 local, which is still one hour later than usual if you’re on Daylight Savings Time. We’re almost thru this period, just nine more days. The show is back on ClaroSports tonight.

CMLL also mentions both title matches (Dragon Rojo/Angel de Oro & Princesa Sugehit/Zeuxis) coming up in the next few days.

It’s a busy Friday night elsewhere. DTU has a big show in Arena Aficion with Daisuke Masaoka & Takashi Sasaki in from Japan’s FREEDOMS promotion. (Ayako Hamada is booked but no CMLL luchadors are; this makes more sense now that we know Ayako’s back in AAA.) This was going to be an iPPV at one point, but it didn’t happen for whatever reason. The main event is Ciclope vs Masasoka. It’s listed as a non-title thumbtacks/extreme match right now, but Masaoka says he’s defending his King of Freedom’s title in Mexico and this is the only singles match he’s announced in, so it’ll probably be changed tonight.

Ancla promotions runs Arena San Juan, with a sure to be chop hard hitting Ultimo Guerrero versus Wotan match. There’s an Elite branded show in Arena Xalapa.

+Lucha has a bunch of interviews from Rey de Reyes, including one with Vampiro. At about the five minute mark, Vampiro talks about the long announced Wagner/Psycho mask. Or, more accurately, he says “if the match happens”, suggesting it might. That’s not a good thing to suggest when you’ve been selling tickets for two months by promising people are going to see that match. The comments jump all over Vampiro for saying if, mostly because everyone’s just anticipating AAA backing it’s way out of a match they swore up and down they’re going to have. It’s probably still happening.

SuperLuchas’s article on the AAA/Impact/Crash situation clarifies the situation with a show being canceled in San Luis Potosi on Wednesday. The show was scheduled to have Penta & Daga versus Aeroboy & Violento Jack. The luchadors got to the building, the fans got to the building, but the building itself was closed by local government.  It turns out the local lucha libre commmission also just happens to be the local promoter for AAA, and it sure seems like he used that power to keep a rival promotion out.

LuchaRama has started announcing shows for their 04/08 return in Mexico City

Pentagon Jr. hypes the Crash main event. The Crash says they’re going to Oaxaca soon.
