Recapped: 08/06/2015. Just another show in the quiet TripleMania build.

Previously: Mesías & Cibernético won a triangle match, Averno and Myzteziz had a match (outcome not mentioned). Today, rivals team up, and other matches happen.

Villanos video, including footage form their previous AAA run. Villanos talk about the great trios they’ve faced – of course the Brazos are the big ones, so they can talk about their masks match.

AAA pilgrimage map is shown a few times on the show.

Abismo frog splash

Winner: técnicos (Niño Hamburguesa splash on Mini Abismo & Carta Brava)
Match Time: 7:40
Notes: Carta Brava has some metallic finger claws now, though only for his entrance. Tirantes is referee.

Review: [ok] on the low side of the OK scale, with not much to offer but nothing going too long and it getting done with quick. Carta Brava and the minis have looked better in other matches. There were moments in this match where Goya looked slow, but she’s generally doing the same gimmick better than Niño Hamburguesa. Seeing them both in the same match is not good news for him, unless they’re bringing back the mixed tag tag titles. Taya did a some knee strikes which looked like they had no impact, or not the impact she was trying to set up. (On the other hand, this match wasn’t crushed faces away from being good.) There was a ton of time killed with post match celebration and replays for a pointless match, which feels like it could’ve been used for going over the TripleMania card at least once.

Match 2: Angélico & Jack Evans vs Hijo del Fantasma & Joe Lider

super backcracker

Winner: rudos (Fantasma & Lider pin Angelico)
Match Time: 12:45 (5:16+7:29)
Notes: Referee is Maya. Match is randomly announced as being no disqualification, but at least it allows the inevitable Lider spots. It could’ve just been partly because of the picture, but Lider appeared to have a wound and terrible bruise on one of his legs and looked slow. Angelico bleeds from his right arm after being stapled by Lider. Angelico & Jack are about to win the math when Cuervo & Scoria walk down to break it up, but walk way too slow and aren’t actually there to break up the pin. (Lider kicks out of the crucifix powerbomb.) There’s no DQ, so the rudos beat up Angelico. Jack runs to the back for some reason and Fantasma and Lider just stay out of it. Angelico takes a two man spear thru a wood panel, then Lider and fantasma cover Angelico for the win.

The match is interrupted by a break, and more hype for Villanos/Psycho Clowns. The younger brothers are emotional about teaming with Villano III one last time. Villano III talks a little bit about his career. After the match, the Psycho Circus are respectful to the Villanos but believe they can beat them, and the Villanos are sure their experience is the difference.

assisted 450 splash

Review: [ok] not so great. They worked a Joe Lider match for the majority of the time, and seeing moves onto chairs a dozen times doesn’t work. Jack & Angelico tried their tag spots, but the crowd didn’t get it. Fantasma seemed to be there in body but not mind, just going thru the motions. Jack disappearing running away the finish was bizarre. Finish was build for a feud that seems to be over for the moment.

Jack broken in half

Match 3: Brian Cage & El Patrón Alberto vs Blue Demon Jr. & Villano IV in a relevos incrieble match
Expotampico, Tampico, Tamaulipas, 07/03/2015
Video:

Winner: Blue Demon & Villano IV (IV pinned Alberto)
Match Time: 10:04
Notes: As usual, no one’s happy with their partner and they try to fix the teams but the referee (Piero) says no. Villano IV forces Demon to face Cage, then avoids tagging back in to allow Cage to destroy him for a while. Cage slaps Alberto to get involved, but he and Cage shove instead instead of facing demon. Villano gets involved, and it ends up with both técnicos fighting both rudos. (Demon’s instantly fine.) Cage can’t get V4 and himself over the top on a clothesline in a rough spot. Tecnicos take out the rudos with a dive, Demon brings Cage back in, gives him a stunner, covers for the win – and Alberto breaks it up? Because he suddenly cares about winning the match? Cage and Alberto almost fight before Villano IV breaks it up. Alberto gives V4 a backcracker, but cage attack shim before he can do the armbar. Alberto takes out Cage with the headkick, then puts the armbar on V4. Cage breaks it up with a plank of wood (??) in this apparent no DQ match. Cage breaks a board on Alberto’s head, and a crowd shot covers up something. V4 covers Alberto for the win, and Cage puts the American glaf on Alberto again.

Myzteziz & Rey Misterio promos are shown to close the our.

Review: [ok] maybe another generous grade? There were parts of this match where just bad (Demon) or didn’t make any sense (why did Alberto care to save Cage from being pinned?) V4’s antics were amusing early on, but there was a lot of nonsense. Cage sold a lot for Demon. Villano IV pinning Alberto, even with it being all Cage’s doing, is strange. Crowd was less into this than you’d think, and didn’t care about Demon despite the sympathy they built up.
