Caristico returns to Friday nights, Cibernetico joins him next week, AAA’s next TV taping

Caristico

CMLL (TUE) 12/15/2015 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Magia Blanca & Omar Brunetti b Relampago & Rey Trueno
Tecnicos took 2/3. Magia Blanca made his debut here as a replacement for Leon Blanco.
2) Magnus, Sensei, Soberano Jr. b Camorra, Inquisidor, Maléfico
3) Lluvia, Princesa Sugehit, Silueta b Amapola, La Seductora, Zeuxis
Marcela continues to miss shows, replaced by Lluvia this time. Tecnicas took 2/3. Lluvia beat Zeuxis.
4) La Máscara, Máximo Sexy, Valiente b Boby Z, Felino, Hechicero
Mascara didn’t get along with his partners but got the win over Felino
5) Marco Corleone, Super Porky, Volador Jr. DQ Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero
Ultimo fouled Marco. Marco demanded a singles match next week.

Marco/UG was already announced for next week, but worth noting Lluvia and Zeuxis also match up in a trios match. Maybe they’re getting a title match in the next few weeks.

CMLL (FRI) 12/18/2015 Arena México [CMLL, Notimex, thecubsfan]
1) Oro Jr. & Star Jr. b Espiritu Negro & Metálico
18:46, tecnicos took 1/3. Espiritu Negro’s first match since August.
2) Puma b Tritón, Fuego, Súper Comando, The Panther, Tiger, Sangre Azteca, Esfinge, Blue Panther Jr., Raziel,Cancerbero, Pegasso [cibernetico]
Eliminations: Pegasso (Sangre Azteca), Cancerbero (Blue Jr.), Raziel (The Panther), Blue Panther Jr. (Tiger), Esfinge (Super Comando), Sangre Azteca (Triton), Tiger (Fuego), The Panther (Puma, stealing win from Comando), Super Comando (Triton after Puma had attacked him), Fuego (Puma), Triton (Puma), leaving Puma as the winner. Puma and Comando fought each other and the Panther during the match, teasing those three as the possible mask losers next week.
3) Ángel de Oro, La Máscara, Valiente b Pólvora, Terrible, Virus
15:03. Terrible replaced Kamaitachi and Valiente replaced Maximo on Monday. Tecnicos took 2/3, despite not getting along with La Mascara
4) Kamaitachi, Shocker, Último Guerrero DQ Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Máximo Sexy
8:40. Kamaitachi swapped spots with Terrible, while the opposition was changed from Kraneo, Ripper and Thunder to Marco, Atlantis and Maximo on Monday. Rudos took 1/3, Kamaitachi faking a foul from Maximo to draw the DQ. Challenges followed.
5) Carístico, Super Parka, Volador Jr. b Ephesto, Mephisto, Negro Casas
10:57. Super Parka replaced Atlantis. Casas submitted Parka to a choke in the first fall, but would not let go and was DQed. Casas snuck in a foul on Volador in the second fall, but Parka cradled Casas when the referee finally turned around. Parka challenged Casas to a one fall apuesta match again and was beat up by Casas again. This was Caristico’s return to CMLL’s main shows.

The show was better than the last two, though the crowd was library quiet for most of the show. Caristico’s return didn’t feel any special after a minute, and the hair feuds are running in place. Best match of the show was the cibernetico.

Mascara Dorada lost the CMLL Welterweight Championship to BUSHI last night in Korakuen Hall. I stayed up to watch it live and forgot to write about it, maybe because the result was such an eye roll. Dorada probably will get a rematch at FantasticaMania, but who knows with Dorada/NJPW.

AAA’s show today is a tribute to Hijo del Perro Aguayo Jr.  There are some different matches shown than the show earlier this year, though it ends again with Perro and Myteziz.

The TV show also announced AAA’s show at Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera will be on 01/22. It doesn’t have a special name, but will probably be a big show. It appears to be the first taping of the year, which would mean AAA would either air the show the next day on TV (unlikely) or they’ll be airing four weeks of best of material with no ‘new’ shows until January 16th. The Juan de la Barrera show will air January 30th and February 6th most likely

Also, Tampico promoters are advertising a March 11th show there as Rey de Reyes. That would be a make up show for Guerra de Titanes (and indicates that whatever the reason for Guerra de Titanes being canceled was, it wasn’t something that would stop AAA from going right back there for the next show.)

DTU’s 8th Anniversary show tonight in Arena Lopes Mateos. They’ve got a preview here. The main event is a four way apuesta match with Ciclope (hair), Miedo Extremo (mask), Violento Jack (mask) and Aeroboy (mask). There’s also a CMLL (Ripper, Valiente, Titan) vs DTU (Crazy Boy, Super Mega, Pesadilla) trios, a four way for the vacant tag titles, and a four way for a trip to Germany’s WXW. Lokillo, Black Fire, Drastic Boy and Jinzo have promos about why they’re winning the trip.

Tonight’s Sabado Retros show with Misterioso & Sagrado defending the Arena Coliseo Tag Team championship against The Panther and Guerrero Maya Jr. I see the challengers as slight favorites

Sunday has Rayo de Jalisco Jr.’s 40th Anniversary show at Arena Mexico, which is quietly supposed to be the final Elite show of the year. IWRG also has their Arena Naucalpan show with a double hair match and two title matches.

Lizmark’s body was flown to Acapulco and buried on Friday. (That link has an open casket photo.) Lizmark will be on the cover of this week’s Box Y Lucha. Alfonso Morales talks about his memories of Lizmark in his weekly column.

Pentagon Jr. & Jesus Zuniga had their handprints added at the Plaza de las Estrellas in Mexico City.

Martha Villalobos held a 10th anniversary party for her promotion.

Solar & Blue Panther face off tomorrow in Arena Coliseo Monterrey.

Thunder and Terrible replaced Felino & Vangellys on Saturday.

Card changed around quite a bit because of the ring, with Thunder being added the big news. Thunder wasn’t mentioned at all on Friday night, so what seems to happening is what happened back in September (and maybe before) – CMLL signals a Thunder/UG match is happening, Thunder disappears from the ring during the build up, CMLL changes it’s plan, and then Thunder comes back to work the original show anyway. And then CMLL starts to build up again for the next show and we’re stuck in this pattern forever. This is why Thunder/UG happening on 01/01 was a positive – at least this cycle would break. Instead, maybe they do it all again in March to build up a garbage match.

CMLL (FRI) 12/25/2015 Arena México

5) Blue Panther Jr. vs Tritón, Esfinge, The Panther, Pegasso, Fuego, Sangre Azteca, Tiger, Raziel, Súper Comando, Cancerbero, Puma [cage]

Much like the last iPPV, this is a one match show. The one match is not likely to be near as good as Sombra/Volador, but this time we know in advance it’s a big moment for someone.  This card does have more going on in the undercard, but there’s nothing that’s sure to be a really good match.

The semimain has the best shot, depending on how much Cibernetico is involved. That’s Cibernetico’s first appearance on a regular show, with no particular build. The idea about keeping the Elite guys only on Sundays seems out the window.

Tercera has the two hair matches which don’t have a date; there’s a good chance you’ll be paying for an angle to build up another iPPV the following week. Maybe there’s some tag combination of Maximo/Kamiatachi and Parka/Casas that could be done to hide Parka – Casas & Maximo were friend in Puebla after all.
