The AAA US Twitter continues to be active after TripleMania, so presumably they’re going with the idea there’s going to be another PPV to promote so far. AAA Mexico has been extremely quiet after TripleMania, really only posting the results on their website and otherwise saying nothing. There’s probably some regrouping going on; the SuperLuchas column calling the show “The Disaster called TripleMania XXIII” sums up the general feelings. Saying nothing at least gives no more fuel to the fire. Thinking optimistically, maybe the reaction will prompt a big enough overhaul to avoid this happening again; Heroes Inmortales will be better because it can pretty much only be better, but there are surely people in AAA who saw the iceberg coming well before Sunday night and maybe they’ll be given more power to make changes. Or maybe it’ll just keep on going this way.
The official results do not mention Myzteziz wearing the Perros del Mal shirt (which could’ve just been something not planned) and avoid the issue of him joining or not joining La Sociedad entirely. In the building, we got both Myzteziz turning down Konnan and not joining the group, and Myzteziz joining the group a few minutes later. It was like when movies test out different endings to their movie in front of audiences, only this wasn’t a test. I guess we get to find out which was supposed to be the “deleted ending only on the DVD!” when the show airs on TV.
Gonzalo Lopez has photos of the events; they stuck most of the media in a box far away from the ring to keep them from blocking the fan’s view (but large tables leaning against the side of the cage were ok.)
There’s a mid September AAA TV taping in Gimnasio de la Barrera. It may be announced at any time; they’ve probably been keeping it quiet to not hurt TripleMania sales. There has to be another TV taping by the weekend of August 29th, but nothing’s been announced.
Rey Mysterio says he’s fine after TripleMania and will balance accounts with everyone who attacked him. He’ll have something to say to Myzteziz after a while.
Cibernetico says he wants to go after the Mega championship next, hopes to get his rematch with Perro Aguayo Jr. in the afterlife.
A Santo sculpture was stolen in Mexico City. If you look at the picture, it’s so tempting to take that I’m not surprised someone walked off with it.
Blue Demon Jr. says he’s working with an author about two books covering his life. He also says his Anniversary match at TripleMania wasn’t to celebrate him, but for the fans. I don’t recall asking for that.
SuperLuchas had interviews with Mamba and Daga prior to TripleMania. Daga mentions he had a tryout with WWE a few years ago.
The AAA shows in Colombia were expected to draw 20,000. There’s photos from the Friday night shows, where the building looks about 75% full. I believe there were free shows paid for by the government. Hijo del Fantasma says lucha libre in Mexico is strong. Aerostar dove off a high place because of course. That entire match is here.
LA Park & Hijo de LA Park beat Sombra & Rush in Tijuana. Even though CMLL as a promotion seems not to like LA Park, the luchadors themselves seem to like him enough to be willing to lose to him (even by foul) quite often.
Ursus took Dance Boy’s mask in Queretaro. Dance Boy is Eduardo Cazares Trejo, from Queretaro, 25 years old, 14 years a luchador. That means he started at 11. Dance Boy isn’t quite young enough to be in Super Crazy’s LLJL kid’s group, but maybe he was running around Arena Queretaro as kid. He’s definitely in results going back to 2005.
Segunda Caida reviews Lucha Underground 35 & 36 (though they got the wrong episode title, Ultimo Guerrero & Rey Escorpion, and Maximo & Volador vs Rey Bucanero & Terrible.

SuperLuchas looks back at six apuesta matches on August 6, 1972 (including young Dos Caras), AAA shows on August 7, 1992, Flama Azul & Canek winning a tag team tournament on August 8, 1982, Alfonso Dantes unfairly losing his hair while outdueling Satanico on August 9th, 1985, a lightweight title match main eventing an EMLL show in 1975 and Santo winning a hair in 1968. The one thing I notice in aggregate on these is Manuel Robles, who seemed to top out at upper midcarder, had a lot more interesting career than guys at the same level. He lost his hair quite a fair bit, but he had feuds and victories along side that, and seems like had many more big matches on his resume.

He didn’t have a heart attack during the match. He was at the post-show press conference as well.
I was gonna say. I watched the show and saw no sign of that. Maybe it was a reference to his health issues in the past? Confused the heck out of me.
