CMLL Puebla: 2015-11-30

how to deal with a troll

Recapped: 11/30/2015

What happened: Marco challenged Shocker to a match next week after a foul, one of three screwjobs in a row (and a fourth where a team broke up.) Ultimo Guerrero fouled Atlantis in the main event, and it was unclear if was meant to go anywhere. King Jaguar stole pins from his rudo teammates, who attacked him for it after the match.

Magia Blanca debuted. He’s Magnifico I, still in a giant M mask.

What was good:  Oh no. Nada. It was not good.

Where can I watch it:  It’s on CMLL’s YouTube channel

Match 1: Magia Blanca, Meyer, Metatron vs Artillero, Fuerza Chicana, Guerrero Espacial
Arena Puebla, 11/30/2015

  1. tecnicos
    • Magia Blanca torito Artillero (7:15)
  2. rudos
    • Artillero nudo Artillero Metatron (6:07)
  3. rudos
    • Fuerza Chicano Weapon X Magica (3:39)
    • Artillero Special on Meyer (5:07)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 18:29
Notes: Debut of Magia Blanca, who was said to be a Lagunero trainee of Ultimo Guerrero.

Review: [below average] A kind of boring match which become obvious as being one once Metatron replaced Star Junior. It did give me some time to look thru Facebook and figure out Magia Blanca’s identity. He looked as distracted as I was early on, blowing an amrdrag and never really impressing. He’s better than this. Most of the guys in this match are better than they were in this one, but it started a trend of really unwatchable matches.

not going on Magia Blanca’s highlight reel
the first guy is me, the second guy is RobViper every time we do a podcast
an actual highlight!

Match 2: Lestat, Oro Jr., Starman vs Disturbio, King Jaguar, Policeman
Arena Puebla, 11/30/2015

  1. tecnicos
    • Oro Jr. springboard tope King Jaguar (7:00)
    • Lestat senton con giro Policeman (7:27)
  2. rudos
    • King Jaguar senton Starman (3:20)
  3. rudos
    • King Jaguar Pulpo Starman (2:51)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:48
Notes: King Jaguar stole pins from his teammates in the second and third fall, so Disturbio and Policeman beat him up afterwords.

Review: [below average] Another boring match, only livened up by King Jaguar’s random turn. The tecnicos themselves didn’t do much – Oro won the long first fall on a move that didn’t seem like it would win the first fall, and the rudos were on the offensive the rest of the way. King Jaguar was a tecnico here until 2010 and I guess he might go back to it, but this also felt like the start of a rudo/rudo feud

all about corner attacks
Oro tope con giro

Match 3: Bengala, Rey Cometa, Stigma vs Canelo Casas, Okumura, Skándalo
Arena Puebla, 11/30/2015

  1. rudos
    • Canelo Casas splash Bengala (5:04)
    • Skandalo Package piledriver Stigma (5:19)
  2. tecnicos
    • Stigma half crab Skanadlo (3:10)
    • Bengala half crab Canelo Casas (3:21)
  3. rudos
    • Okumura foul Rey Cometa (7:03)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:43
Notes: Bengala replaced Delta.

Review: [ok] Third straight not good match. Some bad work, and just lacking effort. It wasn’t everyone, which is why it’s getting the slightly better grade. Bengala broke out two dives, which is maybe two more than he’s had in the last three years on CMLL TV. He looked like a guy who belonged in a tercera, and maybe he’s another guy on the level of Fuego or Stuka if things went differently with his career. Rey Cometa tried, Okumura tried, but the rest of the match was trying. This match has a lot of Stigma/Skandalo without much of it looking good. Skandalo deserves credit for returning from his injuries, but he’s not any good and the toil has only caused him to get worse. Canelo is Canelo.

well, guess Volador & Sombra aren’t going to be using these spots any more…
triple tope – watch Canelo crush himself on the chair
Bengala is now an endangered animal
just wanted the dive, but had to leave in the Canelo Casas blown spot

Match 4: Marco Corleone, Máximo Sexy, Super Porky vs Kráneo, Ripper, Shocker
Arena Puebla, 11/30/2015

  1. rudos
    • Shocker legdrop Marco Corleone (2:23)
  2. tecnicos
    • Super Porky splash Kraneo (1:45)
    • Maximo kiss Ripper (1:48)
  3. rudos
    • Shocker foul Marco Corleone (6:33)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:44
Notes: Marco challenged Shocker to a match next week, though got his mic turned off for questionable language

Review: [ok] Professional match, which makes it better than the other matches so far. Marco/Shocker is possibly more interesting than Maximo/Shocker, but it’s still Shocker and that’s the struggle. They did a good job of building it up anyway, but they were helped by the crowd (most of it, anyway) being into Maximo & Porky’s antics. Good the crowd had something they liked.

I think I was KOed for the rest of the match
no idea why Ripper did this in a comedy match

Match 5: Atlantis, Mistico, Volador Jr. vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero
Arena Puebla, 11/30/2015

  1. Guerreros
    • Guerreros double U triple submission (4:14)
  2. tecnicos
    • Mistico huracarnana Euforia (1:19)
    • Volador inside cradle Gran Guerrero (1:27)
  3. tecnicos
    • DQ Ultimo Guerrero [foul on Atlantis] (2:41)

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:22
Notes: Atlantis wanted an extra fall. UG did not, said maybe next week

Review: [ok] the usual shortened version of a main event trios. Maybe even more sped up than planned; Ultimo Guerrero very obviously called an audible to go to the finishing sequence without letting Mistico get in his offense. (Mistico wasn’t having a good night, having a weird argument with Volador in the background before their usual comeback spots, and looking bad on his huracanrana.) There’s nothing you haven’t seen multiple times in better ways.

fall down without the legsweep was Mistico’s day
Volador sends Mistico back into position, at least the second time he was not where he was supposed to be
double tope con giro
