straight falls. Ingobernables were DQed for excessive violence on Atlantis in the first, Atlantis snuck in a foul in the second.

Stream was region locked for Mexico only (and not well; people from Monterrey were saying they couldn’t watch.)  No one, including the people running ClaroSports’ social media, seemed to know why. None of the matches I got to see (5th on) were very memorable and crowd energy seemed down to pre-LA Park levels. Ultimo Guerrero matches were intensely predictable.

Volador and Super Parka were happy with their two fall win. (Video of the interview.) Ultimo Guerrero was thrilled to beat his old rival Shocker and his old rival/friend Rey Bucanero en route to victory. UG immediately remembered Bucanero beat him for the Light Heavyweight title.  (Video of that.) Ultimo goes from winning his block to facing Pagano & Tony Cisneros in Oaxaca tomorrow.

San Diego Red has a partial report on last night’s show in The Crash. It was Rey Mysterio Jr.’s first match back in Tijuana after Hijo del Perro Aguayo’s death. Mysterio mentioned on Twitter that it was sold out, and it looks full in the video. Bestia 666 kept his title over Pentago Jr. in the semimain with a Spanish Fly thru a board.

Dr. Wagner & Silver King defeated Hijo de LA Park & Super Parka in Arena Aficion on Thursday. The Parkas replaced the Guerreros who were pulled after the Wagner fall out – so the guy in the tournament on last night’s show was replaced by the guy in the main event. That kind of makes my head spin, but also indicates Super Parka isn’t considered part of CMLL and can do what he wants (as long as it doesn’t involved a mic.)

Tomorrow is Heroes Inmortales. AAA’s sent out a Myzteziz interview about ending Rey Mysterio. He will probably not end Rey Mysterio tomorrow. They’re putting up a lot of promos for the PPV on YouTube elsewhere; there is a last few days push to get people to care about the show. Still not feeling it, but maybe after I watch the TV? I am ordering the show and will do some form of live coverage tomorrow. Show is scheduled to start at 6pm. It’s a conventional PPV, so that should be close to correct.

El Hijo del Santo continues to tease that he could retire at any time and any match could be his last in his column. He’s got a show Monday in Leon and a yet to be announced lineup in Puebla on the 17.

La Hiedra hopes to wrestler in Korakuen Hall someday. She’s trained with Sangre Chicana, Kendor Jr., Laredo Kid and now Villano IV.

Coco Rojo says he’s being falsely advertised for a show in Chilpancingo tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the debut show for RIOT wrestling in Monterrey.

A film on Arena Azteca Budokan is being shown at a film festival this weekend.

Heddi Karoui? Heddi Karoui is scheduled to work Monday in Leon for Hijo del Santo and has been a regular for them. CMLL policy is you can’t work for them and Santo. At least that’s what the policy was. IWRG’s also been building Karaoui up for matches that he won’t be able to do if he’s full time in CMLL. He might not be full time in CMLL. Karaoui’s not been interesting on indy shows for many years, he’s mostly wrestled as a rudo and there’s no obvious reason to bring him in. There’s many undercard guys who’d be better in that spot. Maybe everyone trying to get into CMLL should go do low level MMA.

Atlantis & Volador are the two favorites in this block, both making sense as an Ultimo Guerrero opponents. Negro Casas can’t be ruled out and Maximo should have a chance (though he also has a chance to lose in 5 minutes.)

Opener follows up on the Demus/Shockercito stuff, which seems like a natural for one of the Dia de Los Muertes shows.

We don’t know if this show will air on Claro. Maybe CMLL will mention on Informa? Maybe they won’t mention until Friday.

ZZInc (SAT) 11/07/2015 Auditorio Benito Juárez, Veracruz, Veracruz
1) Rey Mysterio Jr. vs El Patrón Alberto, Australian Suicide, Dr. Wagner Jr., Johnny Mundo, Low Ki, Hijo De Dos Caras, Blue Demon Jr., Psicosis I, Brodus Clay, El Mesías,Pentagón Jr., Fenix (AAA), Drago (AAA), Sanada, Steve Pain, Willie Mack

ZZInc (SAT) 11/21/2015 Plaza de Toros, Santa Maria, Querétaro, Querétaro
1) Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Johnny Mundo, El Patrón Alberto, Drew Galloway, Moose, MVP, Blue Demon Jr., Myzteziz, Angélico, El Mesías, Sexy Star

These are weird. ZZInc is a concert promoter apparently putting together a “Que Viva el Rey” tour with Rey Mysterio. These are good size venues, the type of places AAA might run for a major show – though they might bring in as many foreign names for each show unless they’re running a World Cup. (All this foreigners instantly become possibilities for the mystery people on the upcoming tapings, though it’s more likely they’re just being brought in for one show.) Thinking no matches announced because a band doesn’t announce which songs they’re going to play.

Dr. Wagner might have known he was working the 11/07 show when he left CMLL, but I kind of think they would’ve let him work both. (See: Super Parka.)

The Veracruz show is potentially the first time Rey Mysterio and Psicosis will be in the same ring in decades. That’s also one day after an AAA TV taping in Xalapa.

2 thoughts to “Ultimo Guerrero advances towards a third Universal championship, a Rey Mysterio tour announced”

  1. Rey and Psicosis wrestled at the start of the 2006 Royal Rumble! I don’t think it was anything special though. Also that was 9 years ago, almost a decade, and I feel really old.

  2. One of ZZInc owners is Alex Garcia, who happens to be a Lucha Underground executive producer (probably one of the investors Erick has mentioned several times), and also owns the studio that produced the AAA cartoon movie from a while ago…
