This is back to just being a random show.

Stuka Jr. lost to Kamaitachi in his ROH debut on Saturday after interference from Christopher Daniels (who’s allied with Kamaitachi.) Though much of the crowd didn’t seem to know Stuka, the match got good reviews and he thanked the fans after it was over. It was the third week of TV, but I’m not sure of when these would start airing.

Dragon Lee says he was offered a spot in the Cruiserweight Classic that he had to turn down due to injury, in addition to wrestling in ROH. Given Mascara Dorada got signed, that knee injury might have been the difference between Dragon Lee being in CMLL at least another year or being elsewhere. Dragon Lee is still expected to be in ROH at some point, even possibly as soon as their August PPV. (Stuka might have earned a return visit with his performance.) Dragon Lee also says he’s accomplished more in two years than La Mascara has in his entire career.

Hijo del Santo was announced for 08/12 in Rosarito. That’s part of the weekend of shows in Tijuana and Mexicali. Nieto del Santo isn’t listed as wrestling on any of them.

Silueta says she’s out with a knee injury.

Oficial AK47 says he’s retiring.

I’m on the Winter Palace podcast talking about recent lucha news.

RobViper has highlights of 07/17/04 CMLL in Monterrey.

AAA posted this week’s TV episode.

Mala Hiebra teach promo skills.

Teddy Hart says things. It sounds like he believes he’s on the Elite show next week, though it still hasn’t come out.

SuperLibre interviewed Ringo Mendoza & Satanico.

Lucha Libre in Japan

Argos will participate in Michinoku Pro’s Fukumen World League, a masked man tournament. (Mistico-Tiger noticed this first.) He’s going in as recommended from Ultimo Dragon. They’re also advertising a mystery super heavyweight from Mexico as the last participant, to be announced on August 22nd. This is the sixth time for this tournament. Dos Caras won the first, Atlantis won the third.

Lineups

CMLL (SAT) 07/23/2016 Arena Coliseo
1) Acero & Aéreo vs Pequeño Olímpico & Pequeño Universo 2000
2) Oro Jr., Soberano Jr., Starman vs Espanto Jr., Espíritu Negro, Hijo del Signo
3) Fuego, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa vs Misterioso Jr., Sagrado, Tiger
4) Blue Panther, Diamante Azul, Súper Porky vs Felino, Pierroth, Rey Escorpión
5) Máscara Dorada, Máximo Sexy, Volador Jr. vs Mephisto, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

QPED Sabados Retros. Back to five random trios matches, and Mascara Dorada hanging around. Maybe enjoy it while it lasts.

Second match is Espiritu’s first match since April, Espanto Jr.’s first match since May, and Hijo del Signo back tomorrow for the first time in June (where he didn’t wrestle a whole lot either.) Those are the guys disappearing with the newbies coming in (and these Saturday shows being off.)

CMLL (SUN) 07/24/2016 Arena México
1) Flyer & Leono vs Akuma & Inquisidor
2) Blue Panther Jr., The Panther, Tritón vs El Cuatrero, Forastero, Sansón
3) Estrellita, La Vaquerita, Marcela vs Amapola, Reyna Isis, Zeuxis
4) Bobby Z, Sam Adonis, Vangellys vs Hechicero, Pólvora, Rey Escorpión
5) Johnny Idol, Marco Corleone, Máximo Sexy vs Cavernario, Felino, Negro Casas

Peste Negra back together in the main event. I think Idol makes sense with Marco & Maximo but I guess I need to see it in action.

Semimain is a rudos/rudos semimain which makes no sense at all, as Bobby is supposed now to be a trio with Polvora. The usual care going into these things.

The Junior Dinamitas are reunited; they’ve also been limited the last couple of months.

CMLL (SUN) 07/24/2016 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Black Sugar & Capitán Cobra vs Diplomático & Guerrero de la Muerte
2) El Yaqui & Javier Cruz Jr. vs Évola & Mr. Apolo
3) Johnny Dinamo & Randy vs Carlo Roggi & Exterminador
4) Metatrón, Nautilius, Reyko vs El Chakal, Sádico, Thunder Boy
5) Joker, Ráfaga, Ripper vs El Divino, Magnum, Vaquero Jr.

Ripper working a Sunday Guadalajara show as the only CMLL DF guy is a bit odd.
