AAA & Myzteziz part way, Argenis, Argos and Electroshock likely leaving too, Elite card, Molotov unmasked

AAA announced this morning that Myzteziz was not working for them any more. The statement portrays it as a mutual agreement not to work together any more. AAA’s silence the last few days led most to guess they were being careful what they said before suing Myzteziz for breaking his contract. This seems to suggest that’s not the plan, which surprises me. They’ve gone out of their way not to say anything bad Myzteziz on the way out – there’s not the stream of messages from Konnan ripping Myzteziz a new one on Twitter we were all hoping for – which only seemed to be happening to better position themselves in a court case. Maybe there’s a missing piece.

AAA specifically note they owned the Myzteziz name to prevent him using it for the indies, but that dude has so many names he can use on posters (and that’s probably the least well known of them) and already has a new mask, so it’s the least of his concerns. Some local promoter is going to goof up and put the wrong name on the poster, but he’s probably going to just be listed as Mistico in a lot of places. I don’t think AAA will be putting someone different out under the name.

The next shoe to drop is AAA announcing replacements for Myzteziz. The Arena Neza promotion has announced Dr. Wagner will take Myzteziz’s place in Neza on Friday. The next booking after that is the TV taping on Reynosa.

On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said AAA did not find out Myzteziz was in CMLL until he was in the locker room. (Someone in Arena Mexico called them; it sounds cool if it’s a luchador, but it might be a member of the press since they were tipped off to come to the show.) Meltzer also said AAA also believes Myzteziz was recruiting other AAA wrestlers to come with them. AAA believes no one’s going, but they’ve very angry. There’s a little bit of irony in that, because that’s the story of how AAA was founded. Myzteziz seems much more like Octagon without an Antonio Pena or Konnan in this version.

Meltzer’s belief is it was the issues between Alberto el Patron and Myzteziz which led to Myzteziz to leave. Things had not changed much between them since Alberto’s blow up on Twitter before TripleMania. Meltzer said the two had to be kept apart and dressed in different parts of the arena when they were both on the same show (which would’ve only been TripleMania and Heroes Inmortales.) Those two have very real issues and it’s why myself and others were really skeptical the match with both of them in Ciudad Juarez was ever really going to happen. Meltzer also brought up Myzteziz being the behind Rey & Alberto in the pecking order in AAA and having a chance to be the top guy in CMLL. Myzteziz not only can go back to being at the top, but he can go back to being the top as a tecnico. He seems to like playing the rudo with the over the top evil laugh, but he does better business for himself as a tecnico.

(Alberto is having his own issues. He’s no longer appearing on Germany after demanding his flight be rescheduled at the last minute at a considerable cost. Alberto has actually worked indy shows without issues, but the number of shows he hasn’t worked due to issues is piling up.)

Argos & Argenis may be no longer working for AAA. They changed their Facebook fan page names to remove references to AAA at about the same time on Monday evening. It’s unknown if they were fired or quit. No Mexico based luchador is going to work for Lucha Underground without also working for AAA, so Argenis leaving AAA means Lucha Underground needs a new Disciple of Death. Neither of those guys are booked on the Elite Lucha Libre show and are no certain bets to be brought back into CMLL unless Myzteziz insists on it, so their major league careers could be over because of their brother’s decision.

Myzteziz’s only statement since Friday night was posting on Twitter that someone stole his phone and a tree fell on his car. I’m not sure if karma is a real thing but that seems like strong evidence in one direction.

The Elite Lucha Libre show for all that trouble

Elite Lucha Libre (SUN) 10/25/2015 Arena México
1) Fly Warrior & Principe Diamante vs Pegasso & Puma (CMLL)
2) Aeroboy, Ángel de Oro, Golden Magic vs Kamaitachi, Okumura, Tiger
3) Heddi Karaoui & Zumbi vs Bárbaro Cavernario & Hechicero
4) Negro Navarro & Solar I vs Blue Panther & Negro Casas
5) Máximo, Silver King, Valiente vs Bestia 666, Damián 666, Halloween
6) Ex-Mistico & Volador Jr. vs La Máscara & Rush

“Ex-Mistico” is probably a placeholder name. He’s right back to being a tecnico, right against the Ingobernables. Rush wasn’t in CMLL when Mistico left, but he wasn’t Rush yet. Literally: he was still “Rouge”.

Silver King – it’s the original in the picture, not one of his many children – is a weird inclusion on this card. He hasn’t been working for this group previously. But Pegasso being a rudo is also weird so who knows.

There are some good matches on this show. They all have non-CMLL guys on them, which means this probably will be skipped by TV (ClaroSports/Titanes el Ring) and they’ll double up on the 10/23 Friday night show. There will be plenty of fan cams on YouTube anyway.

In other AAA roster news, Electroshock says he needs promoters to contact him for indy bookings. My impression is this is not a fakeout and he’s leaving AAA (or has actually already left.) Electroshock is currently listed as working in Durango on a spot show for AAA in the 25th, and then the weird bull terrier match with Taurus in Juarez. Given Taurus came in with two straight wins, Electroshock probably wasn’t planned to win that either. The Holocausto faction has seemed to be done for a while too. AAA seems to have plans to keep booking the older veterans but want to move on from them.

CMLL (SUN) 10/11/2015 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara[CMLL]
1) Black Sugar & Mr. Apolo b Ángel Aéreo & Capitan Cobra
2) El Divino, El Yaqui, Linterna DQ El Chakal, Gran Kenut, Relampago
Yaqui’s debut as a tecnico, feuding with el Chakal. Yaqui had Chakal beat when Mr. Apolo ran in to attack for the DQ. Nube Roja made the save to set up a tag match.
3) Monster Truck, Rey Trueno, Siniestro b Lycan, Magnum, Mr. Iguana
Monster Truck defeated Mr. Iguna with a powerbomb.
4) Chica Tormenta b La Pantera © [NORTE FEMENIL]
Tormenta beat Pantera to win the title.
5) Esfinge, Gallo, Kempo Dragon b Furia Roja, Príncipe Kisho, Ráfaga
Kempo Dragon & Esfinge didn’t get along. Gallo tried to play peacemaker, but it fell apart. Gallo & Esfinge (accidentally?) hitting Kempo Dragon led Tigre Blanco (Sinaloa, not ex-CMLL) to run out to make the save. He attacked Gallo & Esfinge, so they won by DQ, but the idea was a Gallo/Esfinge vs Kempo/Tigre tag title match.

Main event kicks off the Sinaloa/Jalisco feud, which seemed to be building up the last couple of months.

Molotov unmasked

CMLL (MON) 10/12/2015 Arena Puebla [CMLL]
1) Arkalis, Milenium, Zaeta Roja b Ares, Espíritu Maligno, Saurón
tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Cancerbero, Fuerza Chicana, Raziel b Black Tiger, Magnus, Oro Jr.
Rudos took 2/3 in a match which fell apart ealry.
3) Ángel de Oro, Stigma, Stuka Jr. b Puma, Tiger, Virus
Tecnicos took 1/3. Stigma has druids now (who are much taller than him.)
4) Lestat b Molotov [mask]
Lestat took falls 2/3 in a poor match. Molotov is Marco Saldivar, 37 years old, 17 years a luchador, from Mexico City
5) La Sombra, Marco Corleone, Máximo b Euforia, Mr. Niebla, Shocker
Tecnicos toko 1/3.
6) Volador Jr. © b Mephisto [NWA WELTER]
Voaldor kept the title by taking falls 2/3 despite a knee injury. Match was a usual Volador special. 4th defense

The bad stuff on this show was very bad. The good stuff was good, but you want to pick your spots. This whole feud was bad for Molotov, and bad because of Molotov. I’m not sure it would’ve made any difference but maybe they shouldn’t have bothered to turn him rudo if this is just a mask loss and a few matches before retirment. Maybe he would’ve been more confident if he was stayed in the tecnico role he’s used to and he did this feud against Espiritu Maligno or Ares or another local rudo if it had to be a local. Second match appeared to be guys not wanting to work with each other and there was no saving that.

CMLL’s week of cards with actual main events continues tonight. Arena Mexico has Mephisto versus Dragon Lee, which will be the same as last night’s Volador’s match only with Dragon Lee’s moves instead. Arena Coliseo Guadalajara has rivals La Mascara & Volador getting a tag title shot against Shocker & Negro Casas, a match being billed as an attraction despite no reason to want to see it.

Diva Salvaje appeared to be very drunk in a match with Pasion Kristal this past Saturday. Highlights include Diva Salvaje throwing a chair at fans. That link has the video. Diva’s apologized in another video and offered to come back to work for free. This would be probably a much bigger story on a slower week (and did turn into a big story on Facebook.)

Box y Lucha’s listing for this week’s issue #3207 says they have a Myzteziz article inside, though it must’ve been too late to make the cover. It reads like the quotes from the press conference.

WCW Worldwide has an interview with Vampiro from 1992. “I’m not very knowledgeable about moves but my energy is enormous” is a good Vampiro quote.

LuchaWorld has this week’s PosterMania.

Porra Fresa writes about the first year of Arena Coliseo San Ramon.

Lineups

Cara Lucha (SAT) 10/17/2015 Arena San Juan Pantitlan, Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, Estado de México
1) ? vs ??
2) Keira vs ? (Cmll)
3) Rayo Star & Sky Man vs Astral & Stukita
4) Kilvan, Wasson, Yoruba vs ? (Cmll), Espanto Jr., Jocker (Guadalajara)
5) Hechicero (CMLL) vs Trauma I
6) Felino & Mr. Niebla vs Black Terry & Trauma I

This was announced a little while back but I didn’t post it here. I kind of don’t want Mr. Niebla (or even more 2015 Felino) on the Good Match Indies, but it might also be a good business move. Cara Lucha posted a Black Terry interview talking about the match.

IWRG (SUN) 10/18/2015 Arena Naucalpan
1) Adrenalina & Dragón Bane vs Guerrero 2000 & Vampiro Metálico
2) Aeroman, Alas de Acero, Kanon vs Diablo Jr. I, Flamarion, Vortice
3) Diva Salvaje, Freyser, Hijo del Pantera vs El Golpeador, El Hijo del Diablo, Xandao
4) Heddi Karaoui, Pantera II, Veneno vs Canis Lupus, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Negro Navarro
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Golden Magic, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. vs LA Park, Trauma I, Trauma II

Wagner & Park back in Naucalpan. Heddi Karaoui shouldn’t be back on this show unless he’s not in CMLL full time (or CMLL’s changed this policy too.) Xanado is Zumbi’s tall Brazilian friend. There’s a Flamarion who’s a regular in the Juarez/El Paso area, no idea if this is him. His match hsa the best chance of actually being good on this show.

CMLL (MON) 10/19/2015 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano, Centella Roja, Paris vs Ares, El Malayo, Fuerza Chicana
2) Flyer, Lestat, Star Jr. vs Espanto Jr., Inquisidor, Molotov
3) Ángel de Oro, Dragon Lee, Esfinge vs Kamaitachi, Nitro, Okumura
4) Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpión, Thunder
5) La Máscara, La Sombra, Marco Corleone vs Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible

Whoa, that’s not good. Opener could be fun – Centella Roja is a trainee of former Puebla standout Centella de Oro, I believe – but the rest of the show has some bad people in matches. Molotov is back, but he’s only getting booked in Puebla so far so it’s possible this is just a last couple of appearances unmasked. (Hoping so.) Dragon Lee & Kamaitachi will once again have about 60 seconds of good spots in a 14 minute match. Thunder exists. Main event seems to be headed to a Sombra/Shocker match.
