CMLL Puebla: 2017-02-20

I don’t know.

Recapped: 2017-02-21

What happened: Euforia fouled Volador to set up an insta-feud. Absolutely nothing else happened.

What was good: This show so bored me that I gave up on it for about a day. The break I took was good. The matches, not so much. The best stuff was usual CMLL baseline trios matches, nothing standing out.

Where can I watch it: It’s on CMLL’s channel.

Winner: técnicos (2/3)
Match Time: 11:49

Review: [ok] decently entertaining opening match with some regular flaws. Zaeta Roja & Millenium both could stand to improve their timing; Millenium was so late with his finish in the third fall that it was kind of painful. Zaeta’s offense looked rough at time. King Jaguar looked the roughest, just failing on the powerbomb on Milenium. He’s a veteran enough to know it looked bad and he should’ve tried it again. Perverso did OK basing for Flyer.

this was a bad plan by King Jaguar

Winner: tecnicos (1/3)
Match Time: 16:27

Review: [ok] This match was putting me to sleep, so that doesn’t seem like a strong recommendation. Solidly executed at average paec, but one where it just didn’t feel like anything was going and the crowd didn’t care that much. I liked the stereo moonsault to end the first fall, I liked Lestat’s legdrop in the third fall. I didn’t really get much more out of this.

when in doubt, GIF a ramp move

Match 3: Blue Panther Jr., The Panther, Tritón vs Kráneo, Olímpico, Ripper
Arena Puebla, 02/20/2017

VideosOficialesCMLL

  1. rudos
    • Kraneo legdrop Triton (6:31)
  2. técnicos
    • Blue Panther Jr. kneebar Ripper (3:36)
  3. rudos
    • Kraneo running hipsmash The Panther (5:07)
    • Ripper senton Blue Panther JR. (5:32)

Winner: rudos (1/3)
Match Time: 15:39

Review: [below average] Ripper & Panther remembered their feud, and the match built to the finish – which was just Panther Jr. getting pinned matter of fact after his brother had already been pinned and when it didn’t really mean all that much. This match was so boring to me even with the feud. Kraneo took a couple of backdrops, that was nice. He did a wacky dance that the camera mostly missed, which was not nice.

wasn’t kidding about ramp GIFs

Match 4: Ángel de Oro, Máximo Sexy, Valiente vs Hechicero, Rey Bucanero, Terrible
Arena Puebla, 02/20/2017

  1. tecnicos
    • Máximo half crab Terrible (8:04)
  2. rudos
    • Rey Bucanero inverted STF Angel de Oro (2:02)
    • Terrible pin Valiente (2:27)
  3. rudos
    • Terrible reversed huracanrana Valiente (3:01)
    • Hechicero Mad Scientist Bomb Angel de Oro (3:01)

Winner: rudos (1/3)
Match Time: 13:32

Review: [ok] normal TGR match. A little bit more life with Hechicero, a little bit less because the técnicos were not doing a whole lot in this one. Terrible pinning Valietne off a Rey Bucanero missed dropkick was not great; Bucanero looks even more the weak link with no Shocker around. Angel de Oro and Hechicero pulled off his finish well and the reveal

Terrible KOs Angel de Oro

Match 5: Dragón Lee, Mistico, Volador Jr. vs Euforia, Niebla Roja, Yoshitatsu
Arena Puebla, 02/20/2017
Video:
VideosOficialesCMLL

  1. rudos
    • Yoshitatsu top rope wheel kick Mistico (1:40)
  2. técnicos
    • Volador backcracker Yoshitatsu (1:58)
  3. rudos
    • DQ Euforia [foul to Volador] (4:47)

Winner: rudos (1/3)
Match Time: 8:25
Notes: Rudos jump Mistico and beat up the other técnicos as they walk out. Euforia fouls Tirantes after he fouls Volador. Euforia & Volador agree to a match for next week.

Review: [ok] Volador/Euforia comes out of nowhere. They aren’t particularly feuding, it doesn’t make any sense, and it’s all great because it’s so much better than the alternative. Tatsu was in for about half the match, and easily the sixth best guy in the match. He doesn’t look good and his moves don’t look good and he’s not over, but otherwise everything is working out for him. Euforia basing for Volador should be fun.

Euforia, a real hero

  1. “I don’t know”? Are you kidding me? I watch CMLL only because YOSHITATSU is there. Stop bashing him.
