11/15 AAA TV Results (Ciudad Juarez)

AAA TV (SUN) 11/15/2015 Gimnasio Municipal Josué Neri Santos, Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua [@aleskywalker, @andgosto, @TKD_117, AAA]
1) Centinela, Mr. Alfa, Pagano b Aéreo, Dragón, Latino
Dark match. Pagano tried a Brillo Dorado but it went wrong. Aereo looked good.
2) Dinastía b Mini Abismo Negro [AAA MINI]
Dinastia’s 7th defense (5 on TV, 2 unofficially on spot shows) and first since June. Pagano & Aereo worked as seconds. Dinastia won cleanly.
3) Australian Suicide & Speedball b Daga & Steve Pain
Speedball beat Steve Pain in a very good match. Daga attacked Suicide after the match.
4) Garza Jr., Monsther Clown, Murder Clown b Dark Cuervo, Dark Scoria, Zorro
Cuervo appeared as normal, though his name appeared as wrestling on the next Elite show in the Box Y Lucha released earlier that day. Garza Jr. got his first win. Zorro asked Cuervo & Scoria to join him in a new faction (so maybe Zorro really was the stalker?)
5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Parka Negra, Taurus b Blue Demon, Electroshock, La Parka
Pirata snuck in a foul on Electroshock.
6) Averno, Chessman, Psicosis I b Chris Masters, Psycho Clown, Rey Misterio Jr.
Psicosis I replaced Cibernetico (back to AAA), Chris Masters was the mystery tecnico. This was Rey & Psicosis’ first match in AAA since 1996 (they’ve met in Promo Azteca, WCW, CMLL and WWE since.) Psicosis first match in AAA since being fired in May 2014. Rey beat Psicosis clean with a frog splash as a tribute to Eddie Guerrero. Konnan joined Rey (in something probably not taped for TV), talking about past Juarez greats – Fishman, El Cobarde, Cinta de Oro, Rocky Star, Crazy 32, Crazy 33, Ari Romero and Eddie Guerrero.

Air Date: 12/05. AAA airing Guerra de Titanes on a Friday night changed the meaning of this taping. This is now the first show that’ll air after the last PPV, and is the start of the lame duck winter period. Sketching this out for TV

11/21: Xalapa part 1
11/28: Xalapa part 2
(Guerra de Titanes happens on 12/04)
12/06: Juarez (one part)
12/12: Guerra de Titanes part 1
12/19: Guerra de Titanes part 2
12/26,  01/02, 01/09: Best of/Year In Review material
01/16: next taping

There’s usually one more taping in December and one taping in late January, but AAA’s news for the year is almost over. It works out smoothly that this will also be the period when they’ll be busiest with Lucha Underground.

No mentioned of a AAA Mega heavyweight title tournament on the taping. Maybe they’re rethinking, but there’s generally not a sign of anything big for Guerra de Titantes. It’s like Heroes Inmortales where you can see some the undercard come together but they’re lacking a headline match. Konnan’s comments sounded like AAA had planned to do a title switch with Alberto (to Mundo? someone else?) and it doesn’t feel like they’ve come up with a replacement match. If anything, that heavyweight title tournament/decider might get added to the card not because of a need to have a champion, but a need to add a big match to the Guerra de Titanes.

Chris Masters is a rival of Rey Mysterio on the Que Viva el Rey show, but they just did Wagner turning on Rey and doing that twice in a short time would’ve been lame. (It’s also more likely Wagner will be back than Masters.) He and Psicosis are working the Que Viva el Rey shows.

I called Zorro being the stalker! I might be correct! This is the kind of cutting edge insight that drives people to luchablog dot com. No sign of Cuervo leaving town, no matter what was listed in Box Y Lucha. It seems like false advertisements and just bad acting for Elite to put those names out there if they’re not for sure coming, but it’s not like AAA can be critical of others advertising names who won’t be there.

Next taping is Guerra de Titanes on 12/04 in Tampico.

Edit: forgot to mention – this was a sell out, or really close. Good turnout for AAA’s return to Juarez with a TV taping.
