Dragon Lee defeats Cavernario, Cibernetico/Ultimo Guerrero tonight

tonight’s card

CMLL (TUE) 03/22/2016 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Martes de Glamour]
1) Gallo & Magnum b Maléfico & Ráfaga
Tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Soberano Jr., Starman, Vaquero Jr. DQ Arkángel de la Muerte, Espectrúm, Hijo del Signo
Tecnicos took 2/3. Espectrum fouled Vaquero. Vaquero demanded a hair match and Espectrum finally accepted.
3) Blue Panther Jr., Esfinge, The Panther b Okumura, Puma, Tiger
Tecnicos took 2/3.
4) Dragón Lee © b Cavernario [CMLL SL]
Dragon Lee took 2/3 to keep the title. First defense. Money thrown in.
5) La Máscara, Súper Porky, Volador Jr. b Ephesto, Kráneo, Mephisto
Tecnicos took 2/3 (in all five matches!) La Mascara replaced Maximo (double booked)

Pictures show Cavernario doing the splash to the floor. The title match looks good in those pictures.

Tonight’s Arena Mexico main event is technically Atlantis, Mascara Dorada and Volador Jr. versus Peste Negra to follow up on Casas/Volador but – as seems to happen quite often – the more interesting match is lower on the card. Ultimo Guerrero and Cibernetico have their first ever singles match. They started their feud only seven days ago, and already are directly confronting each other. Ultimo Guerrero feuded with Thunder for two or three millennia, and had zero singles matches. Maybe that’s just a statement about how CMLL felt about Thunder, or maybe it’s something for Elite’s benefit to spill over onto their Wednesday’s shows. Whatever it is, the match seems much more urgent for CMLL to get it done right away. Maybe there’s another shoe to drop here.

Pierroth, the maybe new Ingobernable, teams with Rush & La Mascara against Super Porky, Caristico and Marco in the tercera. Hechicero is scheduled to return in the tercera – that match or the main event should be the best on the show. The show opens with a minis match and follows with a women’s match.

The show is at 8:30pm local, still one hour later than usual in the US. (You’ve only got eight more days of this.) It’s back on ClaroSports.

LuchaWorld recaps this week’s CMLL Informa, which got weird.

Segunda Caida watches La Sombra versus Mephisto.

Matt Farmer has a giant list of 1982 El Toreo results.

Dragon Lee vs Kamaitachi airs on Lucha Azteca this week. It’s not on the list, because I can’t get it and no one’s ever asked about it, but the Guadalajara show has Dragon Lee vs Cavernario this week. Assuming it happened – CMLL hasn’t gotten results up yet.

Cibernetico vs Ultimo Guerrero takes place on Claro this week.

The show description for Lucha Underground partially gives away one match.
