Averno gives Aero a push

Recapped: 08/16/2015

What happened that mattered? Cage challenged Alberto to a hair match and Alberto accepted. Hell Brothers are still feuding with Myzteziz. Holocuasto are still feuding with Psycho Circus. A month out, it’s arguable if the last two really mattered. They aired the tease of Myzteziz turning rudo from the press conference and mentioned Villano III’s retirement

Should I go back and watch anything? Maybe the opener, but I never saw it complete. The other matches are a long trios ending with a DQ and another silly Alberto/Cage match, both skippable

Where can I see it? This one’s now up on AAA’s YouTube channel, including the missing chunk of the opener.

Match 1: Monsther Clown & Murder Clown vs Electroshock & Hijo de Pirata Morgan and Australian Suicide & Jack Evans and Dark Cuervo & Dark Scoria
Gimnasio Miguel Hidalgo, Puebla, Puebla, 07/10/2015

Guero dives

Winner: Scoria & Cuervo
Match Time: 6:01 seen
Notes: video joined in progress due to recording issue. Referee is Tirantes, who played the match completely straight. Holocausto attack Psycho Circus after the match.

Review: [ok? Not rated?] The video picks up when the match was chaotic, though it’s very possible this kind of match was always chaos. They worked a lot of team versus team bits with the other teams just hanging outside to wait their term. The sections with Jack, Suicide and La Secta were better than the other sections (I’m not sure the clowns did anything but belt shots in this match), but they weren’t making as good a contact as usual. This is probably worth checking out in full, though it’s hard to go back a month after the fat

Scoria Driver

Roshfrans/TripleMania Press Conference: Villano IV talks about this being Villano III’s retirement, Myzteziz and Rey have words. The video turns to black and white any time Myzteziz talks; they somehow resist adding in hellflames.

Match 2: Aerostar, Argenis, Myzteziz vs Averno, Chessman, Cibernético

Cibernetico actually has moves?

Winner: tecnicos (DQ on Averno for pulling Myzteziz’s mask)
Match Time: 11:57 (6:25+5:32)
Notes: Hell Brothers attack the técnicos just before the whistle. Referee is Maya. Myzteziz had Chessman beat with La Mistica when Averno pulled off his mask for the DQ. Hell Brothers destroy Myzteziz.

triple tope

Review: [ok] went smoother than you’d expect given Cibernético & Argenis involved, though it did feel slower than it went. Aerostar has stopped doing headscissors, which is a little odd. This was more of the weird build to Averno/Myzteziz for the alternate universe TripleMania, ending with a really a heavy angle setting up a match that didn’t happen on the next show. The main event guy turning rudo ends up being destroyed by other rudos. Match was fine, but what a mess of story telling.

tough to see who you’re hitting on this dive

Match 3: El Patrón Alberto vs Brian Cage vs El Mesías in a bull terrier match
Gimnasio Miguel Hidalgo, Puebla, Puebla, 07/10/2015
Video:

Winner: Brian Cage (touch all four)
Match Time: 10:33
Notes: Referee is Hijo del Tirantes. This is touch all four corners rules. There’s no explanation of why Mesías is in this match, but they turn on each other when Mesías decides to actually win the match instead of beating Alberto endlessly. Tirantes pulls Alberto down when he’s about to win, Cage puts Alberto thru the wood panel, and touches all four corners easily for the win. Mesías vanishes. Cage buries Alberto under the flag once again, says he doesn’t care about the title, but wants a hair vs hair match for TripleMania. Konnan walks out to repeat most of the promo in Spanish. Alberto accepts, which was a bigger deal live than it is one day before the match is happening.

Show ends with one more Cage/Alberto video package.

buried under the dry wall flag

Review: [OK] This was more angle than match, but the angle sometimes made sense. Cage being more concerned with destroying Alberto than winning fits, though it’s strange Cage didn’t let Mesías in on that plan before the match. I have no idea why Mesías was in this match. Unsure why Alberto would ever agree to such a ludicrous match, but luckily the rudos screwed up like just about every time and it worked out fine for him. Rudos deciding the chains, chairs and numeric advantage they had just weren’t enough to beat Alberto was amusing. Alberto apparently hasn’t ever been in or watched one of these matches closely, because he was touching the ringpost instead of the turnbuckle pad, and did not go in order another time.
