CMLL (SAT) 12/26/2015 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Fantasy b Pequeño Olímpico
2) Metálico b Flyer
3) Hijo del Signo b Star Jr.
4) Nitro b Oro Jr.
Oro Jr. replaced Super Halcon Jr. Nitro still using the piledriver.
5) Arkángel de la Muerte b Hombre Bala Jr.
6) Stigma & Stuka Jr. b Sagrado Boby Z & Starman
Starman replaced Sagrado. Boby Z didn’t like this and didn’t get along with Starman, attacking him after the match. Stigma & Stuka made the save.
7) Blue Panther, Máximo Sexy, Valiente DQ Hechicero, Kráneo, Pierroth
Kraneo fouled Maximo

CMLL ELITE (SUN) 12/27/2015 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Amapola & Zeuxis b Estrellita & La Vaquerita
2) Emperador Azteca & Oro Jr. b Karonte Jr. & Skándalo
straight falls. Skandalo Karonte was stretchered out after taking an Emperador Azteca package piledriver.
3) Trauma I & Trauma II b Guerrero Maya Jr. & Rey Cometa
said to be good.
4) Super Crazy b Felino
Crazy snuck in a foul, and asked for a hair match.
5) Black Warrior, La Máscara, Rush DCOR Cibernético, Mephisto, Sharlie Rockstar
both teams brawled outside for the double countout. Rush & Cibernetico feuded.
6) El Cavernario & Negro Casas b Carístico & Mistico
The Caristico/Mistico tag team loses in their first match when Casas pulls Caristico’s mask and beats him. Caristico wanted a singles match with Negro Casas.

Elite shows have tons of challenges for matches, but doesn’t seem to ever run those matches (and forgets the ones it does run, since Black Warrior with a friend of the Ingobernables and enemy of Cibernetico this week.) Caristico is 5-3 on these shows, which is not as good as I’d think.

Skandalo being stretchered out last night probably doesn’t affect his status for Monday’s cage match. That’s just the way they’re selling that move (to no particular end.) It was Karonte who was strechered out.

#ThunderWatch update: I have no idea. CMLL’s Alexis Salazar said Thunder was not out of CMLL, which is counter to what Mas Lucha appeared to be told on Friday.

In the meantime, an aggravated message was posted on Thunder’s Facebook. (It’s obviously not written by Thunder, since he admits to have limited ability in Spanish.) MedioTiempo has reposted the note. Thunder says he was ready to have the mask versus hair mask with Ultimo Guerrero and did not ask for more time to prepare. (“I’m a professional, I’m always professional.”) Thunder said the programming department did not give him the contract for the match, did not invite him to the contract signing press conference and did not want to ever do this match. He says there are other instances of the programming department doing him wrong. Thunder apologizes to the fans and to Ultimo Guerrero for the match not happening and hopes it’ll be rescheduled.

That explanation is weird mix of storyline and reality. The question around Thunder signing or not signing the contract is a weird storyline out. (And, for what it’s worth, Thunder sure appeared to sign the contract for the mask match, so it’s a storyline they can’t even keep straight.) There’s does seems to be some truth to the idea that people in CMLL did not want to do this match: the Maximo/Kamaitachi and Super Parka/Negro Casas feuds started a few days before the Thunder/UG match was even announced, and it’s unlikely they would’ve bothered with those feuds if CMLL thought Thunder/UG was actually going to happen. It is possible the CMLL programming department screwed him over in some way, because they seem to do that with everyone. And, at the same time, it’s really hard to take the side of someone who’s been so overpushed and awful for his entire run. Criticizing the CMLL programming department is usually enough to get you run out of town, but I suppose it may not matter if half or more of this is storyline. Watch and see if the lineup changes tomorrow afternoon, I guess.

Anyone who bought Friday’s iPPV was sent a coupon code for $5 off this upcoming Friday’s show. (It’s a code, so it probably will work for anyone, not just those who bought the last iPPV.) This appears to be the full extent of CMLL’s refund; you’re not getting money back, you’re getting half off the next show so you’re only gambling five dollars on the show working or not. It’s a poor way to build business.

By the way, that coupon code is Cabelleras-50% It’s actually a little bit more than $5, since the fees you pay are connected to how much the event costs.

Mr. Apolo & El Alteno with to a double pin draw tonight in Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, so both got their head shaved.

Bart Simpson unmasked Tortuga Mutante III on the Arena Aficion Christmas Day show. Tortuga Mutante III was unmasked as Miguel Gonzalez, from Zumpango, 9 years.

Pagano, Violento Jack & Aeroboy defeated the Traumas and LA Park in Arena Lopez Mateos, with Pagano demanding a singles match with Park. Sadico defeated Flamita in the semimain trios; Sadico has Flamita’s number (in that building.)

The first Hijo de Rey Misterio made a surprise appearance in Tijuana on Christmas Day, running into save the current Hijo de Rey Misterio and Rey Misterio II. I think I have that right, it’s all confusing (and Rey Misterio Sr. even shows up at the end of the video in that link to make a joke about it.) Tornado Negro II, who’s retiring soon, defeated Crazy Man in the finals of ruleta de la muerte. Crazy Man is Marco Antonio Valladares Sandoval.

Lucha Memes/Chairo says their next show is 01/24 back in Coacalco.

Cibernetico says a golden age is coming to Arena Mexico soon. Sounds cool.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

RobViper has a music video of the 06/30 CMLL.

Segunda Caida reviews a SoCal Rey Horuz vs Steve Pain match and random Zumbido matches.

The plans to start up a Box Y Lucha commission in Boca del Rio, Veracruz is being delayed, and will not get going for a few months. They’re only talking about boxing items, I think they’re just calling it Box Y Lucha out of habit.

Lineups

Cara Lucha (FRI) 01/01/2016 Arena San Juan Pantitlan, Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, Estado de México
1) ? vs ??
2) Lady Apache vs ?
3) Arez vs Dragón Celta
4) Toro Negro Jr. vs Látigo
Toro Negro Jr. is Latigo’s old trainer.
5) Cavernario & Hechicero vs Trauma I & Trauma II
6) Pagano vs Sharly Rockstar

Later recaps cleared up the challenge from the last show better; Centvrion challenged Toro Negro, but Toro wanted to face his old student instead. Fifth match could be great. I’d guess the second match is a CMLL luchadora, but it’s not specifically said to be such.

IWRG (SUN) 01/03/2016 Arena Naucalpan
1) Aramis & Black Dragón vs Adrenalina & Atomic Star
2) Leo, Mike, Rafy vs Hip Hop Man, Imposible, Tony Rivera
3) Hijo del Pantera, Pantera I, Pantera II vs Apolo Estrada Jr., Canis Lupus, Eterno
4) Crazy Boy, Herodes Jr., Súper Nova vs ?, Trauma I, Trauma II
5) Danny Casas vs Toscano [hair]

Main event could go either way. Crazy Boy working random IWRG shows is odd, but not as odd as all three Panteras actually teaming up.

  1. It should be, it’s the right time of year, but it’s not listed as their Anniversary show on the poster.
