CMLL (SAT) 12/19/2015 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Bengala b El Rebelde
2) Eléctrico b Mercurio
3) Hijo del Signo b Magnus
Signo used a powerbomb and the ropes to win. Magnus needed a stretcher.
4) Nitro b Soberano Jr.
Nitro continues to use his piledriver, which the CMLL recap notes should be illegal. Soberano also took a stretcher ride.
5) Hechicero b Delta
Hechicero won via conjuro.
6) Guerrero Maya Jr. & The Panther b Misterioso Jr. & Sagrado © [Arena Coliseo TAG]
Misterioso & Maya had a five minute chop fight. Tecnicos took first, rudos second, and tecnicos took the last to win the titles. Misterioso & Sagrado go down with zero defenses.
7) Ángel de Oro, Valiente, Volador Jr. b Gran Guerrero, Rey Bucanero, Terrible

New champs! Guerrero Maya Jr. and T. Panther are both luchadors I really enjoy and I’m happy to see them win. It’s weird that CMLL title changes seem to be primarily built around who’s going to Japan and who needs to be in the dumb Universal tournament, but this definitely seems at least partially motivated by the first situation.

Delta being on the same show had to be bittersweet. It’s the Arena Coliseo tag team titles, belts CMLL forgets they have for decades at a time, but Delta & Maya were the previous champions and CMLL essentially decided the team was better off without Delta. And without Blue Panther Junior, but we could’ve figured that. CMLL seems to rarely move guys down, they’re mostly stuck in the same position for an extended period of time, but Delta’s seems like he’s been given up on a bit.

DTU (SAT) 12/19/2015 Arena Lopez Mateos [+LuchaTV, Black Terry Jr., Estrellas del Ring, Kronosport, MedioTiempo, R de Rudo]
1) Ángel del Misterio b Destello, Vengador, Aeropower, Aero Power, Perro Negro Jr., Joven Maravilla, Adrenalina Fly, El Nene, El Chato, Niño De Cobra, Kid Lobo, Flyer Boy
2) Lanzeloth & Rocky Lobo b Chica Ye-Ye & Exotico and Atila (Veracruz) & Tiburón (Veracruz) and Corsario Negro Jr. & Drako [DTU NEXO]
vacant titles; all four teams had either won a qualifier or went to a double pin in their qualifier. The Dinastia Crazy team of Lobo & Lanzeloth are the 2nd champions.
3) Tony L Kevin, Jimmy [hair]
Jimmy took Tony’s hair with help from Kevin. It appears Kevin & Jimmy will remain as a tecnico Nerds, but Tony is going his own way as a rudo.
4) Black Fire b Drastik Boy, Lokillo, Jinzo
Black Fire earned a trip to WXW Germany (and likely a shot at the DTU Alto Impacto championship) by defeating Lokillo
5) Ángel o Demonio & Ovett b Black Terry & Blue Panther and Paranoiko & Shyru Dragon
money thrown in
6) Psicosis II, Titán (CMLL), Valiente DCOR Crazy Boy, Pesadilla, Super Mega
CMLL vs DTU match under DTU rules, with the CMLL luchadors using weapons. Money thrown in. DTU side gave the CMLL credit after the match, but wanted an apuesta match. After the CMLL wrestlers left, Sharlie Rockster arrived to challenge the DTU side, specifically Super Mega for the DTU Consagrado championship. Match will take place on February 20th.
7) Miedo Extremo L Cíclope, Violento Jack, Aero Boy [hair, mask]
Violento Jack defeated Ciclope, Aeroboy defeated Miedo Extremo, and Ciclope defeated his ally Miedo Extremo for his mask in a bloody match. Miedo Extremo was unmasked as Jonathan Uriel Gijon Perez, 20 years old, 5 years a wrestler, from Pachuca.

Strong turnout; Arena Lopez Mateos looks close to full.

It amazes me how young Miedo is. If he’s a five year vet, his first matches were on DTU shows and was wrestling in hardcore matches at 17 and 18. Miedo beat Ciclope in the death match tournament earlier this year, so this outcome seemed like the expected reversal.

Sharlie was a busy man, also showing up on a Leyendas Inmortal show to attack Heavy Metal and finding some time to challenge Pagano too. Thinking he’s working at a cheaper price than Cibernetico and Caristico, so he’s going to be used everywhere.

CMLL ELITE (SUN) 12/20/2015 Arena México [CMLL, Kronosport, Plantilla Deportiva, Terra]
1) Astral & Fantasy b Karonte Jr. & Mercurio
Karonte Jr. appears to be last week’s Mini Karonte.
2) Artillero & Súper Comando b Dinamic Black & Metaleón
3) Kamaitachi & Okumura b Golden Magic & Rayman
4) Dragón Rojo Jr. & Felino b Mr. Águila & Super Crazy
Dragon Rojo replaced Puma. Super Crazy and Felino made challenges after Felino used a foul to win.
5) Carístico, Mistico, Negro Casas b Cibernético, Mephisto, Sharlie Rockstar
Tecnicos took 2/3. Negro Casas and Caristico had tense moments, and a standoff post match. CMLL’s recap wonder if Mistico & Caristico will go for the tag titles (held by Casas & Shocker.)
6) Atlantis, Octagón, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. b Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000, Universo 2000
Rayo de Jalisco 40th Anniversary. Elite gave Rayo a plaque before the match. Tecnicos took 2/3.

They had a giant turnout for this show, one of their best of the years. It’s worth noting tickets were very marked down, to 40 pesos, but they’ve also been doing ticket deals for other Elite shows and they haven’t drawn nearly as well as this one. The main event guys are the real difference, though it seems like a one time thing that wouldn’t work if they were back as regulars. Still, should they ever actually get an Azteca TV deal, this makes sense as the first show to use.

King Cuerno, Mil Muertes and Dario Cueto were at the Univison Deportes awards tonight. That’s all I need to know to be sure they’re back on UniMas (or some Univision channel) – they’re being brought to those sort of things because they’re still part of the family. I can’t give an explanation of why they’re not doing the Spanish language ring announcements, but they’ve surely figured something out.

Pete Best met Atlantis. Many people consider Atlantis the sixth Beetle.
