never change Averno

Recapped: 11/27/2016

What happened: OGT won the titles by DQ. Tirantes was helping them all match, but actually fairly ruled the DQ since the Apaches got involved and attacked him. (This might have been a Zorro plan, but everything Zorro says confuses me.) Psycho Clown is now losing to the likes of Murder Clown.

What was good: Nothing. This show is in a dry spell for matches and doesn’t seem to be getting better any time soon.

Where can I watch it: It’s on AAA’s channel.

AAA Classico is a look back at Pentagon almost dying. This is a weird thing to show, though they’ve shown it before.

Match 1: El Apache, Faby Apache, Mary Apache vs Mamba, Súper Fly, Taya
Gimnasio Hermanos Carreon, Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, 11/04/2016
Video: thecubsfanLucha Libre AAA

Winner: técnicos (by DQ)
Match Time: 9:12
Notes: Super Fly wears an Aerostar mask to the ring just to keep that going. Super Flu was being tied up in ahold by Apache when the OGT hit the ring and attacked him. Piero calls the DQ there, and the other rudas limp off. The OGT run away before the female Apaches can get to him, but El Apache is down in the ring with a lower leg injury.

Review: [ok] the usual showcase for the Apaches, though they didn’t come across as harsh as the rudos as usual. The rudos didn’t really get much in the match, just maybe a minute or two before it was d around for the end game, but Mamba did brutally boot scraped Apache’s face. Taya has very little to do and was just a bit player in this; she did fine, but it’s strange to see her in a minor role. (They’re not even teasing Faby might challenge her now.)

Match 2: Dark Cuervo, Dark Scoria, Zorro © vs Averno, Chessman, Ricky Marvin for the AAA World Trios Championship
Gimnasio Hermanos Carreon, Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, 11/04/2016
Video: Lucha Libre AAAthecubsfan

Winner: OGT (DQ for Apache interference)
Match Time: 9:57
Notes: Both teams have logos which are shown on the graphics before and after the match. There is no prematch belt presentation; OGT try rushing the Xinetez, only for it badly backfire. (Luckily, there’s no Fantasma.) They use kendos – Cuervo’s gotten one too – and referee Tirantes is OK with it. Tirantes does stop counting when the Xineztez are on top about 7 minute sin, but it seems more a screwup than messing up. It’s only when he keeps slow counting that it becomes clear, and he fasts counts when the OGT uses the ropes for a pin. OGT drop Zorro with a triple powerbomb on Zorro, Faby & Mary rush out to attack the OGT, and Mary fouls Tirantes too. Faby does the same to Chessman. Escoria crawls back in and on top of Chessman, Tirantes counts three, and then gives the win to OGT anyway by DQ. The Apaches are surprised this happened, because I guess they’re dumb? They’re probably not dumb, but they come off as dumb for not realizing this would happen when it happened in their match. Zorro throws the belts down at the OGT’s feet, saying they’ll come back for them later.

Review: [ok] I didn’t bother caring too much about this because it was obviously going to be a dumb finish, and it was a dumb finish, so there we go. They tried to have a real trios title match or a little bit as a fakeout out but it was hard to care that much. They did eventually get the crowd into it, but they had a harder time carrying about this rudo/rudo title match than the Pentagon/Mundo one. (Pentagon is more over the Xinetez, hot scoop!) They tried, but nah. Why did Tirantes bother counting the three in the first place?

Noti AAA

– Pentagon and Rob Van Dam had a match in the US

– Five years ago, Rob Van Dam lost to Dr. Wagner on a TripleMania.

– a recap of the OGT attack in the opener

– Backstage, in a skit that seems to have taken place between matches, Zorro seems to encourage Faby to attack the OGTs during his match. Zuniga notes this was a strange Zorro plan.

Match 3: La Parka, Psycho Clown, Texano Jr. vs Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Pagano
Gimnasio Hermanos Carreon, Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, 11/04/2016
Video: thecubsfanLucha Libre AAA

Winner: rudos (Murder Clown elbow drop Psycho Clown)
Match Time: 19:30
Notes: Murder Clown has a new mask that kind of resembles Pagnao – he’s balder, at least. The traitor clowns attack Psycho as he walks out. Texano and Parka get the same treatment. La Parka has a post comeback segment that goes four minutes but feels so much longer.

Psycho is pinned totally clean. Mundo and Taya come out help stomp them for no particular reason, and Daga & Psycho quickly run them off (though Monster is not quick leaving the ring.)

Review: [ok] a length and tedious main event in usual AAA style. Just lots of goofy comedy for what’s supposed to be a serious feud, because that’s what La Parka does and Psycho & Texano follow suit. The comedy isn’t even particularly well done and loses the crowd at points. This was just really long too for not much going on. They have Murder Clown try to fall over the top rope multiples near the end, and he’s not good at it any time. I have no idea why Psycho Clown gets pinned, other than the Psycho Clown loses every day besides TripleMania. If they thought Psycho was being held back by teaming with Monster and Murder, I’m not sure how getting beat by them is any better.

Psycho Clown stands too close to the ring for this dive a lot
