DTU vs CMLL, Dragon Lee & Kamaitachi to have one more title match, Bello Greco

DTU (THU) 11/26/2015 Arena Aficion [+LuchaTV, DTU, Estrellas del Ring, Funcion Estelar]
1) Concord & Perro Negro Jr. b Electrick Boy & Niño De Cobre
2) Lokillo b Chica Ye-Ye, El Intruso Jr., Jimmy, Joven Maravilla, Kevin, Black Fire, El Exótico, Ovett, Tony[cibernetico]
Lokillo beat Tony for the win after Kevin hit Tony with the back of a chair. Jimmy also hit his fellow Nerds with a board. Kevin said he’s sick of them all fightning and proposed an apuesta match.
3) Dragón Rojo Jr. b Rocky Lobo [lightning]
said to be very good
4) Cíclope & Miedo Extremo b Delta & Stuka Jr. and Lanzeloth & Septimo Dragón
Miedo & Ciclope beat Lanzeloth & Septimo. Delta & Stuka were eliminated first, but came back and attacked Ciclope & Miedo after the match. Stuka wants a title match with Ciclope.
5) Drastik Boy b Titán (CMLL)
Very good match. Titan had Drastic Boy beat, but the referee missed it.
6) Misterioso Jr. (CMLL), Psicosis II, Tritón (CMLL) b Aero Boy, Pesadilla, Violento Jack
Triton was the mystery luchador. Psicosis snuck in a foul on Pesadilla. The CMLL team beat up the DTU guys after the match. Rocky Lobo & Lanzeloth tried to make the save, but Titan ran in to help the CMLL guys. Crazy Boy appeared to challenge Psicosis & Titan to show up to DTU 8 for an extreme cage match.
7) Blue Panther, Negro Navarro, Paraoniko b Ángel o Demonio, Solar I, Valiente
money thrown in. Angel o Demonio invited Blue Panther to the DTU 8th Anniversary show.

Attendance looked to be up – up from DTU and up from CMLL only shows in this arena. Mixing the two worked out. Titan’s talked in the past about wanting to do very occasional extreme matches and it seems like he’s going to get his chance on the DTU Anniversary show. No date for that one yet.

CMLL (FRI) 11/27/2015 Arena México [CMLL, thecubsfan]
1) Espanto Jr. & Hijo del Signo b Robin & Sensei
11:45. Rudos took 1/3.
2) Esfinge, Soberano Jr., The Panther DQ Disturbio, Okumura, Súper Comando
8:41. Straight falls. Panther & Comando feuded, with Comando pulling off Panther’s mask for the DQ. Panther demanded a mask match, Comando denied him and attacked him instead.
3) Ángel de Oro, Titán, Tritón b Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado
11:11. Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) Kamaitachi b Dragon Lee [lightning]
Kamaitachi won in 6:38 with a powerbomb reversed into a Destroyer. Kamaitachi demanded a title shot, and Dragon Lee accepted for next week.
5) Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto b Atlantis, Guerrero Maya Jr., Stuka Jr.
Rudos won in 11:59
6) Mistico, Super Parka, Volador Jr. DQ Felino, Negro Casas, Shocker
Tecnicos took 1/3, the last when Negro Casas fouled Super Parka (who was in his Volador gear; his son had it in the original style as well.) Casas & Parka had been feuding during the match, and Volador Jr. challenged Casas to a singles match with his father.

Show was generally good, but noticeable shorter than usual. The opener came dangerously close to being the longest match on the show, and 12 minutes as the longest match is unusual. The crowd seemed to be about the usual size but it was tough to be sure; the cameras stuck to a group of women (Liz Vega and friends, including some former edecans) who happened to be seated in the first couple of rows. Kamaitachi/Dragon Lee was the best match on the show. Super Parka looked old in the main event.

Bello Greco, Raul Garcia Salazar, passed away on Friday. Greco’s career goes back to the 60s as el Greco, but his biggest run started in the 70s when he switched to the Bello Greco character. It was a forerunner to the exotico characters seen today, and he formed teams with Sergio el Hermoso and Babe Sharon as La Ola Lila. His in-ring career lasted into the first year of AAA, where he worked as the original Karis La Momia. (The person who took over the character is now the second La Parka.) Greco had a connection to AAA off and on over the years, working as a referee, working behind the scenes, and making some cameos in 2006 when his three sons (Super Calo, Alan Stone and Chris Stone) were forming a group.

AAA and CMLL have notes acknowledging his death; CMLL did so Saturday and there was nothing on last night’s show about it. KrisZ, SuperLuchasFunction Estelar, and DJ Spectro have obits.

Today’s CMLL Sabado Retros show has Mistico, Dragon Lee and La Mascara versus Ultimo Guerrero, Shocker and Euforia.

La Sombra’s NXT media tour now includes an interview with Record, where he says he was talking to WWE before his mask loss but nothing was concrete at that time and they advised him not do anything that would mess up his lucha career.  For US indy wrestlers, it seems like there’s always a few months wait from the time they’re offereed a spot in NXT and when the actually start there, which is consumed with waiting for certain paperwork and medical tests to be finished. It’s probably even longer period if you’re coming from outside the US and need work visas and such to be worked out. Maybe all that was done in October and that’s when Sombra told CMLL he was for sure leaving. He probably didn’t know for sure until then because something could’ve gone with that application process, and so could’ve been stuck in Mexico without his mask if something did go wrong, but he had to start the process in August or prior.

AAA sent out a Mesias interview building up his feud with Fenix. Those two aren’t currently scheduled to meet in Neza (Mesias isn’t on the card), so it’s an interview building up the Guerra de Titanes card – which currently has no date or location. At least it implies they still plan on running that show.

The Neza local promoters is saying their show will officially be announced on TV today (so buy the tickets before everyone else finds out, basically.) AAA’s recent TV policy is ignoring negative news – there’s been no mention of Caristico, Alberto or Cibernetico on TV – so I wouldn’t expect a lot of talk about Guerra de Titanes today.

AAA put up last week’s TV show on their YouTube channel. They’re missing the week before, the final part of Nuevo Laredo, but that should be up soon. Today’s TV show will be up on Monday.

ESPN Deportes has an interview with Sexy Star.

A 12/17 benefit show for Ringo Mendoza will have a Satanico vs Javier Cruz hair vs hair match.

Tiger would like a match in All Elite against Extreme Tiger or Super Crazy.

In Xalapa, Guerrera Isis unmasked Furia Azteca, who’s Guadalupe Montoya from Tlaxcala, 8 years a wrestler.

Lineup

CMLL (FRI) 12/04/2015 Arena México
1) Oro Jr. & Soberano Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte & Canelo Casas
2) La Vaquerita, Marcela, Princesa Sugehit vs Amapola, Tiffany, Zeuxis
3) Ángel de Oro, Máximo Sexy, Super Porky vs Ephesto, Kráneo, Luciferno
4) Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero vs Cavernario, Mephisto, Thunder
5) Dragon Lee © vs Kamaitachi [CMLL SL]
Dragon Lee’s fourth defense, all against Kamaitachi
6) Mistico, Super Parka, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Negro Casas, Shocker

Main event is a rematch. Thunder/Ultimo Guerrero again in the fourth match. Card overall seems not as good as this week

Kamaitachi is probably a week or two from wrapping up – he’s listed on an indy show on the 12/13 – but I still think it’s possible he wins the title here and they do the rematch on FantasticaMania.
