I’d catch up quicker if I kept posting recaps (and/or just skipped the other matches.) I feel like I have a pretty good shot of being caught up with watching AAA by the end of this week, though it may take a bit longer to post everything.
This was a pretty good week: 11/30 Puebla was pointless, but 12/04 ClaroSports had the latest Dragon Lee/Kamaitachi match. The longer Kamaitachi is in Mexico, the less likely it seems we’ll get another one of those in Japan – the NJPW guys usually disappear for a little while – so that might be the last one of those for quite a while.
There’s not a detailed recap of last night’s Arena Naucalpan show, but Eterno & Apolo Estrada Jr. did win the double hair match over Black Terry & Dr. Cerbero. In an early match, Avisman was knocked out after a Fresero Jr. German suplex. He’s better later in the locker room at the end of the video, but it’s a scary looking situation.
Mascara Dorada says he wants a rematch with Bushi at FantasticaMania, which we all assumed but is still nice to know. If the translation of the post match interview from the title change, Bushi did acknowledge he’d have to defend the CMLL Welterweight championship on those shows, but demanded to only defend it in Arena Mexico after that.
CMLL tonight in Puebla has Ultimo Guerrero defending the NWA Middleweight championship against Atlantis. It has not been officially announced, but I have the sneaking the suspicion the first two falls will be rather short, and the third fall rather long. It’s possible they may break ten minutes combined but I wouldn’t wager on it. Atlantis won last week and already has a title, so Ultimo Guerrero’s keeping his title unless he’s going to NXT or something.
The rest of the card is better. The two ongoing midcard feuds have been dumped together in one cibernetico. Friday’s cibernetico was the best part of the night. This isn’t as strong a field, but maybe the numbers will help reduce the drag of the worst members of this match. It’s still not clear where any of this going, but every other building is getting a cage match this month so perhaps there’s one coming to Puebla as well. The opener is just Puebla locals (no poor DF luchadors to drag it down), and there’s a mini match that looks pretty good. There’s also the 500th trios where Mascara and Maximo won’t get along. The show will air on YouTube at 9pm, and there’s usually a link on CMLL’s website early in the afternoon. I think I may have other things to do, so you may be on your own for this one.
