Rayo de Demus

Astral & Eléctrico vs Demus 3:16 & Pierrothito: [ok] kind of what you’d expect for a Friday early match, until completely falling apart in the last minute. Flying moves being missed aimed, referees not calling submissions, people getting drilled in the back of the head by a miss aimed knee, this had it all. Astral was struggling before that, missing on his second fall moonsault finish too. It’s almost like adding tons of muscle for cosmetic purposes has hurt his agility. Maybe the announcers were tipped off to do this match because Demus was going to wear the shirt, because otherwise the announcers calling the opener would make no sense and indicate how much waste there is in CMLL. Announcers really didn’t talk all that much about Perro or the shirt.

Electrico forgets the spot, runs around the ring, runs back the other way, springboards and accidentally knee drops Pierrothito in the back of the head
Volador reduces Shocker’s Guapo-ness by at least 2%

Atlantis, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible: [OK] rudos don’t have a team name yet, but are clearly being pushed as a new feared trio. No idea why they’re being used that way, but they won a lot cleaner and dominated (submissions on all the técnicos at once) than rudos normally ever do. Match itself was pretty normal and short on TV, but it’s técnicos the fans actually have an affinity for it so it worked out okay; the difference between Tuesdays and Fridays can be immense sometimes and this was one of those times.

two different ways to finish the match

Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush vs Rey Escorpión, Thunder, Último Guerrero: [ok] continuing the Rush/Thunder feud, at least until Thunder disappeared after this match. Match was alright, though strange: Rush was back to being being a técnico and Thunder a rudo this week, the reverse of the dynamic up to this point. Crowd still booed Rush at all times. Finished seemed messed up – Tirantes turning around too soon, and Marco having to improvise a second distraction so they could get the foul in? – and seeing Thunder beat Rush at all just seems wrong. Máximo seemed like his hair cut after last week, which is odd coming right after a hair match. It might have just been that he didn’t have the mohawk up.

Delta, Dragon Lee, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Kamaitachi, Negro Casas: [ok] not enough time! There was definite chemistry in this match, this one had the potential to be great given ten more minutes (or better editing.) Cavernario & Maya haven’t matched up much since the tag title program, but play well off each other. Casas forced Delta into switching up his usual match for the better. And Dragon Lee & Kamaitachi are still very good together, even in this match where their time was scaled back a bit.
