The weekend shows drew extra foreign fans with American football fans in town for the game on Monday night. There were a lot here, maybe there was a travel package with this show included or something like that.

A show. No angle except maybe the Skandalo thing, but Skandalo things go nowhere.

Elite aired it’s last TV show of the season (or maybe ever) Saturday night. It was the taping from 11/18; the 11/11 taping was skipped and apparently will never air. It’s not clear what happened for them suddenly end. If Elite had stuck to the original format, then this past Saturday probably would’ve been the final. (33 episodes of Liga Elite format and just one week for both the winners and losers to have their tournament?) I guess it’s possible Elite had agreed to this week being season final, forgot about, and then threw something together this week. It doesn’t quite make sense, since they missed  a week recently and wouldn’t have been able to fit it all in. The easier answer is Elite simply gave them one week notice they were done (for the year or entirely) and the promotion decided to run a match to set up the Escorpion/Caristico match they want to do.

Nothing about Elite entirely makes sense, but normal lucha behavior is we won’t hear anything from the promotion itself again until/unless they’re coming back, and the titles will be defended at random shows until the people who have them get bored.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s final news update. Kris had been doing these regularly for about 15 years on a variety of sites; he’s easily been the most well read person writing about lucha libre on the internet over that time. I know he’ll still be around and be creating other great internet content, but the Lucha Report will be missed.

I’m not sure if people realized it, but Kris was also responsible for a high percentage of the lucha posters that I’ve been adding to the database. He’d spend hours on Facebook looking for them, and then I’d type them up for the database. I’m still going to be adding plenty of posters to the database, but I’m sure I won’t find as many on my own as he was able to find. If there’s a show you think I should include, feel free to tag me on Twitter and I’ll try to remember to include it. (Don’t tag the @lucharobot, he doesn’t read his replies.)

AAA put up this week’s TV show. Still no sign of a Guerra de Titanes date but, if it is in January like I assume, we might not hear about it for a month.

DTU’s show today in Dolores Hidalgo was canceled due to an issue with the local promoter.

Maori Televisa has a brief interview with Johnny Idol.

CMLL Puebla: 2016-11-07

this escalates
this escalates

Recapped: 11/14/2016

What happened: Rush beat up Volador enough to get DQed. Mascara Dorada has his final match in Puebla. (I’ve already recapped the Friday show, so this is the final regular show I’ll recap with Mascara Dorada on it.)

What was good: I liked a lot of the show, including the opener, the tercera and the Dorada final.

Where can I watch it: It’s on CMLL’s channel. Read More

AAA on Televisa: 2016-11-05

Super Fly has had enough of these guys trying to dive on him
Super Fly has had enough of these guys trying to dive on him

Recapped: 11/14/2016

What happened: Wagner/Psycho set up a singles match (for next week). Fantasma kept his cruiserwieght title. Mascara de Bronce debuted, and lost. Super Fly is set on ending Aerostar. A mystery person has now trapped the Apaches twice.

What was good: Nothing really? The title match and the opener worked less than you’d expect. The main event was actually better, but the expectations were pretty lose there.

Where can I watch it: It’s no AAA’s channel in much better quality than on mine. Read More
