recap

taped 2015-04-14 @ Arena Coliseo Guadalajara

swiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing

Goya Kong, Marcela, Silueta vs La Comandante, La Seductora, Tiffany: [ok] if you want to watch one ** CMLL women’s trios match this week, you’re very strange. And I guess I’d say pick the C3 one over this one, because it’s slightly better. Crowd seemed like they might have been more into in Guadalajara, but the crowd is turned down so much on this show it’s tough to tell and the action was better (and briefer) on the other match. Marcela seemed to be a particpant in name only, outside of getting her required offense in in the third fall. It was impossible to tell if Silueta’s moonsault was any good the way they showed it. I’d say that was probably the point if CMLL had seemed adept at doing that before.

Stuka splash

Ángel de Oro, Stuka Jr., Super Porky vs Hechicero, Shocker, Vangellys: [ok] yet another match I had trouble maintaining interest in. My reviews are as empty as the matches themselves. Not quite a Porky Special (no sumo charge), but not much else. Hechicero was a good teammate, didn’t get to do much on his own, and actually blew a spot (that might have been Angel de Oro’s fault.)

Sky Team

Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero: [ok] rated the same as the other matches but much better than them, twice as energetic and much more exciting. It was also the shortest match. It was a lot of usual Sky Team stuff but they’ve gotten very good at their usual formula. Finish was inexplicable, with the announcers as baffled as everyone else why Gran Guerrero would toss his mask to Ultimo Guerrero while Ultimo Guerrero was still legal and didn’t need to hide his identity. (I guess it’s possible UG was eliminated and it was edited out, but then it wouldn’t have made sense for UG to unmask himself right after getting his hand raised.) That weirdness aside, easily the most watchable thing on this show.
