What happened:  Dragon Lee kept the CMLL Lightweight Championship over Kamaitachi in another epic encounter. Kamaitachi was briefly declared champion after taking the third fall, after apparently winning the third fall with the same manuever as last week. However, Dragon Lee’s foot was on the ropes, and commissioner Rambo ordered a restart. Lee won the restarted match, leaving Kamaitachi enraged and defeated.

Super Parka paid back Negro Casas for his foul last week by fouling Casas in a brief match. Casas wants a single match, got no answer. Ultimo Guerrero got the same non answer from Thunder after challenging him to a mask versus hair match.

Charly Sharly Rockstar, the former Charly Manson, returned to Arena Mexico before semimain. Manson went to jail in 2011 and was sentenced to 7 years in jail, but apparently was released after 4. He’s debuting for Elite on Sunday, teaming with his old friend Cibernetico.

What was good:  Dragon Lee and Kamaitachi! Nothing else, you need to skip the rest of this and watch that.

Where can I watch it:  It’ll be on my channel on Tuesday, and the title match from the show is on ClaroSports now.

Match 1: Oro Jr. & Soberano Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte & Canelo Casas
Arena México, 12/04/2015

  1. rudos
    • Arkangel counter powerbomb Soberano Jr. (5:54)
    • Canelo Casas release half nelson suplex Oro Jr. (6:05)
  2. tecnicos
    • Oro Jr. moonsault bodyblock Arkangel (4:23)
    • Soberano Jr. guillotine moonsault Canelo Casas (4:39)
  3. rudos
    • Canelo Casas springboard splash Soberano Jr. (5:33)
    • Arkangel over the knee backbrakcer (5:59)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 16:43

Review: [below average] There were a couple neat spots by the young guys. Soberano looked good throughout the match. Oro had his usual one achingly bad blown spot. The rudos weren’t much good at all. Canelo’s biggest struggle was being in any place near the right position at the right time. Arkangel believes he’s got his this neat tapatia faceslam deal, but can’t ever get in the right position for it. The rudo control segment with these guy is never any good. I have no idea why Canelo put laces on the side of his leg. This one is better in highlights.

Oro special headscissors

Match 2: La Vaquerita, Marcela, Princesa Sugehit vs Amapola, Tiffany, Zeuxis
Arena México, 12/04/2015

  1. tecnicas
    • Vaquerita middle rope elbow drop Tiffany (7:44)
    • Princesa Sugehit La Mistica Amapola (7:50)
  2. rudas
    • Tiffany powerbomb Vaquerita (3:01)
    • Amapola Devil’s Wings Princesa Sugehit (3:17)
  3. rudas
    • Amapola backcracker Vaquerita (3:12)
    • Zeuxis La Roca Marclela (4:37)

Winner: rudas (2-1)
Match Time:15:44

Review: [ok] generally a boring match for most of the way, but picked a little bit in the third fall. Tiffany’s not so good right now, with my favorite being how very careful she was not to accidentally get kicked on a corner charge bit. Zeuxis is the opposite, looking like the best woman in a division in periods and really needing someone to come up to her level to challenge her. They treat her like a bigger star than Amapola, or at least trust Amapola to make Sugehit’s La Mistica look best.

Match 3: Ángel de Oro, Máximo Sexy, Super Porky vs Ephesto, Kráneo, Luciferno
Arena México, 12/04/2015

  1. rudos
    • Kraneo hip attack Maximo (8:05)
    • Ephesto shoulderbreaker Angel de Oro (8:10)
  2. tecnicos
    • Maximo kiss cradle Kraneo (1:52)
    • Super Porky sit Luciferno (1:55)
  3. rudos
    • Kraneo legdrop Super Porky (3:22)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:19

Review: [ok] your usual Porky comedy match, only Kraneo’s on a random win streak that doens’t appear to be going anywhere and probably won’t actually be acknowledged at any point. Kraneo is the only man who can go even with Super Porky on the sumo charge and doesn’t fall down when running into him. That’s a little bit of them mixing up their act, like Monito stealing Maximo’s kiss. Mije was barely involved in this match. Angel de Oro was barely involved too, but still managed to slide out on Ephesto.

Match 4: Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero vs Cavernario, Mephisto, Thunder
Arena México, 12/04/2015

  1. Team Thunder
    • Mephisto Super Devil’s Wings Niebla Roja (3:00)
    • Thunder cradle suplex Euforia (3:18)
  2. Guerreros
    • Ultimo Guerrero inside cradle Thunder (3:03)
  3. Guerreros
    • Pulpo Guerrero on Mephisto (4:36)
    • Niebla Roja Furia Roja Barbaro Cavernario (4:45)

Winner: Guerrero (2-1)
Match Time: 10:48
Notes: Ultimo Guerrero challenged Thunder yet again to a mask/hair match. Thunder did not respond.

Review: [ok] maybe a generous grade, but I forgot to write one down and it doesn’t matter in the least. It’s yet another Thunder/Ultimo Guerrero trios match, the same pattern they’ve been in since July. Thunder is trying to vary at what he’s doing. He dropped the punches and went with forearms and headbutts and other things, but they’re just new things he’s not very good at. It came off like they’ve even given up on trying anything complicated with him for finishes, as the second fall finish was just him standing there and Ultimo Guerrero grabbing him from behind. They didn’t bother in the third fall, even though he should’ve been involved in the decision one way or another. The eventual single match between them isn’t going to be good, but I greatly want to see it just so everyone can move on.

Cavernario has really picked up the slaps
Niebla Roja fired up to be doing this again
Euforia tope

Match 5: Dragon Lee © vs Kamaitachi for the CMLL World Super Lightweight Championship
Arena México, 12/04/2015

1. Kamaitachi flying Canadian Destroyer (1:05)
2. Dragon Lee double stomp (2:41)
3. Kamaitaichi headscissors Canadian Destroyer (12:05)
3b. Dragon Lee bridging back suplex (1:05)

Winner: Dragon Lee
Match Time: 16:56
Notes: Seconds were Okumura and Maximo. The third fall originally ended with Kamaitachi beating Dragon Lee with the same crazy move as last week, only Dragon Lee clearly had his foot on the ropes. Referee Edgar, who had not counted a different pinfall when Dragon Lee had been under the ropes moments earlier, missed the foot this time and counted three. Maximo protested and commissioner Rambo also seemed to have noticed. A replay was shown, and Rambo officially ordered the match restarted after seeing the foot on the ropes in that replay. Okumura & Kamaitachi protested but the match continued. Dragon Lee won cleanly. Kamaitachi attacked the referee, Maxmimo and Dragon Lee after the match.

Review: [excellent] what else are you going to give this match? This was incredible. They found ways to keep raising the difficulty and increasing the danger, so much that this almost needs to be the end because there’s nothing else they can do to live up to expectations and top this. They started with their usual high speed fighting and just went for bigger and bigger spots. Kamaitachi started off using his top rope double knee smash as his Mexico finish; that was blown thru two minutes into the third fall. Kamaitachi pulled out three different ramp dropkicks (and teased another one earlier.) The over the top huracanrana was blocked into a powerbomb and then one more powerbomb. They did so much in fourteen minutes, and then restarted for two more. Nothing could possibly follow this; they didn’t really try in the main event, and the only mistake was this wasn’t the main event. They wouldn’t have been able to pull this off if they didn’t completely trust each other; there wasn’t weird hesitations before spots, there were people running to do moves and trusting the guy would get in position in time. The crowd was totally into it the near falls, completely cared about the restart, and went crazy for the win. The mask match had more emotion and more on the line, but this match felt like it would be career making if anyone but the (relatively few) people in the crowd and the people on the internet saw it. Dragon Lee is the obvious heir to La Sombra’s spot, and this felt like Sombra’s win over Nakamura.

Match 6: Mistico, Super Parka, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Negro Casas, Shocker
Arena México, 12/04/2015

  1. tecnicos
    • Mistico top rope huracanrana Felino (1:55)
    • Volador Shocker pin (1:55)
  2. tecnicos
    • Negro Casas castia Super Parka (2:32)
    • Super Parka foul Negro Casas (2:48)

Winner: tecnicos (2-0)
Match Time: 4:43
Notes: Negro Casas, livid over being cheated, demanded a singles match with Super Parka. Parka didn’t respond.

Review: [below average] the most nothing of nothing matches, but you couldn’t really blame them given the circumstances. They hurried to get out of there and it just pointed out how silly it was to make the main event, but there was nothing they could’ve done to make it meaningful. The advantage of being absurdly short is Super Parka didn’t have time to be exposed and looked the best he has in weeks. Still don’t want to see any of the matches they were building up on this show, which seems like a problem.
