What happened: Cibernetico & Caristico won the second block of the incredible pairs tournament, and will face Mephisto and Mephisto in the final. It will be the first match between the two different Misticos. (Also, the two Hell Brothers.) Dragon Lee & La Mascara and Gran Guerrero & Atlantis turned on each other during the match.

Dragon Lee showed he still has a significant right leg injury, and was limping around in his appearances. The rudos eventually caught on and started attacking the leg to cover it up.

The first tournament match, Carístico & Cibernético versus Tiger and The Panther, was the best of the block.

What was good: The first few matches were good, and the main event may be more enjoyable if not coming after a long pointless tournament.

Where can I watch it: The main event is on Claro’s site, the matches will be on my channel Tuesday, and the show itself will air on Azteca (US) in mid May

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 16:09

Review: [good] any match with a first fall dive is probably going to make the good level. (What are they going to Stukita, not book him much?) I was a bit distracted during the match but it seemed like what I would’ve wanted it to be thru, Mercurio & Pequeño Nitro beating up the técnicos some but mostly setting up their big moves. It didn’t seem like they were doing anything new, but they did the normal fine.

Match 2: Esfinge, Pegasso, Tritón vs El Cuatrero, Skándalo, Virus

    • Virus DQ Esfinge (3:56)

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:08

Review: [ok] seemed like it was going to be a good match, then ended much earlier than anyone would’ve expected. Someone had to get the short straw on a tournament show, and so they kind of teased a Esfinge/Virus issue. Too bad Triton was much better than him (and young Cuatrero worked with him well.) The short match saved us from much Skandalo, so it’s definitely not all bad.

Match Time: 14:36

Review: [good] fun midcard match with the good guys doing well, and everyone else saying out of the way. I didn’t expect to see a match built aroudn Rey Cometa and Euforia but that’s what happened, with Euforia sending Cometa hard into the barricade early and Cometa coming back against him at the match until the Brillo Cometa at the end. They worked hard and fit more spots than you’d expect for the time. Triple dive spot was really done well, and Olímpico didn’t win, so that’s all good. First part of this match was hard to watch due to the feed just dying but it was worth sticking thru until the end.

Mephisto replaced Mr. Niebla.

Review: [ok] the usual rushed main event we’ve gotten on a lot of shows lately, with the first two falls being almost nothing but finishes and only the third getting a lot of length. Also, as seen in those recent brief main events, the last fall was a bunch of high spots to make up for not doing much else. This one didn’t work as well for because the show felt so long at this point, but the big spots were nice. Mephisto being in this match absolutely should’ve played off him and Mistico being partners next week, but it was never acknowledged in the ring. The match needed something to feel the slightest bit consequential and didn’t have anything.
