spinning satellite armbar

Review: [ok] A solid match that’ll look better in GIF than complete. It kind of dragged at time, and Molotov remains super generic, but the high points were good high points. Militia did some good spots together, Bengala’s submission looked good, and Super Comando stooged around a bit. It could’ve used that spark from a younger guy in Molotov’s place, or maybe just a little less time to pick up the pace, but it was better than the usual opener.

tornado choke

Review: [ok] Average segunda. Metalico must be a nice person because everyone always wants to shake hands with him even though it always backfires. Metálico actually seems like he’s one-third of a fun segunda trio act, but I have no idea who the other two people are. Not Nitro for sure. Not Sangre Azteca, who used to be more fun. Metálico and Magnus played off each other well here, and the other four guys were also around.

pretty sure Batman does this in Arkham Night

Stellar Moments

El Triunfo: Dark Angel reinera on Amapola

Lo Alevoso: Rey Escorpion & Pólvora corner dropkick on Ultimo Guerrero

El Lance: Ultimo Guerrero ramp dive hipblock on Rey Escorpion

El Tope: Valiente tope into Terrible

El Rudo: Shocker STF on Valiente – I guess it’s rudo for not letting go in a timely manner.

Kraneo celebrates a shouldebrlock

Review: [great] Completely fun trios match that was notches above usual fare on these shows. The técnicos were good and the rudos were awesome. Puma looks great against Blue Panther early on the mat and appeared to be the doing most of his work. He and Tiger are just locked in with their normal team work, with the multiple cracker/powerbomb finish in the second fall loking as good as they’ve had it. Kraneo may be the best used guy in the promotion. He dances in, he does some comedy if he needs it, he wrecks people if needed, and he almost gets pinned while dancing. He can do it all. Valiente’s tope was strong and his ability to give Kraneo a quebradora was impressive, and The Panther makes a good rag doll and occasional victor. This was totally entertaining.

Match 4: Dragon Lee, Mistico, Titán vs Kamaitachi, Pólvora, Ripper

Dragon Dragon Lee
  1. técnicos
    • Místico huracanrana Pólvora (4:11)
    • Titan double kneebar Ripper (4:12)
  2. técnicos
    • DQ Kamiatachi [pulled Dragon Lee’s mask] (5:42)

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:54
Notes: Dragon Lee and Kamiatachi feuded all match leading to the mask pull. A long series of post match promos, everyone getting to talk, set up a rematch for next week.

Kamaitachi outnumbered

Review: [good] another fun match to close out the show. Kamaitachi is a great performer, adept at the moves and at taunting Dragon Lee after the match. Dragon Lee dropkicking him out of the air looked impressive (and completely Ripper & Polvora’s fault for not paying attention.) Místico was steady in this match and Titan was his usual self, with the rudos contributing well. This didn’t break new ground but was good at what it did and took advantage of having these guys being in the main event. It wasn’t simply a (welcome) break from the usual teams, but something that felt like a main event match because of the work.

ramp dropkick countered!
