1) El Rebelde & Metálico b Robin & Sensei
Rudos took 1/3, Metalico sneaking in a foul on Rebelde.
2) Shockercito, Stukita, Último Dragoncito b Demus 3:16, Mercurio, Pequeño Violencia PRIMERA LUCHA CMLL 21 DE AGOSTO 2015 (1) (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Tecnicos took 1/3, Shockercito defeating Demus.
3) Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado b Fuego, Rey Cometa, Titán SEGUNDA LUCHA CMLL 21 DE AGOSTO 2015 (2) (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Rudos took falls 1/3
4) Boby Zavala b Guerrero Maya Jr. [En Busca de un Idolo] Final del Torneo
Zavala won with his Indian Deathlock bridging cradle in a disappointing match. Zavala hurt his shoulder on a tope about midway thru the match and was not himself the rest of the way. Zavala was pinned for the finish, and Maya vehemently argued the result. Zavala had a good promo celebrating his win. LA Park appeared after they had left, challenging Rush to a mask versus hair match, and challenging Dr. Wagner, Ultimo Guerrero, La Sombra and Atlantis in general.
5) Dragon Lee, Mistico, Volador Jr. b Cavernario, Felino, Último Guerrero TERCERA LUCHA CMLL 21 DE AGOSTO 2015 (3) (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Ultimo Guerrero replaced Negro Casas (injury). Volador & Mistico won, tecnicos taking falls 2/3. Ultimo Guerrero sent Dragon Lee over the railing and followed with his leaping hipcheck attack, but got jumped by Thunder. Thunder destroyed UG, asked the crowd if they wanted Thunder/UG for the Anniversary show, and then declared he did not want it.
6) La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush b Atlantis, Máximo, Valiente CUARTA LUCHA CMLL 21 DE AGOSTO 2015 (4) (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Ingobernables won in straight falls. Atlantis pulled of Sombra’s mask for the DQ in the first fall, Sombra snuck in a foul on Atlantis in the second fall. They feuded heavily, and Sombra took Atlantis’ mask after the match while promising to do the same at the Anniversary show.

The main was a pretty good angle to ramp up the intensity going into the match.

The show started with a vignette of Ultimo Guerrero preparing for last year’s Anniversary match. Thunder may have a definite opinion, but CMLL running angles building up his match with Ultimo Guerrero means it’s a good chance that’ll be the second apuesta match on the Anniversary show.

The En Busca de un Idolo had some promise but was ultimately disappointing. Zavala didn’t hit Maya flush with the tope; I really wasn’t sure if it was an intended miss that didn’t quite miss or Zavala trying to do a different style tope (maybe Maximo style?) and not pulling it off. Zavala did not do much after the dive, and had one really bad moment where he was supposed to flip to the apron, could not do it, and just stopped and walked thru the ropes. Zavala usually bridges keep his shoulders off the mat on that cradle, and maybe he couldn’t pull it off because of the injury. Maya flipped out after the finish and the crowd was behind him thinking he’d gotten screwed either by the finish or by looking like the better guy in the match. (Maya hasn’t reappeared on Twitter since the loss, which suggests at least some of that anger wasn’t staged.) Zavala always seemed like a guy who would eventually make it to the top, but this tournament helps him that way. CMLL and/or NJPW’s desire to always change up the undercard talent on the FantasticaMania shows means Maya may still make it to Japan someday, but it’s less certain when.

Shockercito beating Demus clean felt like it was the end of that issue for the time being.

Fenix is thrilled to be teaming with Rey Mysterio, would not follow Myzteziz to the rudo side.

Ray Rowe & Violento Jack vs Mascada & Aero Boy vs Ciclope & Pagano has been added to the September 6 ChilangaMask in Coliseo Coacalco.  Rowe challenged Masada and/or Rush when he appeared here in July, so he got one of those. I don’t quite understand why normal tag team parnters Violento Jack & Aeroboy are not on the same time, but I’m guessing they wanted Rowe/Masada/Pagano to all fight each other.
