Recapped: 10/24/2015

What happened: Nothing!

What was good:  Leaving Mexico. I enjoyed hanging out with everyone, but now that I know that I would’ve seen this show live had I stayed one more day, I’m glad I left. The main event was fine.

Where can I watch it: It’s on my YouTube channel.

    • Pequeno Violencia step over armbar Aereo (5:04)
  2. tecnicos

  3. tecnicos
    • Electrico springboard half crab Pequeno Violencia (2:00)
    • Aereo modified half crab Pequeno Universo (2:24)

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:50

Review: [below average] a match where the winners didn’t really bother to celebrate after because they were well aware of the quality of the match they just had. This wasn’t really Electrico or Aereo’s fault, whoever decided to pair the two worst minis together deserves all the blame. I kind of wanted to make the case that Pequeno Universo is better than Pequeno Violencia, because Universo may have no skill but appears to be trying while Violencia may not have much to offer after his many injuries and clearly doesn’t care. The problem is Pequeno Universo was just outright awful in this match, blowing the finish in the second fall and blowing it worse in the third fall. He’s just terrible and it’s kind of glaring how CMLL hasn’t found a new rudo to replace him after years of being terrible.

Match 2: Metatrón, Robin, Sensei vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Canelo Casas, Inquisidor

  2. rudos
    • Inquisidor front cracker Sensei (2:56)

  3. rudos
    • Arkangel low blow elbow drop Robin (7:31)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 17:39

Review: [bad] This match didn’t look like it’d be any good and turned out not to be any good. The first especially felt like amateur hour, with guys early, late, coming up short on moves, and messing up others Metatron’s signature move is a hesitation. He has no timing after all these years. Arkangel was a patient and generous rudo to wait the half hour it took for Robin to execute an ill fitting middle rope huracanrana. Sensei and Arkangel had a brief strike exchange best described as clumsy. The tecnicos got multiple fake out comebacks before doing the same comedy bit they had done in the first fall. A faked out triple dive spot was screwed up so badly that it was unclear who had done things wrong, just that it looked like a complete mess that would’ve been laughed off most indie shows. Unlike the minis match, this one just kept on going far long than it needed or deserved, including some really pointless false finishes. Enough of this.

Match 3: Blue Panther Jr., Delta, The Panther vs Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado

  2. tecnicos
    • The Panther huracanrarana Sagrado (2:22)
    • Blue Panther Jr. nudo lagunero Misterioso (2:28)
  3. Boricuas
    • Pierroth reverse Skandalo Driver The Panther (3:10)
    • Misterioso Gori Special Blue Panther Jr. (3:10)

Winner: Boricuas (2-1)
Match Time: 6:24

Review: [ok] There’s often one really short fall in a Boricuas match. Sometimes there’s two. This was three, for a trios match that just crack five minutes, and still was somehow the best match on this show easily so far. The tecnicos are always fired up to face the Boricuas, in a way they’re not for the Guerrero or TGR or pretty much anyone else. Pierroth setting up The Panther for a tombstone piledriver, then simply changing the grip on the legs before dropping Panther down, totally exposed the absurdity of the rule.

    • Invasors swinging gate bomb Titan (4:05)
    • Kraneo legdrop Super Porky (4:42)
  2. tecnicos

  3. Invasors
    • Ripper senton Blue Panther (4:30)

Winner: Invasors (2-1)
Match Time: 11:34

Review: [ok] Another brief match that didn’t have a lot to it, though it got interesting in the last few minutes thanks to planned randomness. Titan teaming being stuck in the black hole of Super Porky matches is not a great thing for those of who like to see Titan in exciting matches, but at least Titan fighting the Invasors is pretty fun. They’re more willing to do stuff than his partners.

  1. Los Ingobernables
    • La Sombra double knee smash Felino (3:14)
    • La Mascara heel kick Negro Casas (3:31)
  2. Peste Negra
    • Felino castia Rush (1:38)
    • Mr. Niebla middle rope senton La Mascara (1:52)
  3. Los Inogbernables
    • Sombra quebrada Mr. Niebla (6:03)

Winner: Los Ingobernables
Match Time: 11:26

Review: [good] best match at the show; maybe less than some other Ingobernables/Peste Negra matches but Sombra & Rush felt like huge stars on this otherwise dismal show. The first fall was the best fight, and Negro & Sombra battling into the crowd was cool too, but it does fall into usual Peste Negra silliness by the end. The crowd is totally into them and it does feel like they actually care when the Ingobernables beat them at the end. The video I have seemed to be falling apart at the end, fitting in with the rest of the show.

gotta keep your eyes on the second slap
