Naito showed up with Los Ingobernables and spend the match wandering around ringside. Naito snuck in the ring to foul Volador and set up a Sombra win.

The Ingobernables were happy about humiliating VoladorHechicero was satisfied with his win.

The feed was blocked in the US and probably should be assumed to be any time it’s on ClaroSports going forward. It’s frustrating. The feed died at the end of the fourth match and it took me until the sixth match to get back on.

Naito’s not booked next week or any place else I can still in Mexico. He might be in Mexico City only just to hang out between NJPW appearances and interfere in matches.

The next big show in Arena Mexico is the first one of the relaunched Elite Lucha Libre group. Like everything else, it’s main evented by Volador versus Los Ingobernables, with Volador teaming with old friend/enemy Mistic 2.0. +LuchaTV interviewed Principe Diamante, Fly Warrior and Golden Magic about their appearances on the show.

NJPW announced the schedule for the 2016 FantasticaMania tour

01/17 Kōchi
01/19 Kyoto
01/20 Osaka
01/22 – 01/24 Korakuen Hall in Tokyo

Kochi replaces Kagawa from last year. They ran one of the three Tokyo shows in Shin-Kiba 1st ring in previous years. Some of the shows will be on NJPWWorld, but it won’t be announced which ones for quite a while.

The list of luchadors on the tour typically comes out the day after the November NJPW major show, so maybe 11/09 this year. They’re teasing the possibility a different CMLL luchador may be loaned out to NJPW for a year, like Mascara Dorada this past year. Given Mascara Dorada hasn’t really done that much, this doesn’t seem like the greatest plan. (Mascara Dorada lost in a first round of a tournament today, as always.)

Guerrero Negro Jr. is doing better after being shot, and told Zocalo Deportes that CMLL invited him to return to the promotion after he recovers. He expects to return to Arena Mexico the second week of January. That’s when many guys will be gone for FantasticaMania, so it’s a little believable CMLL would have spaces to bring people in. I’m not sure I totally believe this story, but it’s something to watch out for.

Cadena3 is indeed still on the air, and their internet feed was still working as of this writing, so tonight’s episode of Tuesday lucha will air as scheduled. That’ll be it, at least for now.

5th defense

This is a very ordinary card outside the main event, a match they’ve done many times and just two months ago for free on the internet. You’re not trying to hard when Pequeno Unvierso makes an iPPV cut, and you really have to do more than one meaningful match. With the strange and seemingly uncoordinated way CMLL works on things, it feels like maybe the iPPV & TV people were excited to do a big show for Dia del Muertos, but maybe not so much the programming group.

The real selling point is the Dia de Muertos set dressing and costuming, which will look great but might not be enough for people who can just see the one important match for free a few weeks later. (Also, I’d expect a good amount of people confused if they can actually watch it since the previous Friday shows have been blocked.) It is only $6, but the buys are going to well down from last time.

Super Comando/The Panther is a real feud.

IWRG (SUN) 11/01/2015 Arena Naucalpan
Castillo del Terror, 2015
1) Black Drago & Dragón Bane vs Atomic Star & Vampiro Metálico
2) Leo, Mike, Teelo vs Diablo Jr. I, Imposible, Vortize
3) Mega, Super Mega, Ultra Mega vs Eterno, Oficial AK47, Spector
4) Máscara Año 2000 Jr. © vs Hijo De Dos Caras [IWRG IC HEAVY]
first defense
5) Golden Magic vs Trauma II, Súper Nova, Hijo del Pantera, Rafy, Canis Lupus, Trauma I, El Golpeador, Rayan, Astro Rey Jr. [cage]

This is actually the bigger card (in the context of the promotion) than the CMLL iPPV, though the Mega/Comandos cage match seems to have disappeared. And I’ll probably skip that title match. Second match is Teelo’s first since July.

Golpeador seems like the favorite to lose his mask, but Rayan’s there too. Astro Rey hasn’t been on these shows in quite a while and you can never rule out a Ninja Turtle. The Traumas, Golden Magic, Canis Lupus, Super Nova and Hijo del Pantera all seem very unlikely to lose their mask.
