Mephisto moves Mistico so he stands no chance of actually being hirt

Another droll Tuesday.

Recapped: 06/30/15

Arena México, 06/23/2015

Pequeno NItro broken
  1. técnicos
    • Aereo trianguler del solar Pequeño Nitro (6:12)
    • Acero middle rope elbow drop Pequeño Violencia (6:46)
  2. técnicos
    • Pequeño Violencia foul Aereo (2:31)

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:07

Review: [below average] There was a time when mini opners on Tuesdays were better than normal openers. That time is past, or at least only still around when Stukita and Angelito are around. These matches are interesting from an informative purposes (finding out which minis are currently lowly ranked as to be forced to work Tuesday openers) but not interesting in almost any other way. Aereo’s submission finish is not easy for Aereo to actually do. Aereo getting around the dive ban was the highlight of this match by far. Pequeño Violencia’s really half hearted foul was the most representative moment of this match

Match 2: Hombre Bala Jr., Magnus, Súper Halcón Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Metálico, Nitro

a nice springbaord inverted tope

    • Super Halcón Jr. fireman’s carry side slam Nitro (8:06)

    • Nitro cradle suplex Magnus (6:11)
    • Arkangel wristlock Metálico (6:37)

Match Time: 19:35

Metalico’s swinging choke

Review: [ok] a match with some bright spots but a lot of rudos taking control over a longer than usual period of time. Arkangel and Nitro seem slow and very low energy, which isn’t a great match to these wacky técnicos who want to do every spot. Metlaico works better, but it feels the ceiling is low for every Tuareg match. Maybe the veterans are keeping the match in ways I’m not picking up on, but it’d be interesting to see what they could do against a younger crew. These rudos have really been in the same role for over a decade now.

Magnus uppercut!
Metalico spinning DDT

Match 3: Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Valiente vs Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado
Arena México, 06/23/2015

not Sagrado’s best plan
  1. técnicos
    • Delta bodyscissors cradle Sagrado (4:26)
    • Guerrero Maya springboard inverted tope Misterioso (4:39)
  2. técnicos
    • DQ Pierroth [foul on Valiente] (3:56)

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:35
Notes: there was no build to Pierroth fouling Valiente, but the Boricuas did stomp Valiente some after the match.

Review: [ok] if you have to watch one shorter than usual Boricuas vs Guerrero Maya/Delta/? Partner match from this week, because nothing here was entertaining as Sagardo mocking Stigma’s height, and this one had a lame DQ finish. Misterioso’ ability to lose falls he should’ve won is apparently contagious, because Sagrado is doing it too. Thankful for Guerrero Maya doing a tope and giving me something to GIF from this match.

baby did not like this match

Stellar Moment

El Castigo: Hombre Bala Jr headstand corner knee smash Akuma

El Rudo: Akuma Canadian Destroyer on Super Halcón Jr.

Lo Doloroso: Marcela dropkick to Tiffany

El Triunfo: Stuka Jr. torpedo splash on Okumura

El Tecnico: Angel de Oro moonsault over the top on Okumura

Match 4: Atlantis, Dragon Lee, La Máscara vs Felino, Terrible, Vangellys
Arena México, 06/23/2015

sure, why not
  1. rudos
    • Felino reverse figure four Atlantis (3:49)
  2. técnicos
    • La Mascara campana felino (3:04)
    • Dragon Lee hanging double stomp Vangellys (3:22)
  3. rudos
    • Atlantis huracanrana Terrible (4:04)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:15
Notes: Felino wrestles a good portion of the match in his mask, for no particular reason.

Review: [ok] slow speed low intensity semimain on a Tuesday show. The rudos weren’t interesting in doing much, and the técnicos were happy to go along. La Mascara occasionally remembers to be an Ingobernable, stealing a pin from Dragon lee but then being friends with him later. This was a sane Dragon Lee performance, by which I mean he limited it to one crazy diving headscissors off the apron and zero flips onto his head.

Dragon Lee wipes out Vangellys

Match 5: Ángel de Oro, Mistico, Volador Jr. vs Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto
Arena México, 06/23/2015

Luciferno not contributing a lot
  1. Hijos del Infierno
    • Luciferno senton Místico (3:46)
  2. técnicos
    • Volador Jr. tope rope huracanrana Ephesto (3:17)
    • Angel de Oro mercedora Luciferno (3:21)
  3. técnicos
    • La Mistica on Mephisto (6:53)

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 14:00

I hope they secretly pad that part of the ramp

Review: [ok] A half hearted attempt at doing a big match for a main event, though done in the same exact way as every Infernals big match, with all the same near falls in all the same order. Would the Sky Team be better with Angel de Oro instead of Valiente? No, no it would not. This match doesn’t quite prove the point, since it’s mailed in a way most Sky Team matches are not, but Angel de Oro doesn’t really make a case for a bigger role. (The bit with him and Místico setting each other up for their usual moves was nice, though.) Also not making good cases: the disinterested Hijos del Infierno, who are present but don’t account for much. Místico was trying, and not just doing the same exact sequence of moves as always, so that was nice. The triple moonsault spot would’ve looked great if they could’ve timed it a little bit better. The everyone takes turn doing a finish bit is getting way over done, showing up no less than once an hour. The lack of singles feuds being set up plays into that, they’re all just interchangable matchups and so they do the interchangeable spots.

moonsaults everywhere
