CMLL (SAT) 03/04/2017 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Bengala, Leono, Sensei b Apocalipsis, Cholo, Grako
tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Akuma, Artillero, Inquisidor b Astral, Príncipe Diamante, Sangre Imperial
Rudos took 1/3. Money thrown in.
3) Puma, Tiger, Virus b Drone, Guerrero Maya Jr., Soberano Jr.
4) Blue Panther, Blue Panther Jr., The Panther b Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto
Panthers took falls 2/3 and asked for a title shot. Rudos said OK
5) Ángel de Oro, Carístico, Marco Corleone DQ La Máscara, Pierroth, Rush
Angel de Oro replaced Valiente. Tecnicos took 2/3, the last when Rush fouled Marco.

The Casas family is owed a title shot and has repeatedly beaten the Panthers, I don’t think there’s a been a miscarriage of justice which was so obviously going to happen. Tiger, Puma and Negro Casas are never getting that title match.

CMLL (SUN) 03/05/2017 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Grako, Hijo del Signo, Metálico b Flyer, Magia Blanca, Starman
2) Estrellita, Princesa Sugehit, Sanely b Reyna Isis, Tiffany, Zeuxis
3) Shockercito b Pierrothito [CMLL MINI]
Shockercito took falls 1/3 to win the vacant title (Astral moving up divisions.) Shockercito becomes 14th champion, wins the belt for the first time.
4) Ángel de Oro, Marco Corleone, Volador Jr. b Rey Bucanero, Sam Adonis, Terrible
Adonis choked out Marco with his flag after the match.
5) Atlantis, Dragón Lee, Mistico DQ Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero
Tecnicos took 2/3. Niebla Roja unmasked Dragon Lee for the DQ.

Niebla Roja/Dragon Lee is a match they’ve already done on Coliseo where we didn’t see it (may have been taped for Retro but never aired), so I’ll be actually disappointed if they’re doing it again on another non-TV taping. The media attention on Sam Adonis does not look to be dying down, maybe CMLL will actually do something with him.

I tried to figure out what I should write about, and then I remembered I had a list of things that were going to happen this week. Let’s just use that!

Saturday

  • Dragon Lee defeated Will Ospreay in Ring of Honor in what was said to be an excellent match, though a little overshadowed by other news on the show. The show will be a $15 VOD available on ROH’s site at some point, and they’re obviously setting up something to give Dragon Lee a win. Long term, this year’s NJPW BOSJ is going to be the best junior tournament NJPW’s ever run.
  • The Brazo de Plata tribute/benefit show was well attended, though I think every single match on the card was changed (to the point where I’m not entirely sure I have the correct results); even the autograph signing was changed, with Texano replacing Goya Kong. Porky was seen walking around with a cane, which means he probably hasn’t yet got the leg operations he needs, but maybe this’ll help.
  • HUMO’s women show saw Lola Gonzalez, Marcela and Diabolica (Monterrey/Tiffany’s mom version) honored. The one notable result saw Vaquerita defeat Keira, which may set up a REINA title match between the two.
  • RIOT in fact did not have the Jack Evans versus Sammy Guevera match; Jack is still on crutches. Sounds like the crowd took the change well. I haven’t see results from the show yet, just a crazy dive.
  • Fenix did not win the AAW title, losing to Sami Callihan when Sami pulled off his mask again. Show was generally good.

Sunday

  • AAA’s show had a lot of changes! That’ll be a different post, kind of concerned I’m going to miss something before we see the official results.
  • Danny Casas ended up with his head shaved in IWRG. More details on that show tomorrow.
  • Virus vs Dr. Cerbero sounds like the standout match from the Lucha Memes show. Black Terry Jr. has photos of that shows.

AAA’s posted this week’s TV show.

LuchaWorld has the latest Lucha Report.

Dragon Rojo is scheduled to defend the CMLL Middleweight title on next Sunday in Arena Pavillon del Norte, which would be his 18th known defense.

Lineups

Lucha Memes (SAT) 03/25/2017 Arena Coliseo San Ramón, Puebla, Puebla
1) Astrolux vs Black Metal (Estado de México)
2) Toxin Boy vs Arkalis
3) Prayer vs Virus
4) Sammy Guevara vs Impulso
5) Centella de Oro vs Hechicero (CMLL)

There’s little chance we’ll see this, but Centella de Oro was always interesting when he was still wrestling in Arena Puebla so that main event sounds good.
