over the barricade rule

Match 1: Volador Jr. vs Mephisto
Arena México, 05/08/2015

  1. Mephisto Devil’s Wings (1:49)
  2. Volador Jr. backcracker (2:50)
  3. Volador top rope huracanrana (9:27)

Winner: Volador (2-1)
Match Time: 14:06
Rating: great
Notes: Volador challenged Mephisto to a hair versus mask match after his win. Mephisto gave credit to Volador for winning, but didn’t really answer the challenge.

Volador’s going to go right thru the barricade one day

review: [great] a total one man show. Mephisto either mailed it in or (worse) tried and ended up still only with a very generic outing out of 2000. Volador made it work, flying all around and taking looking spectacular doing it. The double top spot was the best of a lot of great spots. Mephisto’s effort (or lack thereof) actually helped in it getting them away from just trading move for move, since Volador had a lot of more moves to get in. This did seem like as good as the match was going to get with Mephisto in it, and there’s no strong desire to see a rematch, even for the masks.

super Devil’s Wings

Match 2: Atlantis, Místico ©, Rush vs Kamaitachi, Negro Casas, Thunder ©
Arena México, 05/08/2015

Mistico scared of the clothesline, flips ahead of time
  1. rudos
    • Negro Casas scorpion Atlantis (4:14)
    • Thunder cradle suplex (4:39)
  2. técnicos
    • Rush corner dropkick Thunder (3:16)
  3. tecnicos
    • Místico casita Kamaitachi (3:42)
    • Atlantis unplanned spinning slam Negro Casas (3:46)

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:41
Rating: ok
Notes: Kamaitachi is a last minute sub, though not so last minute that they couldn’t still mention him in the open. Finish was more of a disaster live, with Místico failing at the casita originally. It was edited to look smooth on here, but they couldn’t do anything with Atlantis failing to get Negro Casas up for the Atlanitda.

Highlight pack includes clips of the unaired Revolucionarois/Guerreors match.

review: [ok] Built around the Thunder/Rush stuff, which was not particularly compelling. There were hints of using Rush as Mistico’s protective older brother, which would have some good mileage in an alternate universe where they were both beloved técnicos. They didn’t really go anywhere with it, or had Místico do much at all. Kamaitachi mostly worked with him, but maybe they didn’t rust him enough to take la Mistica right (not that alternate finisher worked any better.) Less then enjoyable when they spend nearly four minutes on intros and then go to break 40 seconds into the match. The quick zooms in and outs on action was really annoying as well.
