lucha TV preview for weekend of January 8th

CMLL’s Friday night show is back on this week.

52MX should have Dragon Rojo versus Titan, which would be the best match of the week.

AAA is as a) if they’ll have a new episode this week, which still doesn’t quite make sense to me and b) guessing which have of the taping airs.

CMLL Titanes en el Ring is on at the convenient time of 2:30 AM and 5AM this week. No true idea what’s going to air; both it and LATV are a bit off the rails.

This Wednesday’s Lucha Underground repeats:

  • Fight To The Death (Mil Muertes returns to face Fenix)
  • Submit To The Master (Pentagon Jr. vs Sexy Star, submission match)
  • The Desolation Of Drago (four way for title shot)
  • All Night Long (Puma vs Mundo)
  • Death vs. The Dragon (Mil Muertes vs Drago for title shot)

Guadalajara results, Ultimo Guerrero/Thunder

CMLL (TUE) 01/05/2016 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [CMLL]
1) El Chakal & Thunder Boy b El Divino & Metatrón
2) Disturbio, Maléfico, Metálico b Omar Brunetti, Sensei, Starman
Rudos took 2/3
3) Okumura, Sangre Azteca, Virus b Esfinge, Pegasso, Stigma
Rudos took 2/3.
4) Ángel de Oro, Rey Cometa, Titán b Dragón Rojo Jr., Hechicero, Pólvora
Tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Vangellys b Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr.
Rudos took 1/3, Bucanero defeating Mistico with a Buca Storm in the third. This sets up a trios title match next week.

The important news bite from this week’s Informa was Ultimo Guerrero confirming the hair/math match with Thunder is still scheduled to occur. (All quotes from Alfredo.) It came off as if both UG and JCR knew the date of the match, but were not allowed to say it – maybe there’s an angle planned for Friday to announce it again. Guerrero faces Thunder and the returning Rey Escorpion in trios on that show. Ultimo also explained that if wrestling was to the death, he would definitely win. That’s good to know.

Also on the show, Volador said Super Parka isn’t booked to return to CMLL after his hair loss, though he hopes his dad gets brought back. That match seemed like the logical end to his run.

A Cibernetico main evented show in Queretaro drew 2,500, which seems like a good number for that city. Another report says it was “more than 2000”. Tabu worked the show; he’d been listed on an Elite show previously and then taken back off. Cibernetico beat Rey Cometa in the main event.

Lucha Memes added the Kriminal Boys (Toxin & Fly Star) vs La Fortaleza (Corsario Negro Jr. & Drako) to their 01/24 show. They’ve also announced there will be another Chairo at Arena Naucalpan show on a Sunday in March.

CMLL uploaded the two most recent Tuesday lightning matches: Starman vs Arkangel and Sagrado vs Guerrero Maya Jr.

LuchaWorld has thoughts on the FantasticaMania lineups, KrisZ’s news update and a new edition of the podcast.

Canek says he feels in perfect condition. Perfect condition for what? You can watch Canek’s entire press conference if you like to do weird things with your time.

Caristico & Mistico are announced for Monterrey on 02/21, which means they won’t be part of the Elite show on that Sunday.

Tigre de Bengala gave out gifts to children.

CMLL (SAT) 01/09/2016 Arena Coliseo
1) Sensei vs Apocalipsis
2) Star Jr. vs Metálico
3) La Comandante vs Skadi
4) Starman vs Sansón
5) Fuego & The Panther vs Luciferno & Sagrado
6) Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Super Porky vs Boby Z, Cavernario, Felino
7) Valiente vs Comandante Pierroth

Lineup isn’t on the website, but they showed it on Informa. Good luck to Valiente.
