Diamante Azul returns, CMLL luchadors pulls from AULL anniversary (but part of All Elite)

CMLL (MON) 06/08/2015 Arena Puebla [Periodico Enfoque]
1) Demus 3:16, Mini Joker, Saurón b Astro, Fantasy, Shockercito
Mini Joker won in his debut. Demus beat Shockercito.
2) Asturiano, Magnus, Rey Samuray b Disturbio, Fuerza Chicana, Policeman
Recap notes Magnus applied a tremendous “finality” on Disturbio for the win.
3) Fuego, Titán, Tritón b Cancerbero, King Jaguar, Raziel
4) Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero b Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Máximo
UG used the ropes to beat Altantis.
5) Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Escorpión b Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr.
Revolucionarios won, challenged for a title match next week.

Finality is a great word I will use more often.

CMLL posted changes to it’s lineups for this week on it’s website, and there’s an additional few hidden in the lineup post on Terra. The big news is the return of Diamante Azul, who hasn’t been seen in CMLL since November. I was told he went to Europe to spend time with his family there – CMLL’s cover story was he was wrestling there, but there’s no sign of that. There was a report Azul didn’t even tell CMLL he was leaving. He’s back now and immediately in the main event on Friday night. Azul, Volador and Valiente are the new main event opposition for the Ingobernables, with the Hijos del Infierno now being given night off. It’s a rare instance of the Ingobernables actually fighting tecnicos, something that’s seemed obvious but CMLL has avoided.

There’s smaller changes: Brazo de Plata replaces Fuego on Friday, Aereo is now listed in Acero’s place on Saturday, and Naito & Negro Casas replace La Mascara & Barbaro Cavernario on Sunday. Cavernario is currently only scheduled in Guadalajara today this week. Molotov vs Metalico and Soberano vs Hijo de Signo matches have also been added to Saturday, and a note on Facebook mentions the women’s cibernetico is meant to be a #1 contenders match for Marcela’s title.  Finally doing the Dark Angel title match on the non-televised show would be the ultimate troll move (but might actually draw.)

That’s not the end of the adjustments – Atlantis, Ultimo Guerrero and Rayo de Jalisco are off the AULL Anniversary show. All had been advertised for quite some time, and AULL is saying this was out of their control. CMLL pulled Atlantis from the ChilangaMask show because they wanted All Elite to have the first Octagon/Atlantis team, and that might be part of the reason here. Pagano replaced Ultimo Guerrero in the main event, which is quite the quality change. Arena Lopez Mateos has had previous recent issues with booking CMLL luchadors, with CMLL taking the rare (for them) of responding by saying AULL didn’t go thru the right procedure. It wouldn’t make sense for all that to happen to again, but maybe it did.

(CMLL hands out the bookings for the week on Mondays, that’s why all these things come out Monday night.)

Today’s CMLL show was not changed much – which is odd, because it still seems they’re short a match. At any rate, the announced main event is a trio of Jalisco luchadors – Dragon Lee, Mistico and Titan – taking on Ripper, Polovora & Kamitachi, in what might be a really fun match. Tonight’s En Busca de un Idolo matches are Esfinge vs Flyer in a battle of young aerial tecnicos and Blue Panther Jr. versus Disturbio, where Disturbio figure to both lose and look better than the bigger luchador. Panther has some glowing shoulder pads now, tho’. If Terra starts the feed at the start of the show (7:30pm), it’s worth tuning into see Super Comando & Artillero versus Bengala & Molotov.

Carlito was announced for the 07/05 Arena Coliseo Monterrey show. It’s not a coincidence big names are being both announced and teased for an indy show next month during the week prior to Verano de Escandalo.

CHIKARA’s snakeman (mansnake?) Ophidan will appear on the July 19th Coacalco show.

RobViper has highlights of 02/10/15 CMLL.

LuchaWorld hais this week’s PosterMania and KrisZ’s news update.

Steel Chair Magazine previews the Lucha Libre London (AAA) shows next month, while Lucha Temple previews the Lucha Toronto show on July 12.

+LuchaTV has highlights of Rey Misterio II, Hijo de Rey Misterio, Misterioso Jr. vs the Traumas and Blood Eagle from Tijuana.

Segunda Caida reviews early 2015 CMLL.

Voices of Wrestling has a new Lucha of the Hidden Temple and a Suicida Slate.

Tania la Guerrera was honored.

SuperLuchas looks back at a show with a middleweight title defense and angry Koreans.

Lineups

IWRG (SUN) 06/14/2015 Arena Naucalpan
1) Kanon & Mr. Leo vs Araña de Plata Jr. & Picudo Jr.
2) Dragón Celestial & Vaquero Jr. vs Black Sugar & Electro Boy
3) Apolo Estrada Jr., Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo © vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro [EdM Trios]
Gringos VIP 8th defense. They’ve been champions since September 2013.
4) Danny Casas, Diva Salvaje, X-Fly vs Eterno, Hip Hop Man, Universo 2000 Jr.
5) Masamune, Pantera, Veneno vs Heddi Karaoui, Pirata Morgan, Silver King

Masamune is not coming back simply for the DTU bookings – he turns up in IWRG here as well for something of an interenational card (Heddi Karoui from France, Hip Hop Man from Argentina, X-Fly from parts unknown.) Thinking the third match is a title change, since they’ve stopped using the Gringos as much.

CMLL (MON) 06/15/2015 Arena Puebla
1) Astral, Astro, Principe Diamante vs Ares, Demus 3:16, Mini Joker
2) Lestat, Pegasso, Starman vs Disturbio, King Jaguar, Policeman
3) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Stigma vs Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado
4) La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero
5) Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. © vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Escorpión [CMLL TRIOS]
Sky Team’s second defense

Debut for Principe Diamante, who’s been spotted on the All Elite shows. He’s gotten to work with the first/second match guys on those, which is a better spot for his career than being put with the minis.

The local vets from the last few shows are gone here. Maybe the trios title match is all Puebla gets of an Anniversary show this year?

ALL ELITE (SUN) 06/28/2015 Arena México
1) Emperador Azteca & Imposible vs Blue Panther Jr. & The Panther
2) Rayman & Sagrado vs Ángel de Oro & Golden Magic
3) ? & Zumbi vs Hechicero & Super Crazy
4) Heddi Karaoui & Hernandez vs La Máscara & Marco Corleone
5) Atlantis & Octagón vs Fuerza Guerrera & Último Guerrero
6) ? & Volador Jr. vs ?? & Rush

Full card for this show, which was pushed back two weeks from the original date. The silhouette next to Volador Jr. looks like Dr. Wagner. Not sure what this means for Claro Sports, since they avoided showing any of the indy guys last time All Elite took over the show.
