Review: [good] entertaining match from the ChilangaMask show. Ultimo Ninja looked better than here than he did in Coacalco – both wrestling, and his yellow and black outfit is better than the Mascara Purpura-ish gear he was wearing on the other show – and he fits in well with the other two despite spending much of the early portion of the match standing on the apron watching them mat wrestling. Aeroboy has a good match too, matching Caifan on the match and looking more comfortable with big spots (less banged up) than later in the year. it’s weirdly Caifan who’s gives the shakiest performance. The match turns into him both the other guys for a while and he does better there than in his big spots late. He might have gotten shaken up midway in. There’s an attempted sunset flip powerbomb to the floor spot where they just kind of slip off the apron instead of doing the powerbomb (in more of a blown spot than a bad fall moment) and he’s iffy from their own. Still, this has some good action and is probably one of the better matches on this show all year.

Review: [good] a solid match between the two families, but not exactly the dream match style match you might be looking for. They really didn’t get a lot of time and this mostly felt like the possible first match of a series, just exposing unfamiliar fans to their big moves. The fans who were there (not many) were actually already familiar, loudly behind the Traumas, excited to Navarro/Panther when it finally happened, and disappointed when the IWRG team left. (The CMLL team were the home team in name only.) This was a Panther style surprise finish booking match, with the first two falls ending abruptly. Maybe that had to happen given the time. The Traumas did well in their appearance here, looking good on the mat (as best we could see from the upper deck) and the Panther was much better than his brother. Hopefully there are other matches where they get actual time.

Review: [ok] more an interesting historical footnote than a quality match. Sombra, less than week away from finishing up with the company, is the hardest working guy in this match. Ultimo Guerrero and Atlantis are working at the speed of a tent show somewhere in Estado de Mexico. Caristico is trying, and his sequences with Sombra are the best parts of the match, but can’t do enough to make this feel as special as it ought to be. The old guys are really not helping, with Ultimo Guerrero stopping to milk the crowd at a Wagner like rate, and he and Atlantis not bothering to wrestle while waiting for Sombra to get back from catching a dive to finish up the second fall. The finish, of Sombra and Ultimo winning completely clean on Caristico’s first show (and Sombra’s only show with Elite) is absolutely mind-boggling – I can only assume it was some sort of political deal for Caristico to prove he was a team player, because it otherwise makes even less sense seeing it. On the other hand, it might have been the right call in the moment, because the crowd that turned out was booing Caristico and rooting for the other side to win.

Review: [great] a high action trios match in traditional CMLL style. They didn’t play up the tecnico/rudo sides that much – I think Angel de Oro’s team were supposed to be the rudos, though it wasn’t always sure during the match – but they built up comebacks and pin break ups. It’s Rey Cometa’s best performance since he’s been back. He still isn’t breaking out the big dive, but did get in a tornillo into the ring near the end and all of his other moves look sharp. Pegasso had a pretty good night too, moving around the ring well. Titan and Agos worked against each other a lot, and this was the second staright match where a Karonte family member was roundly booed on the promotion that appears to be built around Karonte family members. Argos was also the guy who had the most mistakes during the match (annoying Pegasso at one point), though Emperador Azteca was the one who seemed to make the least impression. This match got a lot more time than the previous week’s Elite matches and they filled it up with a lot of big spots.

Review: [good] total comedy match, so much so that it’s hard to understand how this would turn into a hair match challenge despite the post match challenges. It’s never that serious, on purpose. It’s a fun comedy match, one the crowd enjoys and one that includes Volador throwing a million superkicks. Damian and Halloween have always done comedy well and play off Maximo great, but I feel less like the match they’re teasing is actually happening having seen the build up.

Notes: Black Warrior is a surprise luchador, in a spot that was teased ot be Cibernetico, Chessman, and Averno at various times. Cibernetico shows up after the match.
Review: [ok] an even shorter main event, with Caristico being the only guy on his team to take a pin, so weird. This was a very basic CMLL trios style match, built towards Warrior & Caristico and with Caristico taking him out at the end. It was fine while it lasted, but it didn’t last long, and people would’ve been very disappointed in the whole thing had they not also had the Cibernetico run-in. Black Warrior looks no better here than he did in AAA. Most entertaining part of the match might have been Negro Casas & Valiente bolting for the back when Cibernetico came out, unconcerned about Caristico at all. The post match drags on longer than the match.
