CMLL on ClaroSports.com: 2015-11-20

KeMonito

Recapped: 11/21/2015

What happened: Not much! Puma and The Panther feuded in their match, Kamiatachi and Dragon Lee continued the feud in their match, and everyone seemed to be feuding in the segunda, but this was a pretty quiet show.

What was good: A couple matches were good, but nothing must see.

Where can I watch it: It’ll be up my YouTube channel on Tuesday.

Match 1: Fantasy & Stukita vs Demus 3:16 & Mercurio
Arena México, 11/20/2015

  1. tecnicos
    • Stukita triple moonsault Mercurio (6:18)
    • Fantsay leglock Demus 3:16 (6:34)
  2. rudos
    • Demus top rope splash Fantasy (1:57)
    • Merucrio powerbomb Stukita (2:15)
  3. tecnicos
    • Demus Driver on Fantasy (4:57)
    • COR Stukita (5:12)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:06

Review: [ok] not as complete a match as some of Stukita’s other matches. He and Demus didn’t click in the first fall, and the second fall had nothing to it. There’s a couple minute stretch in the third fall where every thing’s clicking, but you can say that about a lot of CMLL matches, and Stukita is better than a lot of CMLL matches. Demus has had better matches too, it wasn’t just Stukita.

Match 2: Hombre Bala Jr., Pegasso, Súper Halcón Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Sangre Azteca, Súper Comando
Arena México, 11/20/2015

  1. tecnicos
    • Super Halcon moonsault Arkangel (8:28)
    • Pegasso Code Red Sangre Azteca (8:39)
  2. rudos
    • Sangre Azteca inverted powerslam Super Halcon (7:50)
    • Super Comando top rope frog splash Pegasso (8:37)
  3. tecnicos
    • DQ Sangre Azteca mask pull [Hombre Bala] (0:36)

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 16:47
Notes: lots of mask ripping in this match.

Review: [below average] tremendously boring match. Pegasso was working harder than the other five guys combined, but it really dragged in the second fall. The rudos weren’t good and Super Comando didn’t work so well with them, and Arkangel & Sangre Azteca aren’t that good normally. The least fun match of this program, whatever it’s supposed to be.

a highlight

Match 3: Blue Panther, Blue Panther Jr., The Panther vs Felino, Puma, Tiger
Arena México, 11/20/2015

  1. Felinos
    • Tiger reverse figure four Blue Panther (5:35)
  2. Panthers
    • Blue Panther Jr. fujiwara armbar Felino (4:15)
  3. Felinos
    • Mouse Trap on Blue Panther JR. (3:18)
    • Puma pull up powerbomb The Panther (5:29)

Winner: Felinos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:19
Notes: Puma and the Panther heavily feuded.

Review: [good] also felt like it was dragging for the first half, but got in gear midway thru. Panther and Puma feuding was the best part of this match and seem to match up well for a singles match. I just hope Super Comando didn’t somehow lose his feud here. Blue Panther Jr. struggled, but he and his father were mostly kept out of way to focus on the Panther fighting back. Panther needs to develop a few more moves – he seems to use the same ones every match because he doesn’t have any extra and it showed in a longer match like this – but some of the ones he does are very good.

Match 4: Guerrero Maya Jr., Máximo Sexy, Stuka Jr. vs Kráneo, Morphosis, Ripper
Arena México, 11/20/2015

  1. Invasors
    • Morphosis springboard splash Stuka Jr. (4:38)
    • Ripper tapatia Guerrero Maya (4:42)
  2. tecnicos
    • Stuka Jr. torpedo splash Ripper (3:16)
  3. Invasors
    • Morphosis flipping double legdrop Stuka Jr. (6:13)
    • Ripper senton Maya (6:33)

Winner: Invasors
Match Time: 14:31

Review: [ok] the usual Invasors versus tecnicos match, with the tecnicos showing off and the Invasors getting the worst of it, except they actually won this one. Looking back at it, it feels like they got the win because every other match went exactly how you’d expect it to go. We got to see two different Morphosis finishers in one match, a rare occurrence indeed. Tecnicos were not going at top speed and this kind of just a cliché match, but the crowd enjoyed it – the antics of KeMonito and Mije really carried things.

highlight of the night

Match 5: Atlantis, Dragon Lee, Volador Jr. vs Kamaitachi, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Arena México, 11/20/2015

  1. rudos
    • Mr. Niebla splash Volador Jr. (1:18)
    • Kamaitachi German suplex Dragon Lee (1;33)
  2. tecnicos
    • Volador top rope huracanrana Negro Casas (2:01)
    • Atlantis casadora cradle Mr. Niebla (2:04)
  3. tecnicos
    • DQ Kamaitachi mask pull (4:55)

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:32

Review: [good] rapid greatness of Kamiatachi and Dragon Lee with Negro Casas & Volador Jr. also working very hard. This got the smallest amount of time of any match on the show, but they seemed to pack in more action than a couple of other matches. Dragon Lee’s focused on using a jumping knee lift as his new way of damaging Kamaitachi, while Kamaitachi is just letting Dragon Lee take flight on his German suplexes. Finish was a disappointment if only because it feels like Kamaitachi has to actually win for this to go anywhere. Casas taking the top rope hurcanrana was amazing.

Match 6: La Máscara, Marco Corleone, Rush vs Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible
Arena México, 11/20/2015

  1. Ingobernables
    • Marco Corleone punch, Rush & La Mascara double suplex Shocker (3:16)
  2. rudos
    • TGR superbomb Rush (1:53)
  3. Ingobernables
    • Marco Corleone Aero Italiana Shocker (5:07)
    • Rush corner dropkick Rey Bucanero (5:07)
    • La Mascara corner dropkick Terrible (5:07)

Winner: Ingobernables (2-1)
Match Time: 10:16

Review: [ok] the parts where the Ingobernables were destroying TGR was fun, the other parts were forgettable. I thought there might be some tribute or reference to Rush Sombra, but they just continued on as if there wasn’t a fourth guy. They also continued on like this was a house show and not the biggest show of the week. It felt like the winter offseason had already started, and maybe Sombra/Rush was the year end main event.
