CMLL weekend results, Joe Lider haircut update

CMLL (SAT) 01/07/2017 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Akuma & Artillero b Bengala & Leono
Rudos took 1/3.
2) Astral, Eléctrico, Stukita b Mercurio, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito
Tecnicos took 2/3.
3) Amapola, La Comandante, Zeuxis b Estrellita, Princesa Sugehit, Sanely
Rudas took 1/3.
4) Bobby Z, Gran Guerrero, Niebla Roja b Drone, Stuka Jr., Titán
Rudos took 2/3, Roja defeating Titan.
5) Carístico, Dragón Lee, Mistico b Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto
Tecnicos took 2/3.

Niebla Roja beating Titan would seem like a title match in a week where they’re doing feuds (and where Titan isn’t gone for two weeks.) This Saturday shows probably are going to be dire for a couple weeks.

AAA Sanchez (SAT) 01/07/2017 Arena Neza [+LuchaTV, Estrellas del Ring, The Gladiatores]
1) Darker & Torito Negro b ? & Atomic
2) Chico Che, Mike, Teelo b Arlequín Amarillo, Arlequín Negro, Motocross
3) Goya Kong & Mamba b Big Mama & Pimpinela Escarlata
4) Carta Brava Jr. & Hijo de Pirata Morgan b Argenis & Australian Suicide
5) Hijo del Fantasma, Joe Lider, Pagano b Aerostar, Drago, Psycho Clown
Joe Lider got his head shaved during the last week (probably early on, because it was growing back well.) Aerostar was hurt and left the match earlier. Goya distracted Psycho Clown setting up a Pagano foul.

Attendance was back down to normal (not good) levels for Neza this week. It’s unclear if Lider got his hair cut because they got pressure for him not do it or he realized it would’ve been silly for him to come back to the same arena still having his hair a week later. (Still, if he was going to live up to the stip, he should’ve done it during the show, not some time later. This was not exactly right.)

Aerostar, who seems to be struggling with an injury, is looking for a name for the trio with Drago and Argenis.

CMLL (SUN) 01/08/2017 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Pequeño Nitro & Pequeño Violencia b Acero & Aéreo
2) Blue Panther Jr., Pegasso, The Panther b Nitro, Okumura, Virus
Tecnicos took 2/3.
3) Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Stuka Jr. b Felino, Pólvora, Rey Bucanero
Tecnicos took 2/3.
4) Marco Corleone, Máximo Sexy, Titán DQ La Máscara, Pierroth, Shocker
Tecnicos took 1/3. Pierroth fouled Marco.
5) Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero b Atlantis, Valiente, Volador Jr.

Hope that’s a fakeout on a Marco/Pierroth feud for Marco’s sake.

AAA posted this week’s episode. That’s week 3 of the year in review, following a week of Star Battle. They have been pushing the Guerra de Titanes lineup pretty strong on this shows, but you haven’t missed any new content.

It sounds like La Mascara is not sure if he’s working The Crash show on the 21st; CMLL hasn’t given him permission yet. It probably makes no difference to that card.

La Parka’s Record column mentions AAA plans on putting TripleMania tickets on sale soon.
