CMLL (FRI) 04/22/2016 Arena México [SuperLuchas, thecubsfan]

11:08. Straight falls for the tecnicos, Esfinge pinning Virus in the second and Virus fouling Esfinge in the second.

14:36. Tecnicos took 2/3.

11) Carístico & Cibernético b Atlantis & Gran Guerrero [natl pi, semifinal]
711
12) Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Volador Jr. b Cavernario, Felino, Mephisto
8:22. Mephisto replaced Mr. Niebla. Tecnicos took 2/3.

Mistico says next week’s match will be the time to show who’s the best Mistico. Next week’s outcome is going to be very interesting – and how the crowd reacts to each guy will be as well.

I missed writing about it on Monday, but Mephisto replaced Mr. Niebla on that show too. Niebla’s back to being MIA.

And, as mentioned on Twitter, Kamaitachi is done here (and has been for a while.) He’s based in US now, with the word going around that he won’t be going back to Japan soon, even for the Best of Super Juniors. That lineup should be announced on May 3rd at NJPW’s PPV.

Dragon Lee was obviously hobbled and probably shouldn’t have been wrestling last night. It seemed like the idea was to build up his feud with La Mascara, but whatever was done with that didn’t require two matches or really any matches since it was lost in a bunch of other matches. It was also followed by a completely pointless turn: they’re probably not doing Atlantis and Gran Guerrero in a major way, but that was treated with the same significance.

Maybe they’ll follow up on today’s Arena Coliseo show, since Atlantis and Gran Guerrero on opposite sides of the main event. (Probably not, if they didn’t think to follow thru on last night’s main event.) Angel de Oro & La Mascara on the tecnico side, which should also cause some drama. Euforia & Vangelis make up the rest of the rudo side. Best undercard match looks like Fuego versus Disturbio. Next Saturday’s CMLL show moves to Arena Mexico for Kid’s Day.

CaraLucha is back tonight (probably by the time you read this) with Ultimo Guerrero versus Satanico in the main event. Templario, who just showed up on CMLL cards, teams with Guerrero Mixitco against the Traumas. Cenvrion & Latigo team up with Dragon Celta to face the Indystrongibles.

Sunday includes the Lucha Memes show in Coacalo. The Indystrongibbles are on that one taking on the Traumas. The Kamikazes del Aire (Alas de Acero, Aramis and Iron Kid) take on Fujin, Raijin and Okumura. Keira versus Princesa Sugehit is the spotlighted match on the poster; with Keira on upcoming AAA’s posters, this might be the last we see of her against a CMLL name for a while.

This week’s AAA show is already up (and airing as I write this.) This week’s matches are the women’s trios, the Perros vs Jack/Suicide/Argenis and Dr. Wagner Jr. versus Psycho Clown.

AAA sent out a press release about the Lucha World Cup qualifiers in Xalapa without revealing anything more about the Lucha World Cup. There’s no details about it on TV either.

Pentagon Jr. is advertised for 07/30 in South Bend, Indiana.

R de Rudo has details on DF indie luchador Alastor, who passed away earlier this week. There was some unclear incident between two different groups of people, Alastor stood in front of one car to stop the other group of people from leaving, and the driver decided to go anyway, hitting Alastor with his car. The driver was arrested and may be charged with murder.

LuchaWorld has the latest news update.

Artes de Mexico has a lucha libre theme this issue.

Black Fire did not win the GFW Nex*Gen championship from Sonjay Dutt in Germany.

Lineup

Tuesday’s lineup has a poster and a slightly different lineup. They’ve added a six match (Sensei & Leono vs Akuma & Espiritu Negro), and changed the now tercera tecnico side to Magnus, Stigma and Oro (versus Arkangel, Nitro, and Sangre Azteca, so it’s another match where the tecnicos won’t do much.)

ELITE (WED) 04/27/2016 Arena México
1) Astral & Último Dragóncito vs Pequeño Olímpico & Pierrothito
2) Hijo De Dos Caras, Hombre Bala Jr., Tritón vs Eterno, Fresero Jr., Imposible
3) Black Warrior & Blue Panther vs Hechicero & Solar I
4) Volador Jr. vs Máscara Dorada [Liga Elite]
5) El Hijo De La Park, LA Park, Súper Parka vs La Máscara, Pierroth, Rush
6) Bobby Lashley vs Último Guerrero [Liga Elite]

Lashley going for a moonsault to set up the Guerrero Special is going to be odd. Dorada is on match 3, may be done with this tournament by June. (Let’s pretend there’s a long term plan here and they’re packing in his matches now because he’s going to be back in NJPW this summer.)

Elsewhere, it helps to be part of a lucha family. Super Parka & Hijo de LA Park & Pierroth do not belong in any reasonable semimain, but are there because of their family. Black Warrior is peciular fit in the third match, but he’s Blue Panther’s nephew. Hijo de Dos Caras has been heavily pushed as an indy guy for years without having a good match, but he’s a Dos Caras so he makes his debut in the segunda.

CMLL (FRI) 04/29/2016 Arena México
Arena Mexico 60th Anniversary
1) Flyer & Star Jr. vs Cancerbero & Raziel
2) Marcela, Princesa Sugehit, Skadi vs Amapola, Dalys, Zeuxis
3) Blue Panther, Stuka Jr., Súper Porky vs Bobby Z, Hechicero, Kráneo
4) Rey Cometa vs Cavernario [lightning]
5) Ángel de Oro, Dragón Lee, Máscara Dorada vs Ephesto, Felino, Rey Escorpión
6) Mephisto & Mistico vs Carístico & Cibernético [natl pi, final]

This tournament either has an Atlantis win or a main event for the real Anniversary show. Atlantis isn’t in the final.

The rest of the card isn’t much support. No sign of Marco & Rush. Hope they let the opening guys do dives. Cometa & Cavernario are probably having their title match one or two days later, which won’t be tape, so at least we’ll get a lightning match.
