Air Date: this is well in the future, so I’ll put down “10/31” but it could shift a week either direction. Likely a one week taping.

Someone messed up; this is a post Heroes Inmortales lineup no one was supposed to see for three weeks more, at least. (@JtSol13so was the first person I saw who had it on Twitter.) There are no storyline giveaways – because there are very few storylines to give away right now – there’s are new names coming out.

The Speedball in the segunda is surely “Speedball” Mike Bailey, rising Canadian indy star of the moment. He’s a high flyer/kicker with a background in taekwondo who’s gotten over in PWG as an undersized fighter. He’s working a lot of well known indies, but it’s in PWG where he had a great match agaisnt Chris Hero which might be the reason he made it here. Konnan raved about that particular match on his own podcast and on the Wrestling Observer one. He’s teaming with Aerostar & Suicide against the maybeAnarakia trio in what should be a great match.

(Note AAA now has a Speedball and a Fireball. One short of a ball trio. Speedball has a masked alterego which might work better here, but not sure AAA would’ve seen that or if he’d just prefer to be unmasked.)

We don’t know who’s in the semifinals. That spot on the card suggest these are people of significance. AAA usually debuts new people and then lists them as surprises for the next couple of tapings, so we may know who these people are by the time Heroes Inmortales takes place (or even by the time the card is announced.) It stands to reason that if the Bailey/Hero match got one guy a spot, it might have gotten the other one a spot as well.

The blue names in the opener are local Reynosa guys to fill out the card. Karateka is from Matamoros, the other three show up in Reynosa. Perfil and Unico Jr. are two different people, so they’re missing a name on the tecnico side. It’s the dark match/maybe interent only match if they’re still doing those.

Edit 3:40pm: There’s a new poster floating around with different names for the opener

  • Mr. 450 is an ex Chicago indy guy who’s been in Puerto Rico (and is currently WWC’s world champ heading into a match with Carlito.) He’s also recently appeared on NXT as a jobber recently. It’s odd AAA would fly him in just to work openers – they have luchadors in Reynosa who could do that – but maybe he’s coming to Mexico on his own or for other reasons and he just picked up more work: he’s also listed on as working in Hidalgo the night prior
  • there’s a Magnifico in Reynosa, not to be confused with the 300 other Magnificos
  • Imagen II has been around Reynosa since at least the turn of the century, appeared on TV tapings back around then. Imagen de Oro often teams with him.

Myzteziz & Rey are still going to be rivals, which means Johnny Mundo may mostly fight Psycho Clown. That’ll be an amazing thing. It’s kind of strange Johnny Mundo ends up working TV tapngs and not TripleMania. I fully support the idea of La Parka replacing Psycho Clown in the circus, those three guys belong together.

AAA uses the just about the same roster when they run two tapings in a short period of time, so this group of people will probably be in slightly different matches in Nuevo Laredo two days later.
