Esfinge, Gallo, Omar Brunetti vs Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus: [ok] typical GDL vs DF match at this point, with the Guadalajara guys looking generic and outclassed. Esfinge looked better than this partners, but there’s no one shown here capable of generating the excitement of the Palacio Negro/Metal Blanco period. Cancerbero had a rough match himself, failing on whatever first fall finish he had originally planned, mistiming his interference in the third fall, and then struggling with Omar’s headscissors soon after. Some of it could’ve been those he was working with, but not all of it.
Blue Panther Jr. vs Sagrado in a lightning match: [ok] a Blue Panther Jr. showcase, getting all the offense before Sagrado hit his weird move (but not the weird move I like) before the win. Blue Panther Jr. seemed to be some weird combination of La Mascara (stripping, dancing for no reason), Diamante Azul (half his moves) and Roman Reigns (many Superman punch style moves), not the best of combinations for 2015. He was alright here, though he almost took himself out on his first tope.
Blue Panther, Marco Corleone, Máximo vs Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible: [bad] either Blue Panther got legit knocked out by a Terrible punch and everyone just kept wrestling around him for minutes as if they had learned nothing at all, or Blue Panther decided to do a fake knockout/possible death angle. A strong NO to either one. (Looked like he was selling. Marco did seem concerned.
Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto:[ok] an absurdly rushed Sky Team high reel. They were hurrying so much that the referee called for Luciferno’s submission before Valiente had even finished putting on the hold. They did the big spots to make up for the short time – triple dive and stacked up superplex checked, you know this match – but their timing could use some work. There probably will be pretty good 15-20 minute match at some point, that’ll be almost exactly this plus five more minutes, wait for that
