Gym FILL (Black Terry) vs Gym Arkano (Dr. Cerebro). Dragon Fly replaced Arana de Plata. Final four were Freyser, Imposible, Motocross, Danger. Fresyer lost to a double team move, but Imposible came back 1 on 2 to win it for team IWRG.

The Copa Higher Power sounds good.

Reaction to the first Lucha Underground episode was strongly positive by most people. They were the #1 trend, fantastic news if their chances of renewal were depending on Twitter trends. (Probably not.) The gap between the seasons didn’t seem to hurt the momentum of the show. It was probably a combination of the good reviews of the first season inspiring people to check out the show, the massive amount of outside people writing about the show (spurred by the greater mainstream coverage of wrestling) and the event like atmosphere of the debut that made it come of so big. We might not know that means for the traditional ratings numbers for a while – there’s a site posting those numbers on a bit of a delay – but this seems like it went as well as it possibly could’ve gone.

Rey Misterio talked about how far his left knee will bend (and his inability to do springboards any more) with Playboy. Chris DeJoseph’s AMA is also up; among the many reasons I hope LU gets DVD/streaming/merchandise/whatever is so every interview won’t have to ask about it. DeJoseph back up his earlier statement about WWE going after Lucha Underground wrestlers by saying those wrestlers have told him, and also his friends inside of WWE have told him that’s exactly what they’re doing.

The WON had a little bit of news about Lucha Underground. It’s a spoiler for this weekend’s tapings, so you may want to skip a paragraph. Dr. Wagner Jr. has been contacted about coming in for Ultima Lucha 2. (Meltzer said maybe in the newsletter, seemed more definite about in the audio.) His role is unclear; there’s no big mystery person/partner angle obvious from the taping, so it’ll be something that comes together this weekend. It’s unclear if it’s a one weekend or more – I mean, until Season 3 is announced, it’s kind of can only be a one week thing – but Wagner signing with Lucha Underground would mean he’s less likely to disappear from AAA at a moment’s notice.

There’s also a mention of issues between Lucha Underground and Rey Misterio; the MMA promotion that wanted to use Rey also ran on Wednesday and LU (who has rights over him on US TV) said no. There’s also a mention of financial issues between Rey and Lucha Underground.

The WON also mentions Elite continues to try to recruit AAA luchadors to jump, though it doesn’t seem to be working for the big names (and the Lucha Underground guys probably can’t jump.)

The FantasticaMania Day 2 show (Kyoto) has been posted on rutube.ru

1) Fuego & Ryusuke Taguchi vs Sho Tanaka & Yohei Komatsu
2) The Panther vs Okumura
3) Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Boby Zavala
4) David Finlay, Dragon Lee, Jyushin Thunder Liger, Titán vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Hechicero, Virus, YOSHI-HASHI
5) Bushi, EVIL, Tetsuya Naito vs Atlantis, Máscara Dorada, Stuka Jr.
6) Kushida & Mistico vs Gedo & Último Guerrero
7) Kazuchika Okada, Mephisto, Shinsuke Nakamura vs Hiroshi Tanahashi, Juice Robinson, Volador Jr.

It’s only the Osaka show that isn’t available from the six day tour.

Mesias says he’s going to win the Mega championship, no matter what the Sociedad (Konnan and Fantsma) want. The interview comes off as still being a rudo.

Would you like to read about how, on the third anniversary of his debut, Thunder is feuding with Rush, Ultimo Guerrero and Euforia at the same time? No, I didn’t think so. It’s been three years of this guy, incredible.

Rey Bucanero did an interview backstage saying he wanted Maximo’s heavyweight title. He’s not set up for one right now.

SuperLuchas has photos from the FantasticaMania tour, including Nakamura’s art.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.
