Winner: Guerreros (2-1)
Match Time: 9:23
Rating: ok
Notes: Revolucionarios use chains on the Guerreros at the start of the match, which seems vaguely illegal. Referee only tries to get the chains away. With the referee looking outside the ring after a dive sequence, Ultimo shoved Rey Escorpion into the ropes, then kicked the middle one to foul him for the illegal win.

Escorpion almost launches into space

Review: [ok] Borderline match; it was definitely the better match to end with an Ultimo Guerrero foul of the week, but was missing something to take it higher. Revolucionarios came out more aggressive, making the Guerreros the técnicos, but UG still cheated to win at the end. The Revolucinarios dominated parts were better, the Guerreros just come across as strong in their role. Can’t believe the combination of Dragon Rojo and Gran Guerrero were trying that diving off the ramp headscissors, but it went better than it has in other matches.

barricade remains Titan’s biggest rival

Review: [great] exciting non stop action match. It wasn’t more dives than the Reyes del Aire, but it was a lot better match for sure. Some feuds followed up on, some drama near the end, and a ton of fun moments. The only arguments against this match is it could’ve gotten more time (some guys were barely in it and there’s a triple dive in the show ending package that we didn’t get to see) and there were some weird choices with the eliminations. Luiciferno making it as far as he did was almost redeemed by the hilarity of Titan putting himself into the Hooligan Crash, but not quite. This one also had the (now usual) problems with pinfall breaks up in an elimination match, but at least many of them could be defended: Místico & Dragon Lee saving each other, Volador’s rivals breaking up his actions. It didn’t annoy me as much as usual, but it could’ve been better. Místico looked like a limited guy to have this much time in a big match. He stuck with his regular offense a bit much to start, even passing up a logical point for a dive to instead force in his headscissors to the floor, but mixing up with Kamaitachi and others caused him to expand his usual style. Kamaitachi continues to look like one of the best guys. Virus was really good as well, and the crowd rallied against him (though more against Místico.) Not sure why the edited out a triple dive and left Titan crashing and burning to the floor.

even Volador can’t stop the Virus corner post armdrag

The production wasn’t all bad: they’ve done a better job of making ciberneticos easier to follow with graphics of late. There were also smaller amusing bits, like Cavernario kicking Fuego as he tried to roll out after he was eliminated, and Niebla Roja sticking around after he was done to get a cheap shot on Dragon Lee. Dragon Lee insisting on being legally tagged with three left but doing it from the wrong corner was funny too. The crowd got into Virus defying the odds and winning this match – his late career rise in this promotion over the last half decade is kind of amazing – but it’s clear the promotion thought they were setting up a partnership between Místico & Dragon Lee. Not sure if the Místico gimmick will get Dragon Lee over if it can’t get Místico over, but points for effort.

super Furia Roja
and super Devil’s Wings
