poor Kamaitachi, this looks brutal

recap

taped 2015-03-20 @ Arena México

hitting each other hard works too

Dragon Lee vs Kamaitachi for the mask: [excellent] a suitable conclusion to their feud, full of the same sort of crazy moves and death defying landings they’ve had all the way thru. They were hitting each other hard from the start, including the moment where they both almost knocked each other out with German suplexes. This wasn’t a match of great psychology, but a match of great highlights as both attempted to destroy each other. There was a couple minute section in the last fall, starting with a double powerbomb that didn’t seem right all the way thru a diving headscissors to the outside not really caught, where the match got a little rough. They pulled it together and followed with enough big moves that people probably didn’t even think about those moments by the end. Crowd really didn’t seem to mind to much even in those moments, fiercely and loudly cheering for Dragon Lee through the whole match as if this was one of the hottest feuds in Arena México in a long time. (They may not be showing up every week, but they knew who to root for when they were there.) There were so many great spots it’s tough to go over them all. The Dragon Lee flip over the rail off a dropkick was great, the Kamaitachi senton to the floor was super crazy. This match delivered.

running dropkick off the apron
over the top apron headscissors by Dragon Lee
top rope senton bodyblock to the floor, why not
double knee smash
one more ramp dropkick

huge powerbomb on Volador

Máximo & Volador Jr. vs Rey Bucanero & Terrible for the hair: [good] A strong effort as expected from the end of this feud, and in the style you’d expect as well. It was a Volador match, all near falls, dives, and rest breaks. Just like the opener, very short first (10% of which might have been Terrible fixing his pin on Máximo.) Unlike that one, the second fall was short too – and someone not paying any attentionse to off the fireworks after as if it was the end of match. All four guys broke out their a-effort and offense not normally expected from them – the Volador dive into the crowd was a nice idea not treated well enough, and Maximo’s dive being cut out is totally absurd. (They had time to show it in the end of show video.) -It was hard for me to care much about it given the real lack of drama, and shooting off celebratory fireworks after the second fall must’ve not helped the crowd, but they were still into it. Seemed stronger for the mask match, though. At least Rey saved the piledriver for a finish in this one, and the final finish was a lot more straight forward than usual.
